[ Gale is 'The Battle Cry' ]
For once, Jinhai was not stoically silent.
<< LET ME SHOOT ALREADY, YA DAMN MORON. >>
Of course, he wasn't particularly nice either. Gale glared down at the rifle in question, feeling the surging heat course through the white metal beneath his fingers, the way the weapon seemed to vibrate, pulse with life and yearning.
"So you want to be shot, eh?" he asked Jinhai with a smirk, hoisting the weapon up so that the butt of it pressed against his inner shoulder blade, the barrel held out firmly in front. His legs took their position, spread the breadth of his shoulders, and Gale squinted, one eye closing as he peered through the telescopic viewer towards the target.
<< JACKDAMMIT JUST PULL THE TRIGGER ALREADY. >>
He grinned, finding the trigger and yanking it. Immediately there was a rush of cold wind against his face, a flash of the brightest blue and a loud BANG. Ice had crept up the barrel of the gun, a foamy white smoke exhaling from the exit, but the bullet had not met its mark. Instead it had whistled by the target, a few tiny specks of ice visible on the side of it where the bullet had brushed against it harmlessly.
Gale swore, and Jinhai made a noise of disgruntlement and irritation.
<< Next time, aim better. >>
"Shut it, you."

((Before is IRONY "The Eye"))
Oh s**t. OH s**t. Davey was totally talking to him! Wait, he was talking to Before, right? N-not his Bro or Gale, right? The teal-eyed Hunter quickly glanced at Bix then at the younger Hunter before he settled on staring at his shoes almost self-consciously as he answered, "M-my mom called it excessively expressive." He was also tempted to scuff his shoes against the floor had Vanna not told him he needed to convey her thanks to the one-armed Hunter. "O-oh a-and um, Vanna says thank you!"
And then their instructor called them to attend. Attend what? He raised his eyes towards Aria as she- OH HAI, did anyone hear the sound of bone hitting the ground? Yeah, that was totally Before's jaw meeting the floor at their instructor's attack. Seriously. There was just so much awesome going on right now, he's liable to pass out from the flailing glee and utter fan-boying.
Wait, wait, wait, WHAT?! THEY could do awesome too!?!?! Well, he didn't doubt the others had it in them but did he? Oh, QQ MOAR, Before. You'll never find out if you don't give it the old college try and GO FOR IT! Except, he had no clue just what he was supposed to do.
Allow me. Though you might wish to hold me close, silly Before. The Hunter could swear he heard a smile in Vanna's voice as she spoke. He felt Vanna begin to vibrate in his grip and suddenly found he needed to loosen his grip as the wheel began to enlarge. Before was too fascinated to remark that it was a good thing he didn't need to like, y'know, rub or stroke her or anything for her to be ready and at attention. Instead, he gasped, "Vanna, y-you got fat!"
... ... ... JUST HIT THE CANDLEJACKING TARGET!!! the large metal wheel roared in Before's mind.
Startled as he was, Before fully expected the added size and heft to Vanna would render him flat on his a** again. Except he managed to keep his footing o0o?????!!?!?!?!? And what's more, when he swung her, it was as if her added mass was acting as a counter weight, giving him a better idea of how and where to aim.
And allowed him to actually hit his target! O_____________O!!!!!

[Roar is usin' BATTLE CRY]
Jerry listened intently to their superior officer, his eyes alight with excitement and empathetic energy from his purring weapon. "Are... are you ready, then, Roar? Well obviously by the sound of it ahahahahaa...." He straightened his glasses, steadying his resolve as he hefted the cannon onto his shoulder once more.
He also glanced past Roar's spines to see if anyone was watching him. "Candace! Candace let's see if this works!"
Lips pursed, he took sight of the cardboard target some ways away. He had barely touched Roar's trigger before there was a sudden eruption of sound- it was not a bark. It was a full out HOWL.
Jerry's ears were ringing as he was flung backward by the force of the blast, the sound-waves ripping through the cardboard as though it was wet paper.
"Oh... Oh wow..." He coughed as the dust settled. "That was... definitely ah... ahahaha... wow..."

