Meme's face grew pale when he was caught in the lie, what was he going to do now? He couldn't tell the prince the real reason why he wanted to see Akito, he knew the prince would be furious. Meme tried to come up with another excuse that would get him out of this situation but as he opened his mouth, no words came out. However Meme breathed a sigh of relief when the prince left the room with his warning. Meme had to think of something, if those instruments over the bed were meant for torment then perhaps it wasn't a bad idea to leave now before he enraged his husband further.

Kuro heard the dungeon door open and close, he looked in the direction where his master came from. Giving a soft sigh, he looked over at Akito and surrendered the whip. "My master is not as forgiving as I. If you're smart you'll tell him the truth." he warned Akito before taking a step back behind Rufus and at the ready for his master's orders.

 Rufus fought the urge to growl at Kuro: he'd wanted Akito left in the dark about the fact that he was here. Still, his mood wasn't his butler's fault, so he simply steered Kuro out of the cell and moved him away so that the stable boy wouldn't hear them.
"I want you to find my husband and see to it that he's dressed in suitable, formal attire for dinner. He seemed likely to run, and I deserve to know the truth before deciding anything - he'll learn his lesson." He reached forward, holding the whip under his arm as he took off Kuro's gloves. "I need these." Once he had those on, he picked up Kuro's handkerchief. "This, too. I'll buy you more. Now please, go see to my husband. I want him occupied until half past four, when he better turn up at my door for supper in bed."

Trapped. ♫♪♫♪♫ Akito Nakamura ♪♫♪♫♪ Akito started to sweat, knowing he didn't have anything to confess to - at least, nothing the prince expected. He'd just have to take the beating and keep his mouth shut. But he couldn't see what was going on behind him. "We didn't do anything! Let me go!"
Then the door closed and he tensed, waiting to be hit. But no blow came.
Yet as he started to relax, assuming he was alone, he felt the whip against his back, coiled. "Who's there?" His question was unanswered as whoever it was kept the whip between their bodies, leaning against it as they gagged him with a handkerchief. He started to struggle, but gloved hands stilled him as a cold voice murmured into his ear.
"Oh no, you don't. You are going to tell me what I want to know, but rather than spook the Mouse with your screams... I think your punishment will have to wait. So you can hang here, waiting until I'm ready."
Akito held himself still as the prince spoke, hardly daring to breathe and unable to talk around the gag. He listened as the prince left, this time locking the door behind him.
((I wrote all that so I wouldn't spend ages rping with myself. If you want to time skip/write a little between Meme and Kuro then time skip?))

Meme had to think about this carefully, how could he get out of this mess? He would have gotten farther in his thinking but the bedroom door opened to reveal the butler. There was no use in trying to run now, Kuro would be sure to capture him if he tried. Once Meme received his instructions he headed for his own room and looked in the wardrobe. Of course there were various dresses, after all the Prince was expecting a woman for him to betroth. But there were also a few nice suits as well, he guessed that this wardrobe was used as a storage for finer outfits.
Meme picked a tasteful blue suit with black slacks and a small white ascot, he looked at himself in the mirror and almost didn't recognize himself. It definately was a change from his usual peasant garb. He wondered if Akito would even recognize him, after all the stable boy was so used to seeing Meme in farming clothes, ever since they were children. To see Meme in royal clothing would be a big change. He gave a soft sigh and wandered around the room for a moment or two before he noticed a small bookshelf with one row of books filled. Meme picked up a fantasy book, thinking he may as well do something while he waited for the prince. He sat on the bed and cracked the book open, the smell of aged pages and dust filled his nose.

Kuro left the dungeon as ordered and headed for his master's chambers where he was sure Meme was waiting. "You are to be dressed properly for dinner." he said simply as he entered the room and stood in front of the doorway. "You will find suitable garments in your own room. And I have locked your bedroom door from the outside, I must attend to the kitchen to see that dinner is being served. Master Rufus will come to collect you shortly." Kuro turned on his heel and left the room, locking the Prince's room as well, just in case Meme had any ideas.

Rufus went outside and paced by the stables. He ran his hands through his hair until he heard his horse neighing and it occured to him that a ride might be just the thing. He patted the horse's neck, smiling a little as he rested his head against the animal and felt soothed for a moment. "Hey boy..." he murmured, leading him out and getting into the saddle.
Twenty.

Soon-To-Be Wed.
Trapped. One of the servants was walking in the grounds and came across the blanket, clothes and letter from earlier that day. Thinking the Prince would want his things, he picked them up and hurried to get them back to the palace. He knocked on the Prince's door and, realising he was supposed to be helping somewhere else, slid the letter under the door and took the rest to the laundry.
((I'm thinking that this letter isn't important. Maybe something from Rufus' father, saying he won't be at the wedding due to a road blockage? But I want another letter to arrive from Rufus' real fiance, saying she doesn't want to marry him and asking for help (since the blockage has stopped her as well.) Do you like?))

