The food was delicious. It seemed like he could never eat enough, although his stomach would soon say something completely different. I need to figure out what I want to train. Perhaps I will work on my strength, my dodging, and maybe my chakra. Those seem to be key when being a ninja. He decided that first, he would probably work on his strength. He had his chakra drained earlier, and maybe it was time for a good exercise. He grabbed his chopsticks as he placed a piece of sushi in his mouth and began chewing it. He would do some push-ups, work the dodging dojo, and after that... he had yet to decide. Maybe some chakra molding, or reading a book on chakra, or something. For now he would sit there and enjoy the comfort of his food.

He felt like he ate so much his stomach would burst. He left the dining hall half an hour ago and was walking around the compound with no set destination. He was waiting for the food to digest and not feel like it could come out at any moment. He decided to get a change of clothes for training. The kimono was comfortable, but he wanted a more normal outfit. He walked to the south western wing and found his quarters. His mother wasn't home and so he simply walked in, changed into his white happi and left. He would show up later to sleep, and perhaps his mother would be home to speak about his day. She was probably in the library or helping out in the kitchens, anything to get her mind off of things. He closed the door behind him and left for some training... the sooner the better.

Tenshi made it into the dojo. It was fairly empty with all the equipment put away. They liked to keep this area pretty clean so anyone could walk in and use it right away. The Golden Rule: "Put it back when you're done using it," was enforced pretty strongly. He placed a few mats on the ground surrounding the wooden dummy. He figured this would be a good exercise to quicken his reaction time and practice his strikes. Why not? Sure it would hurt a bit, but nothing he couldn't handle. He began stretching his muscles, not wanting to cause any cramps or serious injuries before his final exam. I can't wait!! He sat down on the ground and started with his legs, bending this way and that, and then working his way up to his neck. "Ah, there we go... How's about we get started?" He bent his knees and positioned himself in front of his wooden foe. He started laughing imagining it coming to life and speaking like Hokaboku.

((19 Pass))
Tenshi struck the dummy on one of the posts sticking out of the wooden contraption. He had seen it done before, but this was his first time attempting it himself. He never seen anyone get seriously injured, but he took precautions by laying the mats on the ground. Sure they wouldn't help with the hit, but if he fell at least it would be a soft landing. He almost forgot to move out of the way as the wooden 'arm' came around. He ducked out of the way and held up his hand to block the next one from hitting him.

((16 Pass))
As soon as the block connected he hit the arm that attacked him, sending the arm around the circle. Tenshi had to watch out for the lower arm as it went for the side of his abdomen. Ducking below it he stretched out his arms and rolled his shoulders as it went over him. Placing both hands in front of him he blocked the high arm again, by gripping it with both hands. He smiled at himself, glad that he was actually doing so well.

((8 Fail))
Tenshi kicked the 'leg' of the dummy that jutted out the bottom of the rotating pole. When he kicked it, the force caused it to spin rather fast and so the middle arm he dodged before hit him in the back and he went flying forward, his body landing on the mat. "Geeze that hurt!" He wasn't expecting it to hurt as much as it did, and he could tell by the end of this he was going to be bruised and battered. Do this, or don't graduate? Which one, huh? He knew his answer and so he stood back up and brushed himself off.

Tenshi wiggled his body to loosen himself up. He smacked the wooden post again. He would make sure to watch that mid- He got hit square in the temple and found himself on the floor again. He was getting his a** handed to him... by an inanimate object! He took a big exhale to fume off his anger at the thing as he slowly stood up. Rubbing his head, which really made it worse, he checked his hand. No blood. He would be surprised if the wooden thing could. He never really seen anyone get hit with it that hard.

((15 Pass))
With his venting anger at the thing he smacked the arm with his palm, practicing his Gamibuyou a little. Watching the top arm as well as the middle and the leg, was a bit much, but he could use his peripherals to get a decent view of each one. It went by pretty fast, but Tenshi managed to block the wooden arm from hitting him once again. Why couldn't I do that before?! He was enjoying himself... except for the pain he was feeling. He could probably go without that, but with pain comes experience...

((3 Fail))
He only had two arms and one leg placed in the dummy, but even then it was rather difficult. Maybe he would try it later with a few extra arms and legs. For now, the thing was still bludgeoning him. He countered the blocked attack, but the leg swept him and he landed right on his back. Ow... good thing... I put down mats... He could feel the pain in his calf muscles. He would definitely need some more work on this, but he thought he was doing good for his first time using the thing.

((14 Pass))
Tenshi stood in front of the dummy and placed his hands on his hips, rotating his abdomen. He could feel it in his back. I really hope I don't have back problems when I get older. Knowing this job I'm sure to have lots of old bones that can't work... He could picture himself old and in a wheelchair, unable to take care of his own body and aching all over. He shook the images out. He was only twelve for crying out loud! He had lots of time. He readied himself and hit the dummy. He blocked the high arm and hit it again, jumping over the leg and blocking the lower arm. He was starting to get better at it, and soon he could move to less painful training.

