Meanwhile, on the ground, Namir prowled, sticking to the trail as best he could. When it grew stronger, he paused and sniffed a pile of blood soaked leaves. "Bat, get down here," he called.

Αελλα ignored the unwelcomed nickname and made an abrupt landing beside the walker, the scent of blood obvious in the air. "Nice work, Spots!" she grinned wickedly at the messy mass.

"They stopped here," he frowned. "One tended to the male's wounds." He sniffed. "These herbs will stave off infection... odd that one of their number knows how to treat skinwalker wounds..."

"Well lucky me," she smirked. "Big brave skinwalker's gonna help me finish this hunt, I mean..." she grinned. "I will of course assist you in your pursuit of the feisty flyers. I didn't really have anything else on my plate this evening. On with the hunt?" she asked unfurling her great bat-like wings.

Namir snarled. "Are you mocking me?" he demanded, his temper snapping. He had reached the end of his very limited patience and couldn't figure out why he had ever thought she would be useful.

She shrugged apathetically, "No more than I have been this entire day. Honestly I'd thought you'd just gotten used to it. But back to business, and more tracking. The trail will be more difficult to follow once night falls. Might as well make as much progress as we can now."

He growled, once again wondering why on earth he was putting up to her. He decided to put the question to her, as they walked. The trail was clear enough, and it was going in one direction. Besides, he was clearly an adept multitasker. He could interrogate the overgrown blue bat and still follow a trail without much effort. Though, if she truly needed his assistance in finding their prey, then she clearly couldn’t be quite so capable…
When did it become THEIR prey? He growled again and shook his head, not appreciating the turn his thoughts had taken. Quickly, he corrected that mental mistake. HIS prey. She was supposed to be helping him, not the other way around.
“What use have you been, exactly?” he demanded. “Were you not supposed to prove yourself invaluable to this hunt? Yet I have done all the work.”

"I can see the world as they do while you are confined to the ground," she said smoothly. "Although as they seem to have made more ground much faster than anticipated, and since one is bleeding, your wolffish sense of smell is proving invaluable," she added with a smirk. "There, does that satisfy your bruised ego?"

"In order for my ego, as you put it, to be bruised, I must first care for your opinion," he growled. "And this isn't about MY contributions to the hunt, this is about yours. You claim you have the advantage from the sky, but thus far that hasn't proven very advantageous. Remind me, one more time, bat mare, what exactly is keeping me from killing you now?"
He managed, barely, to bury his irritation long enough to scrape up minimal interest in what she might actually say in her own defense. Not that he had much hope. Such a feeble minded female couldn't possibly come up with a decent argument. Not one good enough to counterbalance all the frustration she had caused him.

"Oh that, that's easy," she said lightly taking back to the air on her glorious "bat-like" wings. "I can fly faster than your big bad fangs can snap. Besides," the mare muttered. "You wouldn't move nearly as fast on a fat, full belly.."

"I never said anything about eating you," he scoffed. Doubtlessly the spiteful mare would take a great deal of pleasure choking him on the way down. And that was if she didn't leave a nasty bitter aftertaste.
