@Isa: Oh, so we're all down the same hole...fun...
I don't get it, they send us to all these cool places to learn, but once we're there, no one has the time to teach us anything, and the stuff's too expensive to play with until we figure it out...
Sounds like you have a couple of fun options to play with though...Either of those is asking for time spent in cool places blaugh I asked where you were since the area I grew up in is big on ocean sciences...It's not the gulf coast though...its on the other coast...

@Siber: I understand completely...I don't eat red meat IRL, but when the group of high-school kids I was on a tour with begged to stop at McDonalds, I went with it for some familiar-tasting fries.

@the insanity: I'm sure this is cliche, but insanity is fun! mrgreen 3nodding

Okay! Update is up and AP are updated! A quick note: now is a good time to start creating good reasons to have vehicles. The distance from Woodmount to Glenville is about 70 miles, from Riverdale to Glenville about 120 miles, and from Cliffshire to Glenville about 80 miles. Members riding from Riverdale (assuming you're all coming), please recall that Grove is in your way. Everyone who is on this mission: cars, ATVs, and motorcycles exist, and are available in order of respectively increasing abundance (i.e., motorcycles are basically the most efficient way for anyone to travel, because they're light and require very little gasoline. As iD said in the description of character types, geezers are the most likely to have any of these, but anyone with sufficient explanation as to why the local "government" hasn't confiscated their most at-hand mode of transport is free to grab one. All I ask is that you, via your in-RP writing skills, clear it with me and/or iD first. Cool? Cool! Good to be back ^.^

Sorry, I was being imprecise...I probably should have used crazyness coefficient rather than insanity, but insanity coefficient sounded so much better...

...heck, from one definition I heard, to repeat the same action and expect wildly different results is insanity, which makes Lexi insane, since she definitely expects the world outside Woodmount to be way different...

...though, doesn't that description also describe quantum mechanics?...ugh, no wonder I was going nuts last quarter...

Quantum mechanics is the universe looking at mankind, looking at all the stuff we've done, and deciding these guys suck. Hard.

Quantum mechanics is the science of OH GOD WHY.

@Siber/iD My AP has not been updated, just in case you weren't aware of that fact.

@godmodding thank you for moving us along, I was waiting slightly impatiently to post again ^ ^;;;

Hopefully what I've done is acceptable. Paul's house has, historically, been a center of stolen stuff. And it'd be an interesting change from the last time around to have an actual four-wheeled, two-doored vehicle moving around.

Bayer: Based on your in-game description and the fact that operating at max capacity and a full tank of gas with no significant extra load a Hilux can go about 750 km without requiring a refill, I present you half a tank of gas and 60% capacity (engine, tire, and axel wear and tear, etc.). Mathematics says that means you can go 225 km, which gets you all the way to Glenville and halfway back if you follow roads and take a direct route.

Arthuritis: Siber is the fool. Updates have been made. Also, poke and prod lily's brain now and then, and she is more likely to update more frequently razz

Shaula and Isa: What you mean by "What aspect of biology/geography should I study?" is "Which model organism should I work with once I finally realize that the One True Calling (the voice of the mew) desireth that I study molecular evo/devo?" ^___^ Right?

Everyone: There will be updates today in the Locales section; Siber went drinking last night with the very few other U.S. Americans here who have any sort of desire to celebrate their country and it appears he became marvelously lucid at about 3:30 am, so we now have lots of information to share about Woodmount, a little bit to append to Glenville, and I will finally post things about Grove.

SIber, please warn Paul to avoid sudden sharp turns with the Hilux.

That is all.

I apologize, but I will be unable to post for a few days at least. My Great-Grandfather died on the 4th and I'll be attending his wake and pallbearing for the funeral. I have my draft for my post on my other computer which I didn't bring and couldn't use anyways because my Grandmother doesn't have wireless internet. I shall try my best to post again either Friday night or Saturday at the latest.

@everyone: I would just like to say that Ramsden is indeed not insane, but probably the biggest sadist you will ever meet or hear of, and completely sociopathic towards anyone above the age of 17. Unless you consider being a sociopath insane, then yes he is insane.

Hey. Even if the Hilux does turn over, it will not die. Ever. Top Gear proved as much.

Arthuritis: Eeesh. Don't sweat it, you lost a loved one. Be with your family, do what you gotta do.

I laughed perhaps a little too hard.

I will not apologize for the extent and vehemency of my laughter.

I'm loving all this character interaction. When the next AP update comes (likely Monday, I think), pretty much everyone will be getting presents. For now, we have some AP to discuss (and any that went undiscussed, please inform me).

Ω, I have to charge you for some of your equipment. I'm thinking two for the full-body kevlar, two for the blowguns and goggles (would be more but I think they're awesome), and four for the M16/sniper combo. Yes, I know Dirk has money, but in a society where the military basically rushed in and took over, money isn't a currency - reputation is. So that's a total of 8, which can be reduced to 6 if you write in some SCIENCE about the goggles and blowgun and 4 if you detail Dirk's apparently both very military and very tech-savvy past.

To inform you all, I've spoken with lily and Bayer about their respective vehicles. Lily's is TRULY FANTASTIC and will cost her only 2 AP because she went to so much awesome to fully describe it; I cannot wait until it is revealed. Bayer's, I learned, approaches invincibility (minus, you know, grenades and bullets and such) and as a veteran it's less likely he has a car, so I am deducting 3 AP (would be more, but it's not technically armored, windows aren't bulletproof, no special upgrades, Paul's been sitting out there as a buffer for a few years, etc., etc.).

Juno, Lexi, and Stetson are getting their handguns for free (unless the local geezer(s)/veteran(s) take them) because the people who went chasing after them were armed (moral: loot the bodies). These handguns are single-action, 22-caliber Smith & Wessons (cheap, point-and-shoot, don't forget the safety).

Final Word of God the Mew the True Prophets of the Immaculate and Invulnerable Mew: veterans generally have, on average, more weaponry or otherwise immediately applicable, hands-on ability; geezers generally have, on average, less weaponry and more specialized knowledge, gadgets, or vehicles (plus, you know, powerful pokémon); young'ns for the moment just have to trust that their blessings are coming ^_^ When you deviate from these things, it will cost AP without good history/reasoning.
