No. Riley answered quickly. Perhaps a little too quickly. I heard voices, just like you. That's it. Her arms wrapped even tighter around herself, as if the wind that blew her jacket edges was chilling her to the bone. She started to walk down from the edge of the cliff, heading towards Jericho. When she stood in front of him once more, a strange unsureness danced in her eyes when she looked up at him.

I, ah, we should move on. But. Her eyes flickered to one side. I don't like the idea of leaving anyone behind. I also don't feel comfortable holding anyone back. Her claws dug into her upper arm. If the rest of you wants to head up without me, I'll stay behind and wait, I don't mind.

Aksaja nodded silently at the nergal's words and glanced over toward the other boil . . . only to quite suddenly notice that somehow the fog had risen up and come between them. The lightning dragon stopped dead and spun in a circle. It wasn't only Sharra that the fog had swallowed up as if they never existed. It was everyone. Gone, into the mists as they swirled about him like malevolent entities with minds of their own.

Oh hell.

"Sharra!" he yelled, only to hear his words echo back eerily, though he hadn't thought there was anything here to cause such an effect. "Jericho, Riley! Where are you guys?!"

Nothing.

Thiiiiis was just wonderful. "Hello?" he called. "Anyone out there?"

Dammit, he couldn't just stand here. And without his wings, he couldn't even try to fly above this soup. Not that doing so was such a great idea in the first place. With the low visibility, there was a good chance he'd run smack into a tree or something. And what if there were more of those cloaked figures lurking about out there? That would be just his luck.

With a low growl, Aksaja started walking forward slowly. Where was everyone? Frowning, he tilted his head, listening. He couldn't see anything past about two feet in front of him, and even then, it was misty and unclear. He had to watch his step, since there could be rocks, tree roots, unstable ground. Anything.

. . . Wait. There were voices . . . that way!

Sprinting off into the fog, he called again, "Hello? Guys?!" But as he got closer, those voices became clearer . . . and it was also infinitely clear that it wasn't anyone he knew. In fact, it was more likely those very same cloaked figures that had plagued them since they got here.

"Get out! Get out now!"

"No!" Aksaja yelled back. "YOU get out! Come out of your foggy little hole and face me, you cowards!" he called, pipe raised in front him - ready. He stood rigid, glaring into the dimness, waiting. But of course, things wouldn't be that easy. The voices retreated into the fog, fading away.

But rather than choosing another direction and trying to get back to the others, Aksaja went after them. He wanted to smack these bastards with his pipe, fists, feet . . . any kind of weapon he could get his hands on. They'd taken away his abilities, hurt Yaya, separated all of them from each other, and NOW they were trying to freak them out? Get them to leave?

Don't think so.

Strangely enough, the lightning dragon had found friends here, at this school. The type of friends that . . . he didn't only want around for their usefulness to him - which was odd. He'd thought that he would never find anyone who was worth that sort of care from him, but these people . . . these monsters, demons, undead. They were different.

"WHERE ARE YOU!" he yelled - not even sure anymore whether he was yelling for the voices, or for the others. One way or another, he was going to find someone in this damn fog.

Petro continued to make his way through the fog towards the lighthouse, the long, thin cut across his chest having stopped bleeding practically the instant the cloaked figure disappeared. He stopped in his tracks, angling his head towards... were those voices? He narrowed his eyes, recalling the earlier voices. Some might think of that unnerving experience and avoid any and all voices without visual confirmation. Petro, on the other hand, decided to head towards the voices in a brisk jog. His mace, still imbued with fear, rested on his should and a pendant dangled from the handle.

"Trap? What?"

Sheridan blinked, eying Mac curiously. What was he talking about? The dragon had neither seen or heard any such thing, only the voices screaming 'get out' at him. Judging from what the others had said, it seemed Mac was the only one. Sheridan might have thought he was completely out of his might, but given the situation and all they had seen thusfar, he wasn't inclined to disbelieve anything.

"What else did she say?"

A glance at Riley, he didn't like that anyone was standing so close to the edge of that cliff. The dragon had zero issue with heights, he preferred them, the higher he was the closer to the stars. But here, he didn't trust anything, and he had no desire to see anyone splattered against the rocks.

If Jericho hadn't been looking at Riley, he wouldn't have thought much of what was said. However, he was staring right at her, and she was not looking well at all. Most likely, it had to do with Malodore's absence. With a frown, he went on and wrapped his arms and wings around her in an attempt to comfort the mindflayer.

"I'm sure it'll be fine. We're not leaving anyone behind. But... we really should move away from the cliff in the least," he offered. He didn't want to move on with so many of their group unaccounted for, but he also didn't want to be cornered against a clifface in the case another enemy appeared.

In the meantime, he also looked to Mac, waiting to see if there was anything else they needed to hear.

((I'm back! o3o sorry drive took longer then we though XD))

Sepheran stepped back putting a hand on Arachne’s shoulder lightly for a moment knowing they had both gotten slightly lost among the fog. But at least there was still hope, the fog seemed lessened for a while and if he had heard the others correctly then all they had to do was make for the lighthouse and they would be just fine. After all, Sepheran knows he had heard Petro and Lizzy talking about such things earlier.

