Mary smiled at Darwin. He was weird like her; they could get along. It was awesome. "Thanks. She real--" And then suddenly the world... road rather, turned sideways and Mary felt her head hit the rainbow road under the impact of the slap. She supposed she deserved that, even if Argabauth was screeching for the flight to attack her.
She pushed herself up, rubbing the red spot on her cheek. "I did attack first, so by rule of engagement that was allowed. Though, as a rogue, she probably doesn't have a flight behind her, so its good she walked off. Yes, very good," she said to the two left. There went the Dynast Age babble again, but ah well.
No one had slapped her for that yet, so she was free to speak as necessary. She wiggled her shoulders, fluffing the imaginary wings, and curled her legs under her. Much better.

"Oh, Beowulf," Steven mumbled, some memories surfaced. And then Bela started rambling on about Bifrost and Norse myths and he was starting to second guess his edging.
No, lady, that wasn't it, and he knew if he had to be the voice of reason, they were pretty much doomed.
The guy who quite frankly scared the bejesus at him was calling for doctors, nurses, and police officers again and he felt a little bad, honestly. And suddenly he got what was probably the most ill advised idea ever.
"U-um," He stepped forward, lifting his hand as he approached Gilbert. "I'm a nurse," He offered. Well, he was sure he knew enough to act as one and he was standing there conspicuously dressed as one. Now wasn't the time to harp on details, he was sure.

Catfight. Cute. Still a cheeky brat but, at least she had spirit. Jett's eyes followed Molly as she meandered away, but he wasn't exactly sorry to see her go. He was still caught up on Darwin's statement and interjected, before any more slaps could go around, "No need to be rude, Darwin. I'd thought you might be greatful. Was that your first kiss? From someone as good looking as Raven, too? ...I wonder if she'd have kissed you if I hadn't said anything. No matter. I'll wish you two well. Sorry to be a bore, dear," he said to Raven; he leaned close and gave her a little kiss on the cheek as he stepped away.
"Call me some time, won't you?" he said, flashing a flirty smile. "Or come find me if you get bored. I suspect that if things keep going the way they are now, we could be here for some time," he mused, though had no scientific logic for this. He wasn't leaving the group in a hasty manner, just pacing himself. He intended to stay near them in case something else did happen, but for as belligerant a person as he was, he wasn't looking for much of a fight. If he'd kept his mouth closed and been a bit more polite, maybe he wouldn't have been making enemies, but Jett was tired and really missed his bed.
...And it was a damned jab to his ego to be ignored. Particularly when the life of the party had become a couple he imagined were complete strangers, and a girl who fancied speaking not only to herself, but of completely preposterous ramblings.

A nurse! Good, thank God, excellent. He had basic CPR training, but it was nice to have someone else who could tell his head from his a*****e in a situation like this. Well, presumably.
Offering a friendly smile toward Steven, Gilbert gestured to himself and called out, "Come over here! Excellent. Any other medical professionals? Anyone with emergency training? Leadership training? Teachers, parents?"
He was trying to set up some kind of command unit that would separate all the hormone-driven teenagers and keep them from gnawing each other's faces off before they figured out what the hell was going on, but if it was just going to be him and Stutter over there, he might as well consider himself going it alone. Maybe he was grasping at straws, but it was better than nothing.

This was not happening this could not be happening why was this happening? Sure she just got off work, sure she sees some rather unexplainable things come in to the hospital, did she ever expect something like this to happen to HER? No... not at all. Clearly this was something she did, maybe she tripped and fell... maybe there was something in that drink. Yes, clearly. The drink was at fault. Lynn looked around for a moment... too lost in her own thoughts to realize someone was addressing her. Tucking some of her wavy hair behind one ear, she looked up into the black abyss. Eyes not solid level, she did not realize, until he smiled, that she was staring right at someone. Face turning red, Lynns eyes dropped to her shoes. "Maybe thats all this is, a long day at work... getting the rest i need and no need to worry about anything. A dream... no thank pinch hurt." Frowning, she turned her eyes back up to the man whom spoke. Taking a step in his direction, she held a hand out. "If i touch you would you be solid..." More a statement than a question, all the same. Being a nurse she was used to touching, but if this was NOT a dream it would be mighty awkward.

