Skulls, all those skulls, Damien was glad to have been able to get through that fight and keep his cranium intact, but this fog; this eerie, mysterious fog just loved to mess with him. How can you be on a trail, get whisked away into a massive fight against a reaper with a skull fetish, and then get whisked back to where you were originally? It just wasn't right.
Damien decided to cut his barking short and get back to the trail, which was rapidly becoming harder and harder to see as the fog settled in once again.

And there it was. Footprints, and they were fresh. A chance to get some answers! He just couldn't pass the opportunity up, not even considering that it could be another cloaked enemy ahead. He made haste, as the trail got wider and wider and the faint sounds of chatter could just barely be heard. He turned at a bend, giving an estimation that whatever he was tracking was probably a few minutes ahead.

How wrong he was, there they were. Students. All sense of formality went out of his head as he recognized a few faces that were present in the attack not too long ago, and decided to just present his question plain and clear.
"Alright, what the Jack is happening here?"
They could never say he wasn't direct about it, as he tried to catch his breath while staring them down.

You're right. Riley slipped everything back into her backpack, and slung it over her shoulders. Scouting it is. Let's meet back here in a half hour, don't go too far. Would they even be able to find 'here' in this fog again? She was unsure.. The best thing she could do was to make sure there was a non-visual method of returning. She brought a finger to her tentacle, and it latched on - cutting a round circle on her skin. She used the blood that dripped from her finger, and left a swath of it on a nearby rock.

Looking up at Jericho, she gave him a crescented gaze. Hope you have a good sense of smell. See you soon.

Riley was usually the kind of person to want to keep people grouped or in teams. Unfortunately, with Malodore still missing from the fog, she was a little.. off. She wanted some time alone, and this would be the perfect chance to get it. She wandered down a different path, disappointed at how little she could see as she traveled.

She found the edges of a shallow lake start to lip at her feet, and looked down at the water. It reminded her briefly of the ocean they had been swimming in during their boat trip.. and the fish within it..

She was still a bit peckish, after all. A few fish might be exactly what she needed. Plus, she did enjoy a nice swim. And she was still in her bathing suit, after all. This was enough to convince her to flick her shoes off, and peel her jacket and pants off of her body. She stuffed all of this into her backpack, and hid it behind a rock.

A nice swim would do her a world of good.

She waded into the water, heading for the deeper middle as quickly as possible. That's where the fish would be, after all..

"Sounds like a plan," nodded Jericho as he watched Riley mark the area with her blood. It was a good idea, seeing how there was no telling when the fog could get thick again. He wasn't sure how else they could make sure they'd be able to return here when their sight wasn't something to be relied on.

"Take care."

The dragon was just about to pick another direction to start scouting as well, when an unfamiliar voice caught his attention. Turning towards the source, he saw a student he hadn't really seen around before. He would have been a little wary because of this, but he saw the skull pin.

"That's a good question," he answered somewhat gruffly, "Apparently we're all stranded on this island with hostile Reapers out for us. I don't know what else there is to it, but I have my suspicions."

Pausing for a bit, he looked over the hellhound.

"You new to Amity?"

It was strange, Damien could have sworn that there was more than one person on this trail, there were numerous types of prints, but there was only one person there for now. He decided not to mention it for now, more important questions needed to be addressed anyways.

Reapers. He was told about them from his old lessons, sadly it wasn't much more than 'They have weapons and look like normal meat puppets.' Guess there were more to them than he thought. "Stranded? I take it that the lot of you all didn't travel here by the portal at the base camp? And that skull reaper.." he said with much distaste, "He's not from the academy?"
Where has his manners gone? "Yeah, I just arrived at Amity, and wound up here" he said with a flat tone, not exactly sure where "here" really was. "Sorry for coming off so brash, its been a lot to process, names Damien." He said plainly as he offered his hand as a way of saying that he was on the up and up, a sign of peace.

Jericho shook his head at Damien, though he took a moment to try and recall what portal he was talking about. He did vaguely remember seeing something like that near the supplies tent.