Lifting his hand the basilisk opened his mouth to speak to Arachne when the fog suddenly thickened rendering the area completely unseen. It took him a moment to realize that he no longer felt Arachne on his shoulder in her usual clinging on manner. His made him very wary and worried for he didn’t know what happened to her. Was she taken even when he was so close to her? He would never forgive himself if something happened to her.

What was worse now though despite everything so far…he was completely blind; with the fog so thick Liannan could no longer guide him. Everything seemed suddenly so dark. Stepping forward Sepheran tried to call out at first, ”Hello? Arachne? Petro? Lizzy? Anyone?!” he screamed though the fog seemed to eat up his words. As he moved his clumsy nature took upon itself making him trip and fall face first to the ground.

Liannan let out a startled his before adjusting herself around him once more. Sepheran gave a small apology before getting back up and trying to move again. As he did so he tripped and continued tripping arms flailing out slightly as he tried to blindly walk about. After a few falls he stooped trying to walk and resorted to crawling testing the ground with his hands just in case. After all he didn’t want to fall off a cliff or something.

It was then he heard the voices, the voices telling him to get out. Sepheran stopped a moment unsurely his head turning to the sky…or what he figured would be the right direction anyway. Where were the voices coming from? And who was it, could it be the others? This thought in mind Sepheran made his way to the general direction as the voices, but was startled when he finally heard what they had said. ”Get out? I would if I knew the way!” he hissed unhappily. They could say it all they wanted but there was only so much a blind boil could do in these conditions. ”Besides, I still have to find the others…” he mumbled feeling slightly odd cause he felt like he was talking to himself.

Not that he felt like he was truly alone, after all the feeling of being watched never left his mind, not after the cloaked figure had ran from their earlier fight. Taking a deep breath Sepheran tried to calm himself. He was not going to let his lack of any real eyesight get him down, after all it wasn’t like anyone else who could have gotten trapped here could do any better.

With newly found courage Sepheran nodded and got back up crawling his way through the fog. It had to end sometime right? Then Liannan could guide him again. He was glad Liannan hadn’t disappeared like Arachne had, even with just her comfort he’d make it out. ”Hey!” Sepheran called out again hoping through some miracle the fog would give way and he’d find himself near his friends once more.

(( In response to event ))

It was intensely disorienting, Sharra noticed, to be close enough to touch someone one moment, and absolutely unable to see or feel them the next. Shuddering, he closed his eyes, welling down the first surge of panic as the fog descended about them, thickening and becoming nigh-on impenetrable. "Aksaja!? Riley?" Raising his hands to his mouth, he started rather aimlessly calling out names, in hopes that someone would be able to hear him through all of this seemingly otherworldly muck...and answer. That would, at the very least, give the nergal a direction in which to head. Gods...it didn't seem as though such a thing would be possible...as only the eerie whispers birthed from the fog returned to him.

They seemed but a murmur, taunting him elusively as they circled about the edges of his consciousness. Pointed ears strained to hear them, but they absolutely refused to come into focus. Stepping forward, he meandered around in a rather aimless fashion, hoping that something would come to point him direction. It was a long shot, but the boil didn't have much to go on, merely shreds of information that had been all but scavenged by Sharra and his classmates. Well, in truth, mostly his classmates. Grimacing slightly at his own uselessness, he kept trudging in what he could guess was the right direction.

The voices didn't seem to think so. 'Get out! Get out!' They seemed insistent, furtive....a murmuring all around him. Green eyes went wide, staring about him at the walls of fog in terror. There really had to be something here...that presence pressing at his back. Something like the dark reaper who had appeared by the beach, the beach that Sharra had had to leave his nearest and dearest at. And now, the blond boil was entrapped out in the fog with the very villains who seemed to have some nefarious purpose for the lot of them. The shiver that ran down his spines could not be gainsaid...the evil was out here, and there was nothing quite like this in the school. Not since that night in the woods.

This was nothing at all like that night in the woods.

Rubbing his arms, as though he could drive away the chill that the voices had driven into his very core, he hurried, not sure again where he was going. But he wanted to get out...just like the voices were advising him to do, but suchly was impossible if one wasn't sure in which direction he should take the first step. Dear Jack, he was going to die out here, possibly for real and all that. Other students were already in trouble, likely as not, Sharra couldn't be the only one hearing the ghostly choir lurking out there in the darkness. "I hate our field trips..." He murmured softly, glancing from side to side, as though by doing so he would be able to pierce the fog. And yet...there was only the murmuring to greet him, like a death toll.

Petro paused when he heard a familiar voice. He knew whom it belonged to, didn't he? It had to belong to someone he knew, right? Or was it all a trick, still? If it was someone from the herd, it was safer to travel together, right? But if it wasn't... He brandished his mace and dared to call out, "Hey, Sepheran 's that y'?"

And then, quite suddenly, the fog was rolling away from him seemingly in all directions - as if his shouting and threats had actually driven it away. Spinning around again, he stared about him as he spotted a dark figure wandering at the edge of the fog.