(( Leon will be using "Battle Cry"))
Aria always knew just the right time to step in, seeing as Leon's head was suddenly assaulted with Nidhogg telling him to "Just let me release". "What the hell are you taking about? Do you have to pee or something?" But Aria quickly explained what was going on with his weapon and turned back to the cutouts.
He watched as Cass and the spectacled boy Jerry quickly took to their weapons higher abilities and it spurred Leon to want to join them. Nidhogg was puttering away at his side and suddenly revved up when the boxer held him with both hands.
"Time to go kill things Boxer, rev me up!" and the Boxer didn't question it as he pressed the trigger and heard the inhuman growl of the quivering tool in his hands grow larger and more deadly teeth. "Holy crap, you got Godzilla like teeth now Nidhogg!" he yelled out in surprise, even more so because he fully expected to drop the thing with all the added mass, but it felt no different than before.
"The better the gnaw on things my dear. Now, I want to explode on that thing over there, hurry up!" he growled back, even as a tool it was easy for the brunette to figure out what it wanted. and he dashed after the cutout and gave a mighty swing of the glowing rune weedwhacker.
and swung in to high of an arc to make proper contact and just grazed the edge of the cardboard, but it made great contact with the floor as the teeth sawed into the floor with ease, creating a nice gouge in the flooring.
The Boxer really had to find a way to gain better accuracy and not just brute strength and he knew that.
((A -miss-, Would have hit for 8. ))

[[Jordan will be using "The Battle Cry."]]
Ready, Ferros growled. He thrummed with impatience and excitement, projecting a different kind of hunger now, a kind of wild, rushing heat that demanded a target to destroy.
Got you, Jordan replied. He took a step back, took a firm, two handed grip on the hammer's haft, and swung hard, letting Ferros's weight magnify the force he could put into the stroke.
There was a deep, audible WHUMP, a shockwave of heated air, as the hammer's head burst into white-hot flame. Ferros's silent roar was exultant and bloodthirsty as he tore into the flimsy target, ripping it almost in half as the aura of flame surrounding the weapon set it alight all at once. This time, Jordan was ready for the pull of momentum; he braced his back foot, leaned back, and pulled Ferros to the side, finishing the stroke with a turn and letting the hammer slam hard into the ground to lose the last of the force it had gathered.
The cardboard target folded over on itself, burning down quietly; the flames surrounding Ferros's head vanished with a hiss, and Jordan leaned on his weapon, tired and starting to be sore already, but startled and impressed. That was awesome, he told Ferros.
I know, the weapon answered, sounding thoroughly satisfied with himself. Now get me off the ground. The grass is wet.

(( Davey is The Tainted Fang <3 ))
Davey quirked a half-smile at Before. Expressive, and very nervous. Maybe with good cause, if he managed to hit people's sore spots like he'd hit Davey's when they first met. Still, maybe he was good kid underneath it.
But Davey still had to wince and shake his head when Before called his weapon fat. Not something to tell a lady. Ah well, Before would learn. His weapon would whip him into shape about that, at least.
He watched with avid eyes as Aria demonstrated how to use the charge their weapons had just built up. Fingers tightened on Azrael's hilt, eager to try this out. Discipline let him wait until their instructor was done with her explanations and directing them to try out their own abilities.
"Let's do this," he said.
For once, Azrael was in complete agreement. He released the FEAR.
Davey stared down at the blade, suddenly coated in dripping... something. If he'd had a second hand, it would have been reaching out-
~Don't touch it,~ Azrael admonished. 'You may be a worthless idiot, but you'll be even more useless injured. Injured further, that is.~
Of course the demon sword couldn't help but make a jab at Davey's missing arm. The soldier rolled his eyes. Then he turned his attention back to the blade. "Poison, then?" he asked.
~Close. Bile.~
"Bile? Like stomach acid?" Davey blanched. The stuff that ate through leather shoes with one drop?
~Hmph. Nothing so weak as whatever you humans possess.~
"Oh, yeah, that's reassuring."
~Would you just hurry up? This won't last forever, you cretinous bore.~
"Fine, fine." Their earlier attacks had gone well. This was something new - closer to the magical than to the physical, which Davey was more familiar with. But he'd never know if he never tried.
Turning back to the target, Davey struck out with his enhanced, bile-dripping blade. It connected. Bile ate slowly away at the 'wound' Davey had made on the target.
"That. Is. Brilliant."
Azrael radiated smug satisfaction in Davey's mind. So nice of Davey to recognise Azrael's talent.