((14 Pass))
Tenshi hit it once more lifting his leg up and blocking the leg. He kicked it, spun around and getting low, avoiding the high arm and held out a hand. His palm met the low arm and was stopped instantly. This is getting a little easy now... perhaps I should put it more arms and legs. He went over to the storage closet and grabbed a few arms and another leg. He set them down and began placing them into the dummy. He wiped his hands off each other and looked at his work, "Nice..." he smiled and stood in front of his new opponent. "Good luck, wooden dummy."

((Nat 20 Passx2))
Tenshi struck the dummy and immediately had to duck to avoid the low arm and right after came the leg, which he jumped over. the next middle arm almost caught him, but he countered spinning it the other way. He kicked the leg back and ducked below the middle and high arm that came next and placed his foot out that caught the oncoming leg. He exhaled a bit before kicking it, countering the high swing, dodging the middle arm and leg and grabbed the high arm. His elbow, as if by instinct found the dummy about where his foe's neck would be. He smiled and wiped off the sweat. "Phew... what a work out..." He would have to get some water after the training, and maybe take a small break.

((17 Pass))
Tenshi jumped right back into it... literally. He jumped at the thing and gave it a decent kick. Luckily the next thing he had to dodge was a high arm so all he had to do was go down with gravity to avoid it. A leg came and so he jumped over it and blocked the high attack. He pushed it onwards and hit the lower ducking to avoid being hit by the high one and stopped the kick while facing away from the dummy. He had to admit that this exercise was a little fun. Tiring, of course, but he could see himself enjoying it. He had yet to own a weapon to bring in the dojo, but he would have one soon enough.

((3 Fail))
Tenshi stood up and turned the dummy. He hit and and avoided the leg sweep and the high swing, but he was hit in the side by one of the lower arms. "Lucky shot... man does that hurt..." He felt the air in him come out, but it wasn't enough of a punch that he couldn't catch up to his breathing. He lifted up his shirt to show where he was hit. A large red spot showed up on his skin, which he knew would be purple sooner or later. Mom's going to be wondering what I was doing... He could see her worrying that he was mugged or beat up on. He wouldn't let that happen... not by a long shot.

((18 Pass))
Pulling his shirt back down he held his side and walked closer to the dummy. "Let me tell you Mr. Dummy... you are going to get it..." He held up his hands hesitantly. He only endured a few strikes, but they were certainly painful and he didn't want to experience it again. He wondered if maybe he should stop for a while. He shook his head and looked at the dummy in the eyes... well if it had eyes... He flicked the dummy in the supposed forehead and then swatted away the arm. He dodged the high and low arm together by ducking underneath them. He jumped over the leg and kicked the low arm. He landed soon enough to jump back over the leg and block the two arms that came at him. I guess here's another good reason to be wearing these things... My hands would really be hurting about now.

Tenshi turned it again, giving himself a new place to start. He kicked the leg and jumped over the low arm, rather than ducking under it. He lifted his hand and blocked the high arm. When he hit it he ducked under the low arm and jumped over the leg. The high and low arm came up and Tenshi ducked under those. He kicked the leg that came next and put his back to the dummy. He stopped the two arms and drove his elbow straight into the dummy's chest. He dropped both arms and patted the dummy's head, "Good show..." He took exhausted breaths and sat down on the floor. At least it was cooler at the compound rather than anywhere else. The cool air was refreshing on his now warm flesh.

Tenshi placed all the items back where they came from, including the arms and legs of the dummy. He wasn't about to get scolded by anyone about the dojo being unkempt. He left the dojo in search of something else to do. The cool breeze was relaxing to him, especially after his recent workout. He walked across the compound and up the stairs. His next destination was the library. He could probably read something to pass the time and maybe make him tired before he would sleep the night off. He hadn't decided what he would read, but it would be something he enjoyed. Maybe he'd look for a book on jutsu. He had always wondered how it worked and why it worked. He may as well find out about it while he as motivated to do so. He walked up the stairs and stopped at the big redwood doors. Pushing them open, he was immediately bathed in the sunlight through the stained-glass window.

Tenshi was awestruck by the light within the library. He had heard of some of the elder clanmembers would simply sit in the library, but he never understood why. He realized it now that the elegance of the vast room was enough to stop anyone in their tracks and simply sit down and immerse themselves in the beauty. He found himself sitting in a chair and just looking at everything. The windows, the chandelier, the red velvet floor, the redwood shelves, even the smell was mesmerizing. He took in a deep breath and closed his eyes as he envisioned peace and tranquility. Even a snowstorm couldn't bring this much peace to him.