"Most of us spent the past week on a boat coming here," he grumbled, "And if that guy is apart of the school, then something is seriously Jacked up. The ones attacking us aren't affiliated with Amity as far as I know. None of the reapers at the school... staff or student dress like that anyway."

The dragon didn't have anything against Reapers in general, but he really wasn't liking what was going on here. Hearing the name, he paused. Wasn't there a Damien on groanspring? He supposed it didn't matter a whole lot if it was the same person.

"Jericho's the name," he replied and shook the other's hand, "I kinda know how you feel. My first experience with the school was... an insane field trip as well. At least you didn't have to go through any train crashes or shipwrecks."
PostPosted: Fri Mar 18, 2011 7:19 pm

Damien couldn't imagine walking past the skull reaper in the hall, or in the same classroom with him. That wasn't exactly a comforting image. "A boat ride?" he said, recalling all the splintered wood on the beach and sections a seaweed laying on top of everything. "I take it that the ride didn't end well, considering the mess all over the place back there." He kinda felt bad for getting here the easy way compared to the others, not by much, but he still kinda felt bad for them.

At least it was nice to know that the school wasn't plagued by masses of people in black cloaks.

He shook Jericho's hand with an impish grin on his face, glad to know that there were a at least a few kind people stranded here too. "Nice to meet you Jericho. you arrived by a trip as well..... and wait.... train crashes?" This school must really love its destruction, the gnomes really must love the time away from them as well. "And all this happened on the faculty's watch?" How lenient was this school anyways?

"My boat went down and I can guess the same for the other seven as well. As for the faculty, they seemed to have disappeared when the boats crashed. Aside from Hellma giving us a pep talk after the train crash, there were no signs of them either," Jericho recalled, "We'll just have to make due without them."

Personally, the dragon wanted revenge for being mocked and used essentially. Pulling that off won't be all too easy unfortunately, seeing how the students were definitely at a disadvantage on this island in more ways than one.

"Speaking of, one of my fiends and I were scouting around the area to try and get a better feel of things. She already went off, but you're welcome to come if you'd like," he offered.

Seeing how the guy was brand spanking new to the school, he was probably feeling more lost than the rest of them. Having an extra set of eyes (and another nose) on his 'patrol' wouldn't hurt.

"Maybe we could find some of the others we lost track of in the fog.."

No faculty, its just the academy students, Damien felt like he was some sort of backup troop now because of what happened. it didn't sound so bad, its better than sitting in a desk, hearing a lesson getting droned out. Plus, they just might need any help that they could get.
"That explains it! I was sure that there were more people on this path." He was so thankful that his tracking abilities weren't completely impaired by the relentless fog, it was the last thing he needed after this low visibility situation.

"Sure, I'd be glad to help however I can!, If those reapers return , we might need more support." It really was much better than running around in unknown territory without anybody knowing he was here, if something was to happen, he would have no assistance at all.

.... Copper...

The faint scent of copper was in the air. It wasn't much, but it was there. "Is someone bleeding, your not injured are you?" It wasn't much of a problem to take Jericho back to camp if he was injured, if they weren't attacked on the way that is.

. . . .well then. In Savior's case ignorance was bliss for most things since she'd been too busy chasing after the flashlight she'd kicked over to really notice what was going on. It wasn't until she'd looked up to see people fighting, then not fighting, that the Marrowstripe even understood that something was going on and other people were around.

Had she been called to? Where were people going? If she had a mouth to frown with then Savior certainly would have been frowning, deeply, but it would have been out of confusion. Instead her eyebrows just lowered down until it looked as through she were crossed and confused, but that expression quickly passed as her scent came on a faint wind. It was very, very soft and she would have missed it if she wasn't paying attention, and Savior turned to look at the group of boys near her before she slinked over to them, the knapsack back on her body and her movements on all fours.

" . . . . . Scent." She was, of course, speaking to Jericho. For the life of the monster she couldn't remember him, but she could certainly remember her smell.