Felix Blanc had been hunched over his desk, diligently scribbling down notes as he read through his textbook, but now the befuddled college student found himself in the middle of a massive crowd of strangers. Eyebrows furrowed, he stared at his empty palms. One hand carefully closed as if to confirm that yes—his pencil and books were no longer with him. His gaze looked past his hands and gawked. Rainbows? Rainbows were images created when the light hit droplets of water in the atmosphere. Or products artificially colored to appeal to its audience.
“Is this a dream?” he wondered, cautiously pinching his arm and wincing at the dull pain. To Felix’s dismay, nothing changed. “This is real?” His mind wanted to adamantly reject everything around him. If he was seeing right, he was in space, along with a sea of strangers. However, he couldn’t deny the fact that he was awake. He heard a girl (Felicia) mumble about dreams and he turned his head toward her. “I wish, but at the moment this appears to be real.”
Nearby he heard someone (Gilbert) shout for emergency personnel. “I highly doubt you’ll be able to properly organize a group of this size without, say, a megaphone or something to stand on to grab people’s attention.” He raised his voice in an attempt to be heard above the crowd. "A valiant attempt, though."

Bela watched as Steven offered up his services. Ah well, knowing how to patch something up was better than nothing. She paused when the officer said something about leadership and teachers.... paused. "Uh.... I'm a story teller for events and things..." She offered unsure if that's what he was looking for but she was use to handling groups.
Of course that snobby teacher lady probably wouldn't like her helping. Bela just shrugged and waited to see if cop thought she was good enough to help.

Darwin was smart enough to get that Raven was playing some sort of game with Jett, though he didn’t get what or why. He figured it was typical cheerleader nonsense, and as long as that arm around his waist didn’t try to squeeze him in half then he figured he could play oblivious. At least, that had been his plan until Raven directly addressed him. Then, for safety’s sake, he figured he best play along.
“ Uh… sure.” It sounded more like a question though.
And then Molly was screeching again and slapping the one part of this whole crazy scenario that wasn’t, well crazy. Not that Mary was normal, but- oh, whatever.
Darwin’s bushy eyebrows drew together as he frowned at Molly’s retreating back. At last, the harpy was going away. Jett was still around though, and Darwin couldn’t think of a decent response to all the nonsense spewing out of his mouth – it’s not like he asked Raven to kiss him – so he just stared at the boy blankly until he too left.
Shaking his head, he looked back at Mary.
“ I still blame this on the squirrels.”

The child ( Sheila), a student at St. Magdalena's Seminary Marienrode supposed, seemed… shy. It was endearing, at least to Marienrode; she gladly allowed the teenager to stand near her, settling a hand at the side of her new charge's arm. Close enough that she could hopefully reassure the girl, provide some measure of comfort and guidance, but far enough away that she would not spook her. "If something happens, the enemy will likely find us extremely difficult to wound in such a large assembly," said Marienrode. "We will stay at the fringes so as to be able to retreat and recoup quickly. Don't fear." Another young woman ( Felicia) was wandering off. Were none of them blessed with the intellect they surely had been born with? "Miss! Please return to the group! This is no time to be wandering away." Gilbert shouted again, and Marienrode tightened her grip on the child. They could ignore him, and she did, most of her energy on not shouting at the group of students who were bickering and slapping each other ( doubtless Meadowview, all of them!) and on comforting Sheila. She doubted any of them would listen to her outside the school setting. She knew none of them, as well. Luckily, Mr. Davis was keeping out of trouble. But when he asked for teachers, she raised her hand. "Gilbert," she called. "I am present, as well." She still made no move to leave Sheila's side, pressing lightly on the girl's shoulder in case she tried to bolt. The worst thing that could happen would be for one of them to get separated, or Heaven forbid find a section of this gossamer road that was rather more ephemeral than concrete.

Mal quirked an eyebrow at Hawke, only to unquirk it and give a shrug. She could certainly fault whatever force had brought them all together for sticking her with a few pasty-faced Lord of the Ring-rejects, but she couldn't fault said rejects for just being themselves. Or other people, as it were. At least they remained committed to the whole sword and sorcery act in the face of such dire circumstances. That was kind of admirable, right?
Looking around, the other members of the group didn't fare much better as sparkling examples of DC citizenry. The group of teenagers looked especially worrisome, where an apparent spat had resulted in a kiss. Mal had been so over high school when she had actually been in high school.
Mal reached into her back pocket, fishing out her lighter and a crumpled pack of cigarettes. She tapped the box against her palm, regarding the spires in the distance with interest. "Maybe you're onto something, Gimli," she said to Hawke, pulling out the smoke she had popped free with her teeth. The LARPer - a term Mal was loathe to use, even mentally - was the only one offering a suggestion that didn't come in a patronizingly maternal tone or from a cop, so Mal was inclined to listen to her.
She slid the box back into her pocket and raised her lighter to the cigarette's tip. She was about to spark a flame when she suddenly stopped. She starred out at the stars. Didn't fire need oxygen? Wasn't there no oxygen in space? How were they all breathing? What the <******** were they doing on a rainbow in space?
Mal lowered her lighter, disparate thoughts jangling around the fog in her head. She was still incredibly high and incredibly hungry, and the absence of her snack filled pantry filled her with as much dread as the thought of never seeing her friends and family again did.

