Sparkling Senshi

Kallichore recognized that voice and that weapon. Ah, so he was back! Maybe his nightmares finally subsided and he was pissed or something. Someone being upset made them irrational, and coming after a pair of Super senshi as a lieutenant wasn't a good idea. Sure, Ganymede was now Super as well, but would he help in a fight? Who knew. All she could count on was something ugly happening and soon. She was ready for it. Every muscle in her body felt tense with anticipation.

"Oh look, someone's back for a second helping. The first wasn't enough for you?" she asked him, a creepy smile on her face. Really, it seemed to her that this boy wanted to be a target. He was asking to be mindraped again and how could she deny such a request? She loved to see the Negaverse officers writhe and shriek about things only they could see. It brought her a sort of satisfaction she doubted the other Jovian senshi would appreciate. "I'd be happy to help you out again. Just hold still."

Kallichore didn't care how that made her sound, especially to Wolframite. He could think all he wanted about her. It all came down to driving them off and protecting the other senshi and civilians here. If she could derive some pleasure from the experience on top of that, then she was going to enjoy the fight as much as she could.

Maybe he should have waited, see what the other agent said. But that senshi, her words. He wanted to teach her a lesson, and one she wouldn't soon forget. Super senshi or not, and it wasn't arrogance speaking here it was just his utter dislike for this particular senshi. He didn't like her, her attack, or anything about her. The hold on his paintbrush was white knuckle and slate eyes narrowed into a glare.

"I see my attempts on correcting your facial appearance was in vain. Perhaps another go will do the trick?" Referring to his stabbing her face with his brush handle last time they'd met. "I won't be allowing you to try that on me again." In fact he'd be keeping as far from her hands as possible, while attempting to stab her face. He'd like to leave a nice visible reminder to her that it wasn't a good idea to cross him. Maybe in the future she'd learn, maybe she'd give up the fight? He could hope, right?

Rocking gently on his heels for a moment he launched himself right at her, brush held up as he came in with the tip. He was not about to her let her use her attack on him. He was going to try and hit the shoulder joint and keep her from wanting to move that arm. Benitoite was hoping to put enough force behind the hit to the joint area to make moving her arm painful. If that didn't work he would go back to the cat fighting, though he didn't like the idea of being seen by other agents on the ground with a senshi fighting.

Guine

Whatever her attack had done, it seemed to have deterred the negaversers long enough for the pair to make their escape. "I don't know!" Europa exclaimed in frustration as they broke free of Lyra's stinging mist. Wiping tears from her eyes, Europa took a quick scan of their location. The others would be around here somewhere - she could sense them - but the immediate area around Valhalla and herself had cleared. Maybe because of the battle unfolding. Maybe because they'd fallen behind.

"Previous plan of action still stands," Europa declared, blinking rapidly to try to clear her vision faster. God damn it, Lyra! "We go somewhere crowded, we henshin down, we disappear."

She didn't know for sure who she'd hit with her strongest attack, but it would hopefully hold them for a while. They'd already made it this far without Lyra pulling her same dirty trick again, signs were looking good for them to make a clean getaway. However, this hope was slightly diminished when they realized the way forward was blocked by another battle. Part of Europa wanted to get involved and protect her teammate, but a fight with Wolframite, on top of everything else, didn't seem that appealing.

And besides, judging by the appearance of Iris and her little helpers, Ganymede had help.

Couldn't go back, couldn't go forward. Europa whirled around and finally spotted the side-street Kallichore had come down. It looked and felt clear. She gave Valhall's wrist another tug and indicated it to him. "Let's go this way," she said, pulling him ahead.

Tomlin was shocked by how fast Hygiea went from excited to scathing. “A moving target is harder to hit,” he justified, tail swishing unhappily against Callisto’s sleeve. He wasn’t sure where he’d heard that snippet, it certainly hadn’t figured in his plans prior to that moment. His plans went no further than ‘keep Callisto safe’. Everything else was running together in a seamless string of disasters. It wasn’t that what the chibi senshi was saying was wrong – he approved wholeheartedly, and would have been glad to hear such sentiments on any other day, but he did not want to hear them pitched so harshly at his new senshi. Callisto didn’t deserve the lecture. The way she’d gone after that youma when it headed towards the civilians! No hesitation, no need to be prompted! So he’d maybe lost one of his nine lives having a heart attack when she did it, but no, she didn’t need to be told what a senshi’s role was, and he couldn’t let anything make her doubt that any more than the battlefield already was.

”Calling for...?” he repeated dumbly when Hygiea changed topics, staring down at the phone that appeared in the tiny senshi’s hands. The device looked like a normal phone, but something told the cat there was more to it than that. He watched curiously as she sent out her message, trying to get his tired mind to wrap around the magics that ran through it.

He wasn’t prepared when the back-up actually came so quickly, almost too good to be true. He didn’t recognise the new senshi – she wasn’t one of the ones whose name sprang to the tip of his tongue when he sensed them, and just for a moment, he registered how strange it was that some did but not others. The thought slipped away when the voice from street-level sounded. Hygiea’s ********* gave Callisto’s hand an apologetic lick, then wormed his way out of her grasp and dropped to the ground beside the grey cat, padding past her to look at the chaotic battle. Clear enough she hadn’t been speaking to him, but he answered anyway, before Hygiea could give her slant to what she’d seen.

“It started with a youma at the pool back that way. Callisto took it out,” this was said louder than the rest. He wanted Callisto to know how well she’d done, and not be put off by Hygeia. “Some others arrived to evacuate the civilians. It was all clear, case closed – then this whole damn army arrived. I thought” and this was very soft, an admission of failure, not something he wanted to have to say to a cat he’d just met, but he was making too many mistakes. “I thought they’d leave if we did.”

He hoped Callisto at least couldn’t hear the uncertainty in his voice.

Has the war really progressed so far?

Callisto didn't like being lectured by a little brat, and she immediately decided that Hygeia was one. Fighting was a stupid thing to be doing, she thought, especially when you might die. Running towards a fight, when you were massively outpoured? Not a good idea. She didn't want to die, she couldn't leave Shep like that. Shep needed her to look after him. She wasn't going to let some little brat goad her into being taken away from his side.

"Tomlin," she said, her tone that of surprise as he slipped out of her arms. The second he hit the ground she wanted to pick him back up and keep him safe. "We should really just go. Before they notice us again." The big red one and the tiny red one were incapacitated, she thought. And she could see one in blue going against a white-and-red clad senshi, but really everything… everything looked handled...
