Hearing the woman's story brought sadness and concern in Colette's eyes. She didn't like the thought of those rumors being true, but it seemed that they are indeed true.
"This is terrible news indeed." Phaidra said. "Unfortunately, these rumors are true. Just recently, people in our village have gone missing as well."
"But what does this all mean?" Colette asked with concern in her voice. Though hearing Cinkel's offer to help the woman made her feel better. Her blue eyes would gaze over to the woman. "I will gladly help in any way I can as well." She said with a friendly smile on her face.

"I'm an acquaintance o' Dirk, actually! I'm Jason, nice ta meet ya." He nodded up at Phaidra. The others seriously towered over him. "Hope he didn't go missin'! That would just be completely terrible! He has job opportunities!"
"I'm up for helpin' out too. Do you happen ta drink at all?" He spoke to the newcomer. He really hoped she did- One does not simply drink alone all the time.

Lloyd looked at the woman crying and walked over to her, putting his hand on her shoulder. "Don't worry. We'll find your brother! No sweat!" he smiled casually. After all, how hard was it to find a bunch of missing villagers?

The offers of help gave the woman confidence, and she stood up straight and smiled, pushing back the hood of her cloak. It revealed a blonde woman with pale blue eyes, not as bright as the Chosen's, and they were slightly hidden behind a pair of glasses. Her face was pale, but there was strength in it as well as kindness. "Thank you," she said, her voice still slightly shaking, "Thank you so much, all of you."
She was particularly impressed by the dwarf and tall young man. The Chosen and Lloyd were heroes, had proved their worth and finding a boy and other missing people probably wouldn't pose them much of a challenge. But two random people who just happened across the scene? It was amazing.
"My name is Lelia, I work as a researcher and scientist for the royal family of Tethe'alla. Technically a librarian too, since if the books aren't in order they won't help me much when I need to find one. And I won't be just a burden, I promise. I can fight some, and I've been working on some devices that can sort of resemble magic." She bowed. "It's a pleasure to meet you. And no, Sir Jason, I'm afraid I don't drink. A bit dangerous in my line of work."

Cinkel's smile brightened. "No wonder you're so pretty. You're a researcher. Those are always pretty. Researchers and scientists and librarians." Cinkel's fondness of the intellectual woman was showing obviously. "Oh." He returned Lelia's bow with a small one of his own. "My name is Cinkel. It is a pleasure to meet you. I wish it were on better circumstances."

Lloyd smiled and looked at Colette "We should go look for them pretty soon." he said. "Hey Lelia, what is your brother's name?"

As she listened to Lelia's introduction, Colette became curious when Lelia mentioned about devices that sort of resembled magic. "You can use magic?" She asked. Her attention then shifted over to Cinkel. "We have a friend who is a researcher." ^.^
Phaidra gives a nod in acknowledgement to Jason. She watched the group as she too wonder what could be the cause in all of this.
Colette would then gaze over to Lloyd. "Of course." She said. "Does Dirk know anything about these rumors?"

Lloyd shook his head. "I didn't get the time to ask him." he said looking at Colette. This was getting kinda confusing, but he would try his best to follow.

The young woman decided to address the replies in turn, first the tall young man who called himself Cinkel. "Actually researchers and scientists and librarians are usually pale and stunted like me, but I thank you nevertheless Sir Cinkel," Lelia said with smile and a nod. "And the sentiment is likewise."
"Take all the time you need Sir Lloyd, you're doing me a great favor by agreeing to help me. And his name is Jorian, Jorian...Akolade. He and my sister were adopted by the young lord Nicholas Akolade and his wife quite a few years ago. They're...rather distraught over this and unlikely to be of much help until we find where he's been taken." With aplomb the blond woman shifted over the uncomfortable patch of her speech and continued on to respond to the Chosen.
"I beg your pardon, Chosen One," she said respectfully, "I can't use magic directly. I'm only human, as you can see. But I've invented these," and she pulled back her sleeves to reveal what looked like a pair of silver bracelets, "And they convert small bits of mana into energy that resembles elemental spells, and I'm working to perfect their healing abilities as well. They're not complete by any means, but they do come in useful in a pinch."

"Alright! I'll just scream out his name until he comes!" Lloyd smiled, thinking another brilliant plan had just came together.

Cinkel nodded at her response. "Please. Don't call me sir. I don't believe to be worthy of such formalities." He leaned forward slightly when Lelia mentioned this wealthy family. "Where would this family live?"
When she pointed out her bracelets, Cinkel put a hand to his chin in thought.
-So, that's what I felt earlier.-
He reached slightly as if to touch her invention and looked at her. "May I?"
At Lloyds 'brilliant' plan, Cinkel looked his way. "Do you think he would be able to hear you if he wasn't here, Sir Lloyd?" He smiled respectfully.

"Please, call me Colette." Colette said with a soft smile on her face. She gazed at the silver bracelets. "Sounds like fun." ^.^ She would then look over at Cinkel when he asked where Lelia's family live, then would look back at Lelia.

It took a moment for Lelia to collect herself. This...is our great hero? But no, that was silly, his record spoke far louder than some random comment. He was probably joking. "Thank you Colette," she said to the other blonde girl, bowing slightly again.
Her attention was tugged at by Cinkel's question. It was a little odd, but not uncalled for. "They live in Meltokio, of course, near the palace. Oh!" she flushed slightly from embarassment, "I'm not their daughter. They adopted my little sister and brother while they wre in the lord's care, I was in service to the royal family by then. I was happy, they received better care than I ever could've provided, even on the salary I recieve now. And better protected..." Her face grew troubled again. "Or at least so I thought."
It cleared again as Cinkel asked if he might touch her gauntlets. "Of course S-...Cinkel. Just be careful. If you like I'll even teach you to use them once we're a little way out of town, although they probably won't fit your wrists very well," Lelia told him with a smile. She didn't bother trying to explain how they worked in exacts, she was enough of a social person to know that nobody would really care that much about the specifics.

"Hhmm... I guess I hadn't thought of that... Hey! Maybe we can ask the professor or Genis!" Lloyd said with a huge grin on his face. "They could built something to make our voices louder!"

"Hm." Cinkel hummed softly. "Meltokio, huh? I knew they sounded familiar. I heard their name once before on my last visit to be exact." He cupped her wrist and bracelet in his hand, running a finger across the band.
-It feels strange. Almost familiar?-
Cinkel smiled at her when she made her offer to teach him. "They don't seem to be able to fit me. Huh? Well, perhaps you can show me sometime. You can tell me how it works over dinner or something." His eye sparkle with excitement. "I'm always interested in these things. New technologies. New advancements. It always amazes and interests me. I usually find time to tinker with things, but never have I made something like that." Cinkel then realized that he is starting to ramble. Blushing, he let go of her wrist. "Oh, sorry. I don't mean to rant."
Lloyd once again gained Cinkel's attention. "Something to make your voice louder. Huh? Do you think they could make something strong enough for the entire world to hear? That might be what it would take." He was now humoring Lloyd.