((Candace is using The Swift Strikes))
Candace's eyes were wide and her jaw was dropped after watching Aria shoot a freakin' laser beam at the cutout. Wow..just...wow. She really was a'chargin' her laser. Oh, Jack. I want to do that too. Please, oh please! Candace! Pleeeeeeeeease! Atropos interrupted her with her whining and pleading, begging for the chance to really show what she was made of. Candace sighed and looked down at her feet. Oh, do shut up. She was getting so annoying. But they might as well...Aria had asked them to show her their attacks. What did Atropos do? She hoped it was amazing just like her weapon. She would wait until the shooters were done, however. She didn't want to risk getting hit by accident and wasting her 'free hits' or whatever. They wouldn't hold out forever.
She watched as Gale missed and scratched at her cheek with a quiet chuckle. Poor kid. That had to hurt his ego. The Before guy looked excited that he'd hit something, as well. Can we go now? Please, please!? Candace was about to nod, but a loud howl forced her to instead wince and cover her ears. Where did that come from?! She turned to Jerry to find him on the ground and looking a mess, walking over to the man and offering him a hand up again.
"Wow! Jerry that..." She looked at his weapon and then the tattered remains of the cardboard cutout on the ground. Wow... "That was amazing! Great job!" Candace praised him whole-heartedly, giving him a tight hug whether he was fully standing yet or not. She was impressed! Even Jordan had done well! It was her turn now. She needed to do well with this. She had to.
Atropos was more than ready. Now was as good a time as any to try and see how much of her old cheerleading days she could remember. It'd been four years, man. She took off running toward the cutout, the gems and cracks in Atropos' boots glowing brighter and brighter with a slight hum to them. It wasn't until Candace hopped and attempted a cartwheel for the first time in four years that they gave a bright flash of purple light..
The first two kicks missed, but she got lucky as she fell to the ground; the blades knicked the corner of the cutout and sliced off a sliver of its edge.
Candace laid there on the ground and stared at the sky with a glare. She needed more practice. That sucked.

Jerry was still recovering from the rush of tapping into Roar's true power when Candice's sudden hug nearly sent him toppling back to the ground, "I... oh! Er... ahaha He's got quite a bark to him, eh? Apparently with just as much bite!" His weapon left at his feet, he awkwardly patted her back in a nervous sort of return hug. Keep it platonic, keep it platonic~
He relaxed a bit when she let go, but was still grinning idiotically only to give a hoot and a holler to cheer her on as she spun away... only to do minimal damage. "Er- That was fantastic too! Those really are tricky weapons, but it looks like you have the right form for them!" However you were supposed to fight with blades on your boots.

She let out a sigh and closed her eyes, really not feeling up to moving from the spot she was laying at just yet. Damn, having blades on her feet was hard. She really needed more practice at this. "Thanks, but you don't need to sugar coat it. That sucked." She had to get better. She had to. Finally she sat up and leaned back on her hands, frowning at her feet. She felt bad, like she'd let Atropos down, but the weapon seemed content. She had had her fill of Fear and released it in a blaze of glory, plus she understood this was Candace's first time really using her. She couldn't fault the girl for not being a professional right off the bat. After all, who was?
Candace smiled a little. "I don't suppose anyone knows a dance instructor on the island." She laughed and shook her head at that as she carefully got to her feet, heading back to sit on the ground by Jerry. Now what?

"I hear Robert is an excellent dancer," He chuckled, leaving Roar on the grass as he walked up to where Candace sat. Still smiling, he crouched to offer to help her up, "But if you er... ever wanted to combine our training efforts- ahahaha-"
Hey- HEY Don't just leave me down here, you moron! God, chasing tail and leaving your weapon is not proper- DON'T THINK I DON'T SEE YOU BLUSHING THERE HEY DON'T IGNORE ME! It seemed the fear burst had done nothing more than rise the once-howler's energy levels. He wanted to do it all again! But no, no, there he sat like tossed away luggage. I AM NOT YOUR WING MAN!
Jerry ignored his wailings, save for a small series of twitches to his expression.