Nodding to Damien, Jericho soon tilted his head. He quickly remembered why there would be the scent of blood about, however.

"No. I got into a fight with one of those cloaked guys earlier but I don't think he cut me anywhere. You might be smelling Riley's blood," he answered while pointing to the rock that had some blood smeared onto it now, "She marked this area as a means to find it again in case the fog thickens. We're to meet back here in awhile."

Speaking of scents, a strong citrus smell hit his nose right about then. He would have thought someone had found an orange to eat, if he didn't see Savior in the area. She was on all fours for whatever reason, and... did she just call him 'Scent'?

"I'm Jericho.. not Scent," he frowned. Surely she hadn't forgotten about beating him down over a dead Kushi... right?

" . . . Jeko. Scent." Jericho was obviously too much of a mouthful for Savior to say even if she understood that it was was she needed to be saying, and the monster rose up from how she'd been standing and slowly reached a hand out towards the dragon-monster, the tip of her finger bending inward as though she were cracking her knuckle. She didn't touch him however and instead had her hand pause over where her finger would have plunged into her flesh, the expression on her face perplexed. For the life of Savior she could not remember this person yet he smelled very faintly of her! Surely they must have met before?

It took the Marrowstripe a moment or two before she could figure out the proper words to be speaking and it was as if a light went on in her head. "Ah, youse." She pulled her hand back and cracked her fingers one more time before giving a swift jab to Jericho's chest, her knuckles hitting the exact spot where she'd stabbed him not overly long ago. "Scent. There."

"It jumped you man?" Damien gave the dragon an puzzling look. Seems that the figures came to them as well as dragging they away to fight on their terms. A dangerous set of foes to come across, they like to use the element of surprise.

"Ah, is that so? " He walked over to the rock and tried to remember the scent for future reference, it might save their lives. " I'm a decent tracker so it won't be hard to find this place again, I take it you can't fly around the area?" Seriously, if he had a wingspan like that, he would take to the skies in a heartbeat, flying must be quite a bit of fun.

Speaking of surprises, the scent of fresh citrus fruits washed over him like a wave. It was a comforting smell, and it seemed a bit earthy to boot. As he turned around to face the direction of the smell, it seemed that someone else found the meeting point. Traveling on all four of her limbs. Her voice was not one that matched her body, it did take him by surprise.
It was only polite that He address her as well. "Hello, its nice to meet you." he said to the ghoul, hoping that a smile would keep her from attacking should she feel the need to get hostile.

"I'm guessing you know her dude?" He said to Jericho without looking at him, his eyes never leaving the newcomer, monitoring her actions with a careful eye.

Jericho raised an eyebrow at Savior's attempt to say his name. It was close enough he supposed. She still seemed rather confused about him, though, for whatever reason.

Glancing towards Damien, his eyes shot up to the skies briefly before shaking his head.

"I can fly. But something gives me the feeling that I'd only put a big fat target on myself if I went above the treeline. There's no birds around here. Not in the trees or flying about. I take that as a bad sign," he said grimly, "And yeah, I .. ran into her once on ca-augh!"

The dragon's words were cut off as she punched him in the chest, right where she had stabbed him before. He had healed up quite nicely, but that area in particular was still a bit tender, so having a bony knuckle hit it did not feel too good at all. Wincing, he rubbed his chest gingerly while staring at Savior like she was crazy.

"WHAT THE JACK WAS THAT FOR?" he cried out.

Bilious

Christof could dimly hear someone calling his name, but the fog was too thick. Trembling with rage, his stitches screaming at the seams, just barely holding together in the Fear Powered Lockdown, the opponent's green firey whip snapping across his bear chest leaving a good red welt across the red design of Riley's mark and.... was... was that a SKELLYPHONE? Was... was the reaper TEXTING while fighting him? With an enraged noise in his throat, the hunchback charged, swinging the pipe like a baseball bat to smash the phone from the insolent Reaper's grip, and continue to hammer down on it until the thing was nothing but plastic shards on the ground.

That would show him!