Molly had given up looking anyone. Everyone had the own conversation or where just too weird for her. he was going to be alone, alone in this horrible rainbow world. She sigh and looked around until she caught sight of Jett. What was he doing walking away from the group? Did that insane girl hit him too. She walk over and gave a half smile. "So did that girl hit you too? Or you're just too heart broken that you left." Yeah Molly wasn't dumb. She could see those signs miles away.

Raven felt her knees threaten to give out when Jett's lips graced her cheek. She took in a deep breath, then squeezed Darwin a little tighter for support, waiting until Jett had taken a few steps away.
What the hell. Here she was, in the company of two nerds, one who...clearly had a slightly awesome bit in her from slapping Molly, and one, who she had already made out with, and was now clinging to.
Huh. She was somewhere over the rainbow, all right.
The girl shook her head, then sighed, seeming almost unwilling to release Darwin's waist, but did so, then sat down. "So...That was...so many levels of strange...Why don't we try to figure out where we are and what's going on now, also, Dar? Do you mind if I call you Dar?"
She hesitated for a good long moment, looking him over. "If you did something with your hair and eyebrows, you'd be rather attractive. And, Agrabah, (Mary) nice b***h slapping. I approve."

A voice to one side caught and grabbed Felicia's attention, drawing her gaze to an older looking boy(Felix) who seemed every bit has perplexed as she felt. He had been speaking to her though, discrediting her self assurances that everything around them was nothing but a very vivid dream. "How could this possibly be real?" She actually laughed, turning in full to face him, a small hand coming to rest on one slender hip. "We're standing on a glowing rainbow in the middle of space, and there are floating castles out in the distance." Had she been any less of a lady she'd have snorted at his observations.
She didn't bother commenting further though, having followed the other boy's line of sight towards yet another man whom appeared to be trying to organize the motley crew of strangers all around them. "Valiant? Not the word I'd use." Hazel eyes narrowed ever so slightly towards Gilbert. Not so much annoyed at him, but the dawning reality of the situation. The happy little lie she'd formed for herself was beginning to crumble around the edges, and she didn't much like that.
Someone else was calling to her (Marienrode), and she regarded them flatly. "I'm not wandering away." Not that it mattered, This was her dream.
It had to be a dream, had to. The alternative, completely impossible for one thing, was a terrifying thought, and not one Felicia was very keen on facing. She was going to cling to her delusional little lie as long as she possibly could. Of course admitting it was a lie, she was only making it crumble all the faster.

“Do you think I’d let some girl hit me and not repay her the favor? Forgive me, but chivalry is dead,” he shrugged. “…Besides, she’s half crazed anyway. I take it from your ramblings that you’ve never met Darwin in your life, hmm? Raven sure moves fast,” he said, a slow smirk growing on his face. He didn’t bother to glance back at Raven; he hoped it was worth it for her to kiss that boy. He hoped she was enjoying her lie.
Still, he really didn’t care. Raven was a friendly face in an uncomfortable environment, and if she’d rather be with some clearly deranged strangers, let her. He wasn’t her caretaker—hell, he was hardly even her friend.
He had glanced around and once more assessed the groups of people that seemed to be forming; everyone was slowly making their own numbers, and he decided that if he wasn’t going to keep Raven by his side, it might as well be her snobby, crybaby friend. “I’m Jett,” he said, holding out a hand for Molly. “What did you say your name was?”

He was dying. Callum Quince was absolutely positive that this time he was dying. It was a heart attack. The blondish young man could feel his heart racing in his chest and a buzz in his head that was like a smoke alarm going off. Next he probably be smelling burnt toast. . . . Wait. Did he actually smell burnt toast? Oh no. This must be a stroke.
Regardless of the fact that Callum was likely far too young to experience either a heart attack or a stroke it was the only explanation he had. Sure, he had thought he was having a heart attack a few times in his life already. But this time, it felt so real.
One minute he was working late and the next minute he was in a black void having a heart attack; his mouth was dry. Except Callum wasn’t in a black void. Slowly his senses were coming around and he heard the awful chatter of those around him.
Then he remembered that he had eyes. Opening them slowly, Callum Quince took in what was around him. People were scattered around on a vividly colored road. It was definitely not the bank.
Callum’s boney fingers patted his body to make sure it was there. Still there, wherever there was. As he looked around, Callum let out a slightly high pitched groan. There he was surrounded by a bunch of teenagers who seemed to be bickering like idiots. There were no familiar faces that he could make out right away. Maybe one or two were adults from what he could tell.
Obviously, Callum Quince did have a heart attacked and died. He was sent to hell.