((Ahem. Madison is using the Swift Strikes.))
Madison tried not to be too anxious as she watched the others perform their attacks, Kouki humming in her mind. The weapon's intensity only seemed to increase as the other trainees unleashed their own power. Oh, please, it's our turn, can't it be our turn? Let's go, now, let's go, Kouki urged.
To be quite honest, Madison was... intimidated. Afraid. She was quite sure she was going to hit herself with whatever Kouki could do when that power was released. But the blades were practically trembling at her sides, and Kouki's fierce eagerness was eroding away her anxiety... "Okay," she breathed, her grip around the two swords in her hands tightening. "Let's do this, Kouki."
The weapon let out a wordless, exultant cry; the next moment the runes on the blades flared, and the swords in her hands tugged themselves out of her grip. Simultaneously, the swords at her sides drew themselves out of the scabbard with one fluid movement, leaving Madison surrounded by humming metal as the blades slowly orbited her.
The sense of tension was almost overwhelming. What do I do now?! she asked her weapon, eyes widening.
Release us!!
She had no idea how to do that, but something in Kouki's exultant, singing voices urged her on. Madison lifted one arm, careful not to get too close to the blades, and pointed at the target in front of them. "Um... go get it?"
Focussss, Kouki hissed, his voice sounding more sibilant, more serpent than it usually did. We do not fight alone, but together! We bite together!
Madison clenched one fist at her side, the other arm still raised. Right. This wasn't something Kouki did on his own, evidently. The right arm, both legs, the head-
Together! Gloriousssss Bite-of-the-Sssserpent Sssstrike!!
Kouki's hissing howl was utterly exultant. As one, the blades rushed forward, held by no hand, the wind from their sudden passage ruffling Madison's hair and clothing. Their movements in the air were oddly sinuous, organic, not like arrows but as if the blades were... well.
Snakes.
And Madison was with them somehow, caught up with Kouki's excitement and directing the blows - the bite - even though her body was standing still, one hand still raised and pointing at the target. Together, they struck, and jaws-turned-blades bit down in perfect unison-
Kouki hissed in her mind, and then the attack was over, the swords sweeping back and returning to her. Madison watched them, utterly unafraid even though the blades were pointing right at her. The four swords settled easily back into their scabbards, their weight reassuring at her side.
And then, of course, she took a sharp short breath and fell over with sudden dizziness. "Did I do that?!" she gasped, staring at the target. It was pretty well obliterated, with every target she had named cut through... except, oddly, the head.
We missed one bite, but we did well, Kouki said, voice full of sated satisfaction and pride.

((Jude is using SWIFT STRIKE))
Jude felt sick. So sick. Sick and tense and just awful, he wished Yom's glee didn't suddenly affect him so making him gleeful in turn if he wanted to or not. Swallowing hard he watched everyone take turns unleashing their attack one at a time. He gripped the section of his hourglass weapon more tightly as he turned and started forward once he felt his turn was up.
'Yesssss. Doitdoitdoit~!' Yom chanted at him softly.
The youth was certain that if she still had a form she'd be writhing like a serpent in pure ecstasy over what was about to happen though he wasn't sure why he thought of that. Jude pointed the point of the spiked hourglass at his target and the points seemed to elongate even further and small pinpoint holes opened up as he suddenly rushed forward with a barrage of attacks.
The first one struck true causing Yom to cry out happily in response but the other two attacks that followed miss swiping toward either side of the target harmlessly and brushing his hand against the target clumsily. He stumbled back a bit after the release of energy and felt...
Better. Not as nauseous because Yom seemed to have calmed down for the moment.
'Not bad,' She observed in a satisfied tone, 'but we can do better.'
Jude uttered a soft huff as he moved to stand out of the way mostly standing off on his own for the moment. He needed a few minutes to make sure he wouldn't suddenly unleash his innards on someone.