((4 Fail))
He almost forgot what he was here to do. He wanted to look for a book about ninjutsu, not sit in the library gawking at everything. He had stuff he needed to study. If he wanted to pass the final exam he would need to freshen up on his studies. He didn't want to just pass, but excel! He wanted to be known as the good student, and he hoped he was just so. Well... Bumu sensei already thought he was a know-it-all... I guess my plan backfired... He didn't care. He looked around the shelves looking for a book, but failed at finding one.

((5 Fail))
He decided to do what any other person would do in finding a book. He went to a dresser which had lots of small drawers in it. He pulled out the drawer labeled 'N' and ran his fingers through until he found a card labeled 'Ninjutsu' It had lots of titles on it and he took the one called, 'Ninjutsu, The Basics of.' He would start at the beginning and work his way around. Writing down the book number, title, and shelf numbers, he went in search of the book. Looking around he couldn't seem to figure out where he was. Great... lost in the library. It's almost like you never stepped foot in here...

Tenshi continued looking for the book amongst all the books in the library. He was having no luck. He took a guess at where to look. Judging from the way the shelves were placed he pointed to each one, giving each a letter. He went from there to the shelf number and the book number, but instead found a book titled: 'Med-nin: It's a Miracle!' The cover of it displayed a photo of a man cut open and showing the innards. Tenshi's late lunch almost found its way back up, nut he swallowed it down and quickly put the book back where he found it. That was the most disturbing image I have ever seen... I don't think I can be a med-nin. His face already pale as it was, now looked ghostly white and sickening.

((18 Pass))
As he passed the bookshelf he noticed something on the inside of the shelf. Upon closer inspection he noticed it was a letter. What the hell! Why place it in the bookcase instead of outside where it is easier to see?! Now with his newly found knowledge he went to the correct bookcase and grabbed the book he was looking for. Glad that it wasn't something even more disturbing, he walked over to an empty and sat down. He cracked open the greatly used book and began reading:

TAB"Ninjutsu (忍術; Literally meaning "Ninja Techniques") refers to any technique that utilizes chakra and allows the user to perform actions that a normal person otherwise would be incapable of doing. Unlike genjutsu, which causes the opponent to experience illusions, the effects of ninjutsu are actual and physical in most cases. Ninjutsu relies on chakra and, most of the time, hand seals to be effective. Jutsu, or skills/techniques, are the mystical arts a ninja will utilize in battle. To use a jutsu, the ninja will need to use his chakra. Chakra comes from two places. (1) the body energy inherent in your trillions of cells and (2) the mental & spiritual energy gained from exercise and experience.

To perform a jutsu, the ninja will bring out and release these two energies. By forming handseals, the ninja is able manifest the desired jutsu. Because of the extensive number of hand seals and different combinations, there are thousands of potential jutsu to be discovered.
"

((11 Fail))
He lifted his eyes from the page and thought about what he read. It all made sense, but it was so weird how one could create water, fire, any elements from almost nothing. The light in the room was certainly distracting. No wonder the library was absent of readers. No one could read in here at this time of day. He decided to keep reading, but lost where he was on the page! Ah! I forgot to place my thumb where I was! He had to read everything over again so as to make sure he didn't skip over anything. He found where he had left off and continued on with his reading.

Tenshi read some more:

"The hands are put in sequential positions that moulds and manipulates chakra in the necessary manner to perform a technique. This is not always needed, however, and some techniques become second nature to experienced ninja, after which they can perform them at will. Additionally, many ninjutsu can be classified as an elemental techniques, in those cases where a specific element (wind, water, fire, earth, or lightning) is used.

Each ninja has the potential to better utilize one of these styles and potentially more. A special elemental detecting paper is used to determine ones type. The paper comes from trees which are specially grown with chakra. When the ninja imbues the paper with a portion of their chakra, the paper will alter to reveal one's type. The paper will rip in two for Wind, burn for Fire, become wet for Water, fall apart for Earth and crumple for Lightning."

This had made sense to him. He understood the different types of chakra and jutsu. He had Wind and Ice, the traits of every Fubuki inside and outside the compound walls. Most people did not have ice as one of their chakra types, but the Fubuki were special. He had heard of the chakra paper, but never needed to use it due to the same fact.

Tenshi heard a disturbance as a man accidentally ran into a cart of books knocking them all over. Tenshi, being the nice guy that he was, went over and helped pick them up. The man thanked him and went on his way. Tenshi walked back over to the table and noticed the book wasn't there. I swear I left it there... Cart fell over, helped man with books.... Where did i- Tenshi looked at the cart. He must have placed it on the cart as he was picking them up, totally forgetting he brought it along with him. He searched the cart and eventually came to the book. He opened it up and found where he left off.

He was on his way back to the table when he tripped over the same book cart, You have got to be kidding me... He didn't lift his head, afraid of the onlookers that had witnessed his pathetic fall. He had just picked it all up and now he knocked it over again. He sighed and started over, placing each book back on the cart. The only difference... he as the only one this time... He sat back down, mentally thanking the others for not helping and opened the book.