"Sharra!" he called, jogging over to the other. "Are you all right?" Reaching over, he moved to touch the nergal's shoulder, assuring himself that the other boil was real and not some phantasm of the fog.

Riley felt slightly jarred when Jericho's arms and wings curled up around her. It wasn't that she wasn't used to his comfort, but she knew there were eyes, so many eyes, watching. Many of them couldn't care less, but it didn't matter. She looked weak in his arms, and she would have never allowed it.

She would have pushed him away and charged forward, leading her friends to their destination confidently.

Riley pressed deeper into Jericho's embrace, reaching her hand out slightly if only to pull one of his wings completely around her. If she couldn't muster the strength to be the person she needed to be, she didn't want to be seen at all.

Not until she knew it was safe.

Some dangerous floodgate had been opened, during her battle with the reaper. She was powerless to close it now.

She could still see, despite all but disappearing in Jericho's embrace. First Aksaja appeared from the fog, then a boil she didn't recognize, though he looked familiar.. and an unfamiliar boil emerged as well. Suddenly Sharra appeared, and Riley's hand clutched at Jericho's shirt. Her eyes narrowed to slits. Almost everyone was safely returning to their group, and they were reforming nicely.

Almost everyone.

It was time to move on. Every bone in her body ached to push out from her comforting embrace and head out. It was the right thing to do. The smart thing. It's what Malodore would do.

Riley's head rested against Jericho's shoulder. She felt sick to her stomach. She didn't even recognize herself anymore.

Hearing some other voices, Jericho turned to see Aksaja and a nergal he wasn't too familiar with come from the fog. A little further back, he saw Petro and Sepheran as well. It seemed that they were all well, but there still wasn't any sign of Malodore.

He was fairly certain it would show up soon. The doctor was... already dead.. technically.. anyway. There probably wasn't much that could off the guy (or girl) for good.

Even so, it was very strange to see the mindflayer like this. It was unsettling to say the least, and at the same time it pissed him off that this 'field trip' had hit her so hard. He patted her lightly on the back, hoping she'd return to normal soon.

"Look like everyone's coming back in one piece," he uttered quietly.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 20, 2011 7:26 pm

Sepheran couldn't be more relieved when Liannan spoke of the fog beginning to dissipate making things much easier to see. No...he was wrong. More relief flooded when he heard his name shouted by a familiar voice. "Petro!!" he called back. "Yes! It's me! Everyone else with you?" he asked curiously as his figure began to form and come into view.

By this time he managed to stand back up like nothing happened, though his hands and knees were dirty and looked slightly scrapped from his travel by crawling earlier.

Ugh, a voice in his head. There have been enough of those lately, thank you.

Mac turned his attention only momentarily towards the mindflayer; he really didn't want to follow her. He didn't know her, and she happened to be a Demon; nothing was in her favour in his mind, apparently. Instead of answering her mental speech he turned his attention to the unknown dragon, using him as an excuse to ignore the tentacled Demon.

"Yeah, Trap." He confirmed with a nod. "First she was saying that I was going the wrong way, and then lead me to the cliff...She wanted to know why I wouldn't jump, because I was going to die anyway." His head tilted a bit, black eyes unfocusing in thought. "Then...That being dead was better than being used, and that...I fell for the same trap." Frowning still, the Reaper sighed, ruffled his hat again, and then continued. "That's all I can remember, man. I dunno how helpful, though. It was just...so creepy. Her voice started to flip out near the end, too."

"By the way, the girl was about this big~" He gestured a vague height. "Wearing a dress, has one shoe, and...I don't think she had eyes, but there was black puss and spiders oozing out of the holes." What he didn't include in his description, was 'Lizzy's family, maybe' and 'Couldn't make up her candlejackin' mind'. He glanced back at Jericho and the Purple Demon again, having already stepped away from the cliff, and then glanced down at the Demoness on his arm.

"Are we staying with them?" She was the 'leader' of their little group, after all! Wait, he heard another voice he recognized!

"Yo! Loincloth-boy! Uhh...Petro! We're over here, man!" They had to keep their little group together, right? Right.
PostPosted: Sun Mar 20, 2011 7:33 pm

Aksaja heard voices up ahead of them and turned a little more to see who it was. Oh, hey, there were quite a lot of people up there. "What happened?" he called, jogging over toward the group. "Jericho!" he said, waving a hand at the other dragon.

Glancing from one to the other of them, he frowned slightly. "Everyone okay?"

Petro gave the basilisk boil a wide relieved smile as he lowered his mace. The whole getting lost in the fog had him more inclined to show physical affection and thus gave Sepheran a none-too-gentle thump on the back. "'S good to see y'!" he grinned good-naturedly before noticing Sepheran's hands knees. "Y' get attacked again? And where's that ghoul y' were with, um, Aranie'r something?" he frowned.Just then he heard Mac call out to him and he declared, "Yo! Headed y'r way, got Seph with me."

He turned to the basilisk, "Think I can see 'em over this way."
