One ring to rule them, one hammer to smash em.

Demi was surprised to see how resistant some of the clocks were, even to the mighty hammer.

He gave the new clock a look over and a gentle tap tap tap before going bezerk on it with a wham wham wham and the shell didn't even crack.

it just ate the blows like it was a tasty snack. And Demi just threw away the hammer in irritation.

He really didn't like these inanimate objects.

After tending to her injuries, she looks around and realizes that she's lost in the labyrinthine gym. Riptide's ears go flat, making her feel as if there are other minipets around. Knowing that tame ones can be just as dangerous as wild ones, she tries her best to backtrack and fortunately manages to find the exit. Perhaps the minipets stayed away from her, or she was just being paranoid, for during her wandering around she didn't come across any.

Nose problem forgotten Roch grabbed the hammer again as he passed the time out booth, grabbing one of the clocks and slamming the hammer into it. It popped open, revealing a PP move, which he grabbed with a little grin.

"Not the ring, sorry," he said to Time Out.

Again Roch found himself certain that he'd seen movement in the booth. He started looking around, his eyes narrowed slightly as he tried to find the source. There! He grinned, holding out a hand and whispering coaxingly to the berror that he had found. It would be way safer with him than in this booth where people kept hitting things with hammers!

Picking up a third clock, Marosa brought down the hammer and winced as it just ricocheted off, causing a little dent but no more action than that.

He thought this was going to be easy, but he was very clearly wrong, and his agitation was starting to show through; his wings bristled.

The strength with which Riley managed to hit the clock did not seem to be an issue, as she used one tentacle to wind up a slam directly into the clock's face, smashing it to bits.

It was the emptiness inside, save for the spring that popped out and bounced off against the smoothness of her featureless face, that remained the real issue. That was not a pleasant feeling..

Right so the first attempt to open the blasted thing was a failure, but that wasn't the case the second time!

Giving the clock one good whack, it cracked open; releasing a faint 'tic tic tic' sound. Curious, the black dog opened it further, only to have the Jack damned thing explode in his face.

"OW! SONUVA BI---" Yeah. That was a dud! Tossing it aside the black dog rubbed at his face and growled before going off to search for a new clock to tamper with.

Apparently the ticking noises from last time had unsettled Vero, as when it approached the clock mess this time, it was hesitant. The hammer was unwieldy in its hands, heavy after the spirit's excursions (and failures) in its second trip to the Sleuth's training gym. With a grunt, Vero let the thing drop upon one of the clocks.

Not even so much as a tink.

Is it possible that being a little physically drained made him look less charismatic than he already was? Like before, Vero attempted to spy out another small creature to take home and experiment with.

Maybe the minipets had mind powers and read its thoughts. No-one bothered shifting out of the clock pile to so much as tell it to "bugger off" in some wit-tastic fashion.

Time to try and smash a clock again! Aksaja raised the hammer high and brought it down with a yell and . . . once again nothing happened.

"WHY ARE THESE STUPID CLOCKS SO HARD TO OPEN?!!" he yelled at the room in general. Before stalking off again for a while. Jacking hell.

One ring to rule them, one hammer to smash em.

Kallos set to work on one of the clocks again, determined to help the poor, somewhat addled-seeming time demon find his ring. Hammer in hand, the little haunt nudged and inspected the clock, trying to find it's weakest point. He knew he didn't have the raw strength to bust it open, so he'd have to settle for using his brain.

After some consideration and experimental taps, Kallos finally picked a spot to smack. He brought the hammer down on the clock's apparently weakest point, and it actually broke open. Finally, success!

Kallos waited for a moment with the hammer in front of his face, waiting for a spring to pop out at him. No spring popped out though.

The clock instead exploded.

A tad frazzled, the little haunt was happy he'd hid his face before. There was a ring of dust/ash around the now hollowed corpse of the clock, soot clinging to the interior of the mechanical-thing's surface, but there was nothing inside the clock. What a shame.

Kallos decided it might be a better idea to come back later instead of pushing his luck with this clock any further.

One ring to rule them, one hammer to smash em.

He figured another clock might yield better results, after all, there were so many clocks about, one of them surely had the ring inside, if not inside then… well it was kind of fun to mindlessly go about hitting things with a hammer at the request of some time demon. Mindless destruction never hurt anyway. Well, except him a few dozen times but after attending the school for a year he was getting better at blocking and surpassing memories. It was getting to become a sort of second nature almost. After all, almost death, traumatic boat rides, and then insanity and watching other students die in front of you…Yup. He was going to work on suppressing those days.
Taking the hammer and raising it, it fell to the clock with a clank. The thing didn’t budge, but it also didn’t explode. Israfel wasn’t sure if he was more happy for the not opening, or the not exploding factor more.

Sepheran blinked. So he needed to bust open the clocks right? Well that seemed easy enough. Picking up the hammer the Basilisk felt it's weight in his hand. It was a little on the heavy side for his tastes, but it seemed sturdy enough. Now all he had to do was get Liannan to lead him in the general direction of a clock. It seemed he would just go ahead and guess and figure out the rest later.

Lifting the hammer he smashed it into a clock only to have it explode...maybe blindly picking wasn't he best idea...

Well...Sepheran was now slightly singed from his earlier attempt with the clocks. He figured the best way to continue on would be to explore the gym, after all he should at least try to go home with something today for his trouble right...?

Too his surprise he found a mini soon following behind him. Sepheran was pleased and only glad to take him home.

Time out scratched his head at the PP move being in the clock. Now how'd that get in there? Ah well, Roch was now the proud owner.
