Lucky for Lizzy, Mot was not too far away at the time of the text. He read it over, grinning that his expertise on gambling would actually do good. And was needed. Mot texted back on his eyephone. 'To the rescue~'.
A short while later, the tall cowboil knocked on the door to make his presence known, letting himself in shortly afterward. "Howdy~. Lizzy asked for me?" She was here, so this had to have been room 207. He lingered just inside the room by the doorway for the time being.

"Mot!" The good thing about having a reliable male friend? His reliability. She could only wish to say the same about a certain other reaper. She made her way to the door, gave him a quick hug, and took his arm, tugging him towards the rest of the group.
"I hope you don't mind, but I sort of volunteered you into the group in charge of decorations," She smiled sheepishly at him as she took her seat again; she had a feeling he would agree to help, and she was right!
"So, any ideas on what sort of props we might need?" Her question was directed at everyone within earshot, "I mean, anything specific you would like to see?"

Ah, yes, the hug. Lizzy and hugs were synonymous with one another. He gladly returned the quick hug, and allowed himself to be dragged to the table, where he took a seat of his own beside Lizzy. "I don't mind. I love helping~." He did. Loved it. Mostly cause it gave him brownie points. Also cause it made him feel good to help.
Mot leaned back in his chair, his hands folded on his ribs, fingers interlocking as he pondered the theme of the prom. He had done him some thinking on his way over since the text message, thinking back to all the places he'd gambled previously.
He wanted to hear what others had to say, of course, but being passionate about gambling, he had to get the ball rolling. "How about making the tables look like poker tables? Streamers with dice strung through, and even making the chairs backs look like cards?"

Cady moved into the doorway to make room for the reaper boil that popped in after her, and made a few tentative steps toward Aislin. Sugar was... Allowed here? She needed to investigate this phenomenon.
"But it's bad for your teeths, and I have lots of them," she stated matter-of-factly, opening her mouth to show off several rows of serrated whiteness. She grinned as she spotted Aislin though, and quickly walked toward the familiar face.
"Hi Lizzy! I'm Cady," she added belatedly. "Is this a meeting? Decorations?" For once, she couldn't get a word in edgewise. She sidled up to Ash, whispering in the ghoul's ear rather loudly. "Pssst! Hey! What are you guys up to? Is it fun? Does it involve food?"

"Huh?" said Ren, dragged away from Nukpana talking, his eyes catching the surprised expression on Vaith's face as the reaper mouthed a question to him. He blinked, gaze flickering first at the approaching Xiu, then quickly back to his friend.
"Yeah," he answered with a smile. "Which is why I'm telling you that you should ask...you know. To the dance. It would be fun. Maybe we could even double, though I don't know if you'd want that. Either way, I think you should."
The arrival of the ghoul in question made him stop talking, and Ren smiled up at her. "Yes, I was thinking of volunteering," he said. "What about you? What are you planning on helping with?"
Vaith was back to looking like his old self. Ren felt a small smirk cross his face. "Kindly excuse the Old Man here," he said to Xiu, giving Vaith's arm a playful push. "He seems to have forgotten that it's polite to volunteer for things."
He grinned at his friend to let him know he was just teasing, then gave a casual shrug, scratching his head with his bandaged hand. "I was thinking of volunteering for decorating, actually," Ren answered thoughtfully, his tail flicking absently into his lap. "I mean, I have wings, so it would help for the harder to reach stuff. I can't cook, so that's out of the question, really."

"Tsk tsk, Vaith! Ren is right, it's only polite to volunteer your services!" She wagged her finger at him, though the big smile on her face showed that she was obviously teasing, "Besides, it would be nice to have everyone work together, no?" It was Xiu's first school dance, and she wanted to contribute as much as she could to it to make it perfect. Dateless or not, she fully expected and intended to enjoy herself that evening. Pictures, music, and friends--what more could she ask for, really?
"Having you as a decorator would be helpful!" Xiu agreed, nodding her head enthusiastically at Ren, "As for me, I want to help Junko with the food, though I might try to make some decorations too if needed." She was handy with glue and scissors, but considering her stature, the actual putting up of decorations didn't seem like the type of job she would excel in. Cooking, on the other hand, she could do.
Facing Vaith, she tilted her head up at him, "So, what about you? Can you cook? Though..." She suddenly frowned, her brows knitting together as she tried to think, "You don't really have to be good at cooking either, right? Just being able to measure ingredients, chop things and so on would be a big help too." At the very least, it would make everything go faster, and Xiu was sure they would have to make a variety of dishes to suit all of the students at Amityville.