Tenshi opened the book and forgot where he left off. This certainly wasn't his good day. It was taking him forever to read a book about something he pretty much knew. First he couldn't find the thing, now he only read two pages! With his luck the book would spontaneously combust and then he would have to find another book to read. He gave a sigh and skimmed over the sections until he found his place.

((2 Fail))
As he was about to read, an elder Fubuki came up to him asking if he knew where a book about herbs and some other such nonsense was. He kindly told the man that he was not a librarian or even vaguely familiar with the books he was looking for. He pointed the man to the dresser type piece of furniture that housed the cards with the information of books. The man thanked him and Tenshi returned to his book.

He found his spot when the man returned. Can't I read a book? Please? The man asked about the information on the card and what it all meant. Tenshi showed him by writing down the info on the card and getting up and showing him how the letters on the bookcases and the number of shelves along with the number of the book allowed you to find the book you were looking for. The man asked if he was sure that he wasn't a librarian. Tenshi assured the man as he was thanked and walked away back to his table.

Tenshi returned to his table and the book was gone once again. What luck... He must have picked the wrong end of the stick, because things were just not going his way. Maybe he was hit a little too hard in the head during the dummy training. He scratched the back of his head and walked around looking for the book he was reading. He finally came across it on another table. Someone must have picked it up and... He saw the cart he knocked over. Oh... I was at the wrong table the entire time... hehe... oops...

((18 Pass))
Tenshi opened the book skimming over it looking for where he left off. He found it and placed a finger as he read each line:

"The five elements themselves form a cyclical strong and weak relationship against each other. The element of Fire is stronger than Wind, as the usage of Wind merely increases the strength of Fire. So if a Fire jutsu came up against an equal strength Wind jutsu, the Fire jutsu is more likely to win out. Wind in turn is stronger than Lightning. Lightning is stronger than Earth and Earth in stronger than Water. Water finishes the cycle by naturally winning out over Fire.

When creating a ninjutsu, the two methods of manipulating chakra are referred to as Shape Transformation and Nature Transformation:

Shape Transformation deals with controlling the form, movement, and potency of chakra.
Nature Transformation usually deals with changing the physical properties of chakra into an element. (There is also the Nature Transformation of Yin and Yang, but little is revealed about this)

These two methods can be implemented separately or together in order to create a ninjutsu."

The last part of it was a little confusing but he assumed the next section may clarify things a little bit. He didn't assume he needed to know everything for the exam.... or did he? His eyes became huge as he thought about how large the exam could be. Maybe it's like twenty pages of essay writing and theories and how everything works from ninjutsu to genjutsu and how doujutsu's are created along with how kekkei genkais are transferred from generation to generation and- He snapped himself out of it. He had to stop worrying about it and keep studying...

((17 Pass))
The next section went on to describe the different ranks of jutsu and the requirements for each. He couldn't imagine being able to create a tidal wave, an earthquake, or even an avalanche by simply stringing together handseals. Maybe one day he would get up to that level and stun even himself. What would he do with all that power? Surely no one really needed it, did they? He could only think of people that wanted to level cities wanting all that destructive power. What would he possibly use it for? For show? That was pretty much the only thing he could think of.

((6 Fail))
Tenshi closed the book. He had finished the rather small book easily and placed it back on the shelf where it belonged. He decided he wanted to look up more books regarding ninjutsu. He had heard of combining chakra elements to create a new element. He knew that wind and water would make ice, but he was curious of the others. He went back to the cards and pulled out the 'N' drawer once again. He pulled out one that looked promising and wrote down the info. Finding the book rather easily this time, he opened it up and skimmed the contents. It wasn't what he was looking for. It was more about the forbidden jutsu than anything.

((6 Fail))
Placing the book back he went back to the cards and tried another one. He looked at the case it was on and grabbed a step-ladder. He stood on his tip toes and fumbled it around until it fell from its place and hit him in the face. Of course, I can't do anything without getting hit somehow. He grabbed the book and gave a sigh, Not this one either... good thing I got hit trying to get it down... He placed it on a cart rather than trying to put it back up. He knew it would fall back down and hit him the same as before.

((9 Fail))
Tenshi returned to the 'card keeper' as he was now calling it. He picked up a card an looked at it promisingly. This is exactly what I need... He wrote down all the info and went to the book case he ran his fingers past the books, but didn't find the number. "Hmm...Maybe I wrote the wrong info down..." he went back and looked at the card, "No... it's correct... where is the book... He checked and saw that no one had it checked out and that it was returned months ago, meaning it should have been on the shelf. He didn't see anyone reading, and no one that would be reading a book for students. He sighed as he would now search for a missing book... or simply pick a different one.
