His mouth twitched; Zac could threaten, but really when it boiled down to it, Ever was probably going to do whatever the hell he wanted with the other man out of sight. His eyes flashed down to the money, and he licked his lips. "You're going to read those, right? You're not just messing with me there?"

"I am not just messing with you...I do not just mess. And I will I -will- check back here and see if she has 'that smile' on her face when I stop by... understand?!" He said pointing an accusing finger as he picked up the books to leave Ever to his desert. "You can have what I was taking home, and the brownie... I need to head back." He said trying to soothe his own ruffled feathers

"Uh huh. And you'll put me six feet under." He sounded entirely unconvinced, though -- probably because he had the better part of a foot on Zac and, up until this point, had pretty regularly won over the kid. Who knew, though, maybe he'd bite down on the urge to poke fun. "Thanks for dinner."

Zac scowled at him, disrespectful, definite point in the negative column, but was it enough... or would the structure of the Negaverse and the consequences of disrespect even that out at all. What a damn shame there was only one way to find that out. Course...there were places to hide the body... "Later." he said and waved on his way out the door.
