thats ok she grew up in israel and since at the time she was orthodox she decided not to have one now though she is conservitive. if it was up to me i would have had it at the conservitive shul when i was 12just to make her happybut i couldnt and i didnt really want to lead sevices but i did.
i'm not here to preach (cuz kia'll eat my head rolleyes ), but there is something not quite right there.

but only from my point of view.

of course.

poeple have the right to be wrong. it's called "free will".

just because i believe that something is craven, stupid, obnoxious, and hypocritical doesn't mean that everyone else has to.

YAY! Zonko's all mature now! *huggles*
Don't mind me, I blame it on this stupid cold medicine. In about 5 minutes, it'll wear off, though. I'm already feeling rather sleepy as I'm typing this sweatdrop

EDIT: Okay...better now. Sorry xp

Hmm I was required to attend a certain amount of friday night and saturday morning services, in which I lead them as well.

Mhm my Torah portion was from Leviticus, I had the same one as my sister which was odd..

lol that was 3 years ago and I still remember it.

I was not allowed to have a party though and at the time I hated my dad for it but I now understand why he was so dead set against it. It was because he said it's not about the part, it's about becoming a woman. When I was in Israel I didn't have a party ,I just had a simple service. Mhm atm I'm still a little mad at him for it but meanwhile I can see his point and where he is coming from ^^

Lemme tell you I did better than every kid in my class on my Haftorah..lol I think it's because I was the most dedicated..

At my temple all you did was go to the friday night service before your bar/bat mitzvah. The on the actual day you would lead a few prayers and read from the torah. My party was very small and not very good...I hate parties and dancing so I was in a pickle. The party was mainly for my parents

not sure, but since there is torah obligation for males, these parties for males are less common. Among hilonim I would say it isn't too rare though xd ... Might even be the same. These cases are more commonly known about girls for some reason... dunno
