_G.A.R.R.A_ AngelNinja7 Also if anyone is interested I found a *really* detailed plot analysis on the games and movies on gamespot there's a lot but it's interesting, a bit long-winded in places..but good. And for Henry: they actually suggest that Pyramid Head wasn't actually a bad guy. I can't remember exactly what they said but basically was trying to get James to see to truth of what he did and that he didn't actually hurt anyone (Idk about that part cuz I remember him killing a guy when we first see him...i think i remember anyway gotta replay the game) if you think about it the only one he really hurt was maria who wasn't real, but a representation/"upgrade" to mary. Which you don't know your first time through of course..which is why a lot of people didn't like him (so says the plot guide thingy) anyway point being since he's not such a bad guy I like him even more now xd and don't feel as weird about cheering him on. Idk if you figured it out yourself but I thought you might like it As I understand it, Pyramid Head (the entity james actually sees) is purely a manifestation of his sense of guilt and his subconscious desire for punishment. That aside, PH is the only male monster in a town full of female monsters. He also is big, muscular, intimidating, and powerful (does as he pleases to the ladies (monsters)), not to mention he has a HUGE....sword ( which on a side note, it seems that if we take the sword to represent a sort of belief about what a man's sexuality is, then it makes sense that as soon as PH leaves the great knife (the idea about a man's sexuality) he becomes much more efficient and productive. This is just an idea, probably isnt how it is) IE how a sexy guy would be (big, strong, powerful, and well endowed) Yet he has to wear this painful, heavy, blinding, frankly crippling helmet like device.
Now I should point out, as I understand it the visual aspect, and to some extent the role, of PH is based on a painting James saw when in SH with Mary (Misty day, remains of judgement). So James was fascinated by SH's lore and the image of The Executioner (who PH is based off of) sat somewhere floating in the back of James's mind. Until his need for punishment brings that image to life. As far as I know, there is nothing that describes The Executioner as; slow (or fast), violent towards women (even if monsters), being in pain from the helmet OR being hindered by it at all, (and most of all) having a sword (great knife)! All of that James produced, either from the need PH filled for James, or what James assumed The Executioner would be like. So in short each game's "PH" is different, he is a manifestation of one of the character's fears and/or desires but most importantly, if this is the case he can ONLY appear to people who know who/what The Executioner is!
On a side note to adress the body you find in Woodside appts room 20_ (205 I think...) infront of the static-y TV, if you look closely he is James, like literally the same character model (as is every corpse you see, I believe). That and he wasn't there before you hear his scream, so I think that he, along with the other bodies are just created by James.I read this a while back and found it interesting then the computer decided to hate me even more so I said screw it..never got to reply. But I played through again and read something interesting about the monsters. You are completely right about the Woodside apts guy. When I played the first time I knew of PH as a bad guy and kind of jumped to that but later with more information and replaying it I know better. It's James hair even if I couldn't see anything else. It made me think of when he was in the hotel with the tv, kind of a what it he died/killed himself there? This is what it would look like. The monsters info basically said most of the monsters are female and a lot of it has to do with James uh..sexual needs not being met. He's torn between his wife making him feel like crap and still loving her and hating seeing her sick. She thought she looked horrible so maybe he did too. And that Maria was like her but different to be more like what James wanted. Basically between you awesome peoples smile and some stuff online I understand a lot more than I did..but I kinda wish I didn't know how sexual the game is...On a different note I'm finally getting to play Origins (have the Room as well to start playing - I think of Henry when I look at it and think I might play both cuz I'm getting frustrated every now and then in Origins) and I saw a monster in the Butcher shop after Alchemi(lla?) Hospital that reminds me a bit of PH He has a cleaver maybe? Can't really see what he stabs the nurse looking monster with. And a piece on his head that kinda looks like PH's helmet. But it's a side view and I can't see it that great. Anyone see and know and what do they think? I haven't seen him again yet.

Also, if you have a PS3 Silent Hill 1 is for sale on the PSN for $6. I just bought it and started playing it for the first time like.... 2 weeks ago? It's been a totally different experience, let me tell you! In fact, I probably will tell you because I am sure it will give me plenty to post about in the next couple of weeks! Silent Hill 1 is by far my favorite as it had a lot in it centered around the occult, religion, and the unknown. Not to mention the PS1 camera and low quality noises had me terrified to turn around every corner awaiting what was next to terrorize me. Also generic awesome dad and best police officer ever. I wish I had a dad that would look around for me in a haunted town and a police officer who's super nice and awesome enough to help out. I think the main reason I loved Silent Hill 1 was because of its lower production values and investigative aspects which really reminded me of my hero Lovecraft. Not to mention some monsters looked like shout outs to the Cthulhu mythos at least in my mind.

Lol anytime I think of "low camera quality" it makes me think of Harry turning the corner and going "Ahhhh holy crap! It almost looks like something mistakeably similar to a gelatinous blob or tiny flying rodent is coming either directly at me or in a painstakingly roundabout diagonal direction kinda sorta in my path of walking!" Lol but in all seriousness, I have to agree with you. There's things about that game that are just irreplaceably horrifying for life. Personally, I know I have already experienced my share of uncomfortable moments, and there have been times where I have wondered what else I could possibly be pitted against.

Well my husband bought it for me on PSN so I played it a bit. Cybil is a LOT more trusting in the game, giving him her gun. Does she even have another weapon? And omg the pixels...I'm a lot more tolerant of older graphics than my husband but I had to get used to how bad they were lol. A lot better voice acting than what I've seen of the original Resident Evil, that was laughable. Cheryl's dress is different than in shattered memories I think..I believe she's wearing the school uniform like in the movie. But then again her memories are debatable. Enough rambling. Henry how dare you leave us! *poke* You were the main person I talked to since you invited me sad You are or are not still in the guild? Well you are not off the hook for harassment razz That being said Ithaqua seems cool. I don't remember anything about Cthulhu myths though it sounds familiar.