Meme gave a soft sigh as he waited for Rufus to come see him. Until then he was stuck in that room doing nothing. He heard a soft knock at the door and thought for a moment that it might be Rufus, but if that were so then Rufus would have just entered the room without knocking, same with Kuro. If it was one of the servants then it was his only chance to ask them for help; he would have done it too, but the way Rufus acted earlier scared him enough for one night. Meme was sure he would only worsen his attitude if he ran and therefore decided to remain silent. He went back to reading his book when he heard something strange; Meme looked back at the door and saw an envelope being pushed under the door. His heart skipped a beat, was it really that easy in obtaining the letter from Rufus' real fiance? He didn't hesitate in retrieving the letter and reading it immediately but much to his surprise the letter wasn't from Rufus' real fiance, but from the Prince's father.
Meme's thoughts rambled a little but he ultimately breathed a sigh of relief, now he could focus on enjoying the Prince's company.

A couple hours later Kuro left for the corrale to see the Prince. "Master Rufus, dinner has been served." he called out before turning around once more to set the plates.

When Kuro came to tell him about dinner, Rufus reluctantly got off of his horse and patted him on the neck. "I'll be back tomorrow."
He entered the palace and went to his room, unlocking the door and closing it behind him. His expression blank, he ignored Meme and dressed for dinner in record time. But when he turned to tell his husband to follow him, he saw the letter. "You read my personal mail?"

Meme was a little surprised to feel contentment at the sight of Rufus entering the room and was prepared to approach him but then the Prince threw him off with his question. He had to admit, Meme didn't think about the fact that he was opening his mail without permission. "Uh.....y-yes....." he admitted defeatedly, Meme saw what happened when he lied to his husband and this time decided it was best to tell the truth this time. "I-Is dinner ready?" he asked curious, trying to change the subject so that the Prince wouldn't be too angry with him.

Rufus stared at Meme, wondering whether there was something wrong with him as he glared. "Does your family always open your mail without asking, or are you the nosy one of the bunch? How dare you read my letter? I-," he broke off, folding his arms as the anger went from his expression and he turned cold. "Well, I suppose we're even now." Without clarifying his statement, Rufus opened the door and gestured for Meme to leave through it. "After you - I suppose I'm allowed to read my letter, now you've done so?" He snatched it up, waiting for Meme to leave the room so he could close the door behind them.

Meme was so scared of Rufus getting angry with him that he could hardly feel his legs. He knew he shouldn't have opened the letter but he had to know who it was from, he hadn't even really read it. Instead of protesting Meme stood silent and gave a soft sigh when he was gestured out of the room. He kept his head hung a bit so as not to potentially annoy the Prince. "I-I'm sorry....." was all he said as they made their way to the dining room where a very nice, but quaint, feast was laid out for them with two chairs at either ends of the width of the table.

Rufus read the missive from his father, snorting at the irony that his father sent it the day after the wedding, when his lack of attendance was obvious. From the looks of it, Meme had run ahead to escape his father as well, since the King mentioned downing pints with Rufus' new father-in-law.
He sat opposite Meme, picked up his fork and ate in silence.

Rufus' silence made Meme a little nervous, of course that didn't stunt his appetite. He began to eat a little bit, wanting to say something to Rufus but he was afraid he would say something to upset Rufus more. "So....um..." he began, searching for the appropriate words to start a conversation. "...thank you for letting me borrow some clothes." he said quickly so as to get it out of his mouth but once that was said he went right back to eating.

"I could hardly have my husband arriving to dinner dressed inappropriately." Rufus murmured, not looking at Meme as he ate and waiting for his husband to drink his 'wine'.

Meme gave a soft sigh, he could tell Rufus was still angry with him. He continued to eat and decided that it was best to drink some, at least enough so that he could pass out easily. Meme took his wine glass and drank two big gulps before putting it down to resume his dinner. After a few minutes Meme started to get a little dizzy and light headed but he thought it was probably from drinking the wine too fast. It didn't take long for his eyesight to blur before he realized something was wrong. "I....need...to go to the bathroom...." he said a bit quickly, standing up from his chair but as soon as he took two steps away from it he fell to the ground in a heavy sedated sleep.

Kuro entered in just shortly after Meme had hit the floor but he was confident that Rufus knew what he was doing and didn't make a big fuss over it. He reached into his pocket and pulled out another envelope with fancy calligraphy on the outside which seemed to spell out Rufus' name. "My appologies Master, I had forgotten to give this to you earlier. I must have dropped it on my way to give you the first letter." he said softly before he gave a bow and went to go clear Meme's dishes.

Rufus winced; even though he was still furious, he didn't want to hurt Meme physically. Still, he had a lesson to teach, so he scooped Meme up and took him to their room. Meme would wake up bereft of clothing and tied to the bed. Then the prince would get some answers from his husband.
...
As Rufus waited for Meme to wake up, he placed a single towel to somewhat preserve his modesty, then leant against the door. He'd told Kuro and the servants not to come near this part of the palace, and even in emergencies only Kuro would be allowed to knock upon the door.

Meme woke up about an hour later and went to rub his eyes but something was stopping his arm movement. He tugged a little more before he looked up to see what was going on; at the sight of restraints around his wrists Meme began to panic. He looked over toward the door where Rufus stood and shivered a bit at his nakedness. "W-what is this?" he asked, terrified of the pain he was sure was awaiting him.