"Oh, come on, when was I ever polite?" Vaith nudged back, although his face remained forever stuck in a frown, his nudging of the other boil and light tone indicated otherwise. He tipped his head, to lean against Ren's shoulder, with a careless familiarity. Xiu was enthusiastic enough to take over Vaith's share, his distracted tone answering her, as if in automatic mode. "M'hm. Nice .." His posture and tone was a little lethargic, eyelids closing .. Only for a moment, he promised himself.
Only a moment it was, as Xiu directed her attention back towards him. Visibly, he shook off the sleepiness, straightening his back a little. "Oh. M'hm. Ren's in decorating and you're in the cooking crew." He looked up, mentally trying to list the pros and cons of each. Essentially, the only pro was that a friend was on each team. Did he have to choose between Ren and Xiu? Xiu sounded like she'd appreciate his help .. but hanging out with Ren was cool.
Vaith realized the bigger question here: Why was he making a choice?
His thoughts ended with an unexpected line, that he didn't expect himself to choose either.
"I'll do both."

"Never," Ren said in a deadpan answer to Vaith's question, but then he grinned, shaking his head as the other leaned against him. He had a feeling the reaper was falling asleep already, judging by the very noncommittal murmurs he was making, but at least it gave Ren time to talk to Xiu.
"I think that's what I'll do, then," he said, smiling up at her. "Decorating should be pretty fun; I mean, and I can help out with the higher stuff so it'll look better. I'm not sure what else needs help with, but decorating is something I can do, so I wanna do it."
Despite the fact that he still felt a little out of place not knowing many people that well on the committee, Ren did want to help in some way. He was looking forward to prom, probably more than he was letting on, so helping to set up was at least something small he could do.
"You should help cook, then," he said encouragingly to Xiu, with a sideways glance at the lethargic Vaith. "I know I can't cook to save myself, and I'm sure you'll make delicious foods.
Her question directed to Vaith was answered with another mumble before the reaper shook himself awake again, sitting back upright. "Yes, he can cook," Ren answered for him, grinning cheekily. "I still need to have him make me dinner one night."
His eyebrows lifted when he answered "I'll do both." It was a slightly surprising gesture for the reaper to be so...er, accommodating, but at least it meant that both Ren and Xiu had their friend to chill with, which was a nice thought. He smiled widely, clapping a hand on the reaper's shoulder.
"So Vaith n' me will help out on decorations, and Xiu and Vaith will help out with cooking."

"There's been spiked punch before?" Jericho asked with a raised brow. That must have been one hell of an event. Shaking his head to himself, he looked towards Lizzy and grinned widely.
"Dice. We'll need lots of dice for sure. Maybe dice lanterns or something like that," he nodded before waving to Mot upon the reaper's arrival.
Glancing towards the other boys in the room, Ren and a reaper he wasn't too familiar with, he nodded again as it seemed they were going to be joining the decorations team as well.

Maritess had taken to simply drifting in the background, listening as other students volunteered and were volunteered into groups. She was so-so in the kitchen, not a whiz of any sort, but she could keep food from burning (undead do not like fire. At all. So that was a no-brainer, so to speak) and was more than willing to offer several helping hands.
"I-if you need a helping hand or five I might be able to provide the needed count. A-and um, I can help with the cooking too? J-just no direct contact with fire please?" the winged vampire requested.

