Luna had a small yet noticable smile on her face as turning she scurried to her seat gently kneeling and begining her work, a Sakura Tree with a small nest and birds in it as she had seen the night before in her Okiya, IT had lifted her mood and she'd felt better looking at the peacefull serenity of it all.

Sakura gently walked to her seat and sat down and started her drawing of a beautiful tree next to a lake.

Tora walks around the room, observing her students as they poured their hearts into their paintings. She smiled.

Arikku set her picture on the easel(SP?). She set up and began to paint a picture of the French country side. There were flowers, a lot of green grass, and a lake. She sighed as she painted the picture. She missed her home so much....

Luna had finished adding the true tones and light tones ot her painting finishing the shine ont he pettals and the eggs in the Bird's nest. Caefully she portrayed the mood of serentity, the safety of the nest. all she had left was to add the shadows on the branches and she'd be finished. Ever so slowly she worked pouring her heart and soul into the scenic portriate, perhaps someday if she was like her mother, she'd retire at a good age and sew beautiful Kimono as her mother had done before her.

"Oh, Arikku-chan! I adore your lake! It's so life-like," Tora said with a smile. She looked at it a while and she could almost smell the water. Tora walked to Luna and observed her. "So serene, Luna-chan." Tora walked to the front of the room and clapped her hands. "You all are doing so well!"

Sakura needed some motivation....Sakura thought hard for a minute and then it hit her. She had made so many new friends at her okiya and she decided to relate her new life to nature. So Sakura drew a picture of a bird taking it's first flight.

Reijin dipped her brush into the paint, then paused a moment to consider what to paint. Her eyes unfocused slightly, letting her mind wander over everything she had seen recently. Smiling, she remembered seeing a pair of cranes in the garden outside her okiya the previous day. Satisfied with her decision, she began her painting, making broad sweeping gestures with her brush. Reijin loved to apply basic color, then refine the details as she went. Sketching out the lake, she mixed a muted green to mark the shrubbery, indicating the trees with a green so dark it appeared black to the untrained eye. Reijin loved the subtle play of shadow and light, the variation of colors that went itno the art of painting.

"Oh, Sakura-chan! You've captured that bird wonderfully! It looks a little clumsy," she giggle. She turned to Reijin and studied her painting. "It looks as if I can reach out and touch the crane's feathers, Reijin-chan. Wonderful job!" Tora was so proud of all of her students.

She held her sadness back and continued to paint the scene.

Tora walked to the front of the classroom and pulled a blank canvas. "Students, I'd like you to look up here a minute," she said. Tora fixed her paint brush, by now, it had become an invaluentary action. "I'd like to show you some brush strokes that could help you with your artwork." Tora waited until she had her students' full attention.

"Arigato, sensei," Reijin murmured humbly, not taking her eyes off her painting as she worked. In the back of her mind, she noted when the teacher left her side.
Hearing Tora-sensei's announcement, Reijin set her brush down and angled herself carefully so she could see past her easel, waiting with anticipation for instructions.

Luna delicatly layed her brushes down being sure to clean them as she was finished. Shifting she peered past her painting and watched their sensei without a sound focussed on learning what she could since, even though she had talent and skill in painting she was still intrested in improving and learning everything she could.
