iShayera Althalas Pogue Whats wrong with eating ducks? Oh! Which reminds me I punted a duck last semester at college! Okay, so the little bastards sleep with their necks curled back, so it looks like a football with legs. Well I was talking to my buddy Arther Guinness, so I wasn't exactly in my right mind, and it just looked like my foot would hook perfectly around the thing if I were to kick it. Turns out it would. It sent the duck flying into the water, where it promptly got super pissed off and started screaming in duck langue. Or he could have just been quacking. WHAT IN THE NAME OF BLOODY HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?! Wrong? Its fantastic! I would do that.

So question....
Lance and Mistah are the Managers, correct?
...so do managers start with some X amount of Credits which they need to budget out to their fighters in some sort of "salary" system?
Also, for PP, am I do understand that a fighter's victory DOESN'T actually award him PP that they can use? Those are only given out by managers? (Unless otherwise bought from the credit store?)

Fighters never get prestige points to spend themselves, the managers spend the prestige points and then reward their fighters with whatever they bought.

PP can only be earned in battle. The PP earned will be given to your manager, and from there the manager can buy you stuff with it. It's not available at the credit store, cause Mistah didn't like that idea.
Managers will have some base amount of credits they can offer, though I think we still haven't decided just how much. I think we're waiting to know just how many people are interested.

So basically, we have to be part of a Brand... and yet, our ability to gain things from the PP store, is COMPLETELY dependent on our manager purchasing it for us...
1) Where is the fighter's guarantee that the work he does will be properly rewarded with upgrades? As I see it, he has none.
Also, with Credits, you need to make sure that there is a cash-flow system. There needs to be both MONEY IN and MONEY OUT.
Most fighters won't have much money in the start... may 100 credits or so. In order to keep money GROWING in the system, managers are going to have to receive some kind of CREDIT SALARY (perhaps based off of their team's victories, etc...) Every week or so, which can go into their account. this way, they can properly reward their fighters with credits according to their different contracts they signed when joining a brand.
...otherwise, the only way for fighters to get money is through bets... and if no money is coming into the system other then that we start with... The highest amoutn of money anyone would be able to attain, if they won EVERY CREDIT from ALL OTHER PARTICIPANTS... is 2000 credits (roughly). which would obviously, not be good enough.

...since only managers can buy PP upgrades, a Freelancer would essentially would never be able to get upgrades, making the concept worthless.

i may be wrong here, but it is to my understanding that the fighter convinces the manager why they need some stuff. and vice versa. so, lets say cobra, you were the best fighter here and you won 5 battles straight. if the red brand offered you 10 pp of anything you wanted, wouldn't you want the blue brand to match that offer? this system of bargaining adds a twist to fighting. if a manager wants to add you to their brand, they must pay you a contract. if you are losing alot, you can convince your manager that you need upgrades. if you want something bad enough, threaten to leave. if the manager doesn't care, you must not be worth much xD

That is where buying credits with PP comes in. Once a fighter has been taken in by a brand, they sign themselves over to the manager. The manager can then offer them a salary, or anything else it takes to get them to join up. A fighter earns prestige for their manager, and is them able to request purchases using it. The manager isn't required to make those purchases, but seeing as it will power up their better fighters, it is the wise thing to do. By using the PP to buy credits from the shop, they are also able to enlarge their store of credits, and buy even more stuff. Most of the stuff in the credit shop won't take more than five PP, meaning five fights, to get your hands on.
Free agents are our freelance fighters. They can't however access the PP shop, meaning they will be entirely reliant upon betting to get their upgrades, meaning anyone who does go that route will most likely show themselves to be the true strongest fighter, and probably have the managers fighting over him. Later on, if enough people do this with us, we might even allow a limited number of custom brands, where a fighter simply makes their own brand to bring in PP, and allied fighters.

How the hell is a Freelancer going to get ahead?
...if they don't have access to the PP shop, you're essentially FORCING them to join a brand, or remain a Genin, with no bloodline/demon for the rest of their career.

But Cobra, I'm sorry I forgot to mention something very important. In the Free Agency you are negotiating contracts, so you can put anything extra in the contract that you'd like. You can be freelance and fight one match for a brand with making part of the deal being giving you something.