Mot gave a wave to Jericho. The boil seemed keen on the dice idea. "Lanterns shaped like dice? Great idea!" Mot nodded. The whole idea of casino themed prom had the reaper all a tingle with joy.
This prom comity was pretty cool.He liked the social interaction. Why hadn't he thought of joining before? Good thing Lizzy was around to drag him into things!

"Welcome aboard, Ren and Vaith!" She grinned at the boils; they might not know each other that well (yet), but both of them seemed friendly, even if the reaper... Had not smiled yet.
"Yes, Cady! We're having a meeting to decide on the food and decorations for prom," She smiled at the ghoul just as she moved away to Aislin.
"Let's get organized, shall we?" She giggled softly to nobody in particular as she took out her eyephone yet again; she had came unprepared, without paper and a pen. The eyephone's note application was the closest thing to a pen and paper at the moment; she was apt at typing using the eyephone from her many texts to her friends anyway, and she could always transfer the notes onto paper later, if they need a hard copy!Note - Poker tables - Streamers with dice strung through - Dice lanterns - Never not dice? "Yes, spiked punch... We do not like to speak of it. Oh! Mr Jericho, I'll be leaving the purchase of dice to you, since we might need some for games and maybe for decorating the tables," She raised an eye brow at the dragon, "Unless you don't mind lending us some of yours?" She wasn't hopeful though; she had seen for herself how protective he could get over his treasure... It would be bad to send him on a rampage during prom. Very bad.
"Hm... How about the prom photo booth backdrop?" She asked, tapping at the screen of her eyephone gently, "Should we keep with the theme and use lots of dice as well? Maybe some... Giant cards? Or should we go with something more Oogie Boogie?"

Still keeping his post by the door, afraid to interfere with the official business, Christof shifted anxiously as he held his breath when the Manticore swept in. Just... just... stay quiet and she won't notice you. She seemed plenty distracted by the countless other people she could talk ears off of.
Instead, he tried to focus on the meeting at hand, mind furiously trying to figure out what he could possibly offer.
Gingerly, he mentally reached out, hoping Riley was listening, I could... make some things if needed, Mistress? I would not like to answer questions, though, I am not good at that, please.

Indeed, the reaper's answer had come as quite the surprise, but definitely not a bad surprise. On the contrary, upon hearing this, Xiu began to beam at Vaith, clasping her hands together in front of her and staring at him wide-eyed. "Really? That's great, Vaith!" Her tail swished back and forth in an expression of excitement (though it a bad habit really, as Bakus weren't usually the tail-wagging types) and she smiled at the two boils. "It'll be nice having both of you help!"
Having been distracted by talking to Vaith and Ren, Xiu had been a bit oblivious to the conversations going on around them. However, she did catch Lizzy mentioning spiked punch, which earned an eyebrow raise from the Baku. That certainly didn't sound...pleasant. Hopefully no spiking would take place during prom, though if it did happen...
You know what? Xiu was just going to give the punch bowl a wide berth.
"I kind of like the idea for giant cards as a backdrop," She piped up, though she looked a little uncertain at voicing her opinion, "Maybe some dice, but...but not too many? And some small lights on the backdrop might look nice too?" Or at least, that's what she thought when she thought "casino": flashy lights.

Everyone else seemed to be in a frenzy about a bunch of other things that Ash really didn't care too much about. She was the DJ. Music was her main concern. She had plenty of songs to dance to in mind but slow songs... those were always so hard to hit the right key on. Either nobody would like them or only a few people would like it or it would turn out to not really be a song that anyone could dance to...
So while they fussed over cake and streamers and everything else Aislin continued to consider music. Or rather she would have continued if Cady hadn't shown up. It was a bit of a surprise to see her here of all places. Eyes opened in surprise, she looked over the other ghoul before giving a dismissive wave of her hand and a flip of her floating hair. "It's Prom Committee. We're deciding how things should be set up. You know, like decorations, food, punch... music." She said the last word very pointedly, raising her voice to be heard above the chatter of everyone else.
Crossing her arms over her chest she cocked a hip. Still standing close to Riley. "You know all of that other stuff is good and all but it wouldn't really be a dance without good music. Right?"
