I've flown a million miles just to find a magic seed A white flower with the power to bring life to me You're so exotic my whole body fluttering Constantly craving for a taste of your sticky sweet
Melina Nadine Larkspur Lina had been working on the next difficult plant, not paying attention to the world around her. It was a hybrid orchid of her own design. As she examined the orchid, she was humming to herself. It seemed as if the plant had been broken somehow at the base and therefore the top of it was dying. She was looking close at the break, trying to determine if she should just sever the dying part or help heal the plant. When a familiar voice disrupted her work, she jumped and slid off the small stool she was sitting on, falling to the ground.
Lina immediately began laughing at herself. She looked up at Ryul and attempted to smile at him amidst her laughter. She had the orchid pot still in her hand. Luckily she hadn't dropped it. "Hi!" Lina managed to greet him once she managed to get her laughter under control. She wasn't going to try and get up just yet. So, she sat the little pot up on her work table and looked at Ryul. "Nice to see you again." She said brightly from her seat on the floor.
"Where's Kowe?" She asked curiously. She didn't see the wolf in the doorway beside Ryul. Maybe he had went hunting or just running off on his own once again. "No matter...What can I do for you?" She asked as she finally picked herself up off the floor. She dusted off her shorts and sat back down on her stool.Always on the brink of a heart attack You keep me alive and keep me coming back I see the sun rise in your eyes, your eyes We've got a future full of blue skies, blue skies

❝Shadow Flame❞ ◢Яyul Șamison◤ Ryul smiled slightly when she fell off the stool. He hadn't meant to scare her. When she asked where Kowe was, he turned and let out a long, low whistle. The wolf came trotting out of the trees to stand next to him. He walked into the greenhouse with Kowe at his heels. He let the door close as soon as the wolf was in. He pulled off his bow and quiver and put it on the only clear spot he could find on the workbench. He pulled off his shirt and looked down at the cuts. They were bleeding a bit and red. "I'm taking you up on that offer," he said seriously. His joking state had gone. He'd have to spend more than a few minutes with Lina for it to come back. It was just the way he was. The way he'd always been. That wasn't something that he could just stop doing.

Melina Nadine Larkspur Lina knew she could get into her work, like zone out into it. Therefore she wasn't surprised that she had been surprised by Ryul's arrival. She hadn't expected him to call Kowe into her greenhouse, but he had been there before, so she didn't mind. She never had to remind Ryul to close the door behind him. Not anymore at least. Lina hates the door to her greenhouse to be left open. It is not a barn, and should not be treated as such.
She remembered when Ryul first started visiting her greenhouse. After about the fifth time, she got so frustrated with him leaving the door open that she ran to the door with a coconut in hand and flung it at him. Needless to say, she got the message across. Lina smirked at the memory, however, it soon disappeared as he approached her, setting his weapons on her worktable and pulling his shirt off in front of her. She was awkwardly left staring at his chest due to the fact she was sitting down on her stool. Her face blushed red.
What offer was that? Lina had to ask herself mentally what that had been. It probably had something to do with the cuts on his..his chest...Yes, that must be it. Why else would he go barging into her greenhouse and start removing his clothing for? "Ah..The salve...be right back.." She said, trying to move quickly so he didn't see her blushing...again. At the back of her greenhouse was a storage cabinet full of salves and tinctures she had prepared for medicinal reasons. After searching through little glass containers, clinking noises aplenty, she found what she was looking for.
Lina returned with her own little mixture aimed to help scratches and cuts heal better and faster as well as some gauze and medical tape to bandage them up. That way the salve would stay in place. "Would you like to put it on, or would you prefer I do it?" She looked up at him, waiting for an answer.Always on the brink of a heart attack You keep me alive and keep me coming back I see the sun rise in your eyes, your eyes We've got a future full of blue skies, blue skies

❝Shadow Flame❞ ◢Яyul Șamison◤ Ryul looked at the salve in her hand. She had also brought gauze and what looked to him like some sort of tape. He was really no good at healing things. He cleared his throat a bit. "I'm...uh...not so good with this type of stuff," he said, a little embarrassed. He really should put less time in practicing his handiwork with weapons and more time learning how to bandage a wound. He had never bothered with it before, since whenever he'd gotten a wound of any sort, Lina would bug him until he let her put some salve or something on it. The was half surprised that she hadn't done that this time, but pushed the thought out of his head. He could put the salve that she held on just fine, but when it came to the gauze and tape, he wouldn't have a clue as to what to do.

Melina Nadine Larkspur Lina gave him a small smile as he answered. Great, more awkwardness. No matter, though, she'd get over it. "This is a new blend. I haven't tested it out yet. So, you're gonna be my guinea pig..." She said with a small smirk. She knew it would work, though. It was her grandmother's recipe that she had found a few years back. It had taken Lina a while to collect the necessary ingredients.
"It has chamomile, lavender, beeswax, and some other secret ingredients in it...." She trailed off as she took the lid off the jar. Lina stuck her fingers into her concoction and scooped out some of the salve. "Now, hold still..." she said moments before she reached out to him and began applying the salve to his injuries. It took her a few times going back and forth from the jar to his cuts, but after a few minutes, she was done applying the salve.
Next, after wiping her fingers off on a work rag, Lina took hold of the gauze and measured it out for each cut. She took some gardening shears and cut out the necessary bits that she needed, then taped them over the wounds quite nicely. In all it probably took around ten minutes. "There you go..." She said, standing up and sealing the jar back up. While he could inspect her handiwork, Lina went and put the salve back in her cabinet.
As she walked back, she looked at him. Amazed that she was able to zone in on her work of patching him up. To think around an hour or so ago he had been holding her to that chest of his, kissing her. Her face flushed slightly at the memory. "So, does it feel any better?" .Always on the brink of a heart attack You keep me alive and keep me coming back I see the sun rise in your eyes, your eyes We've got a future full of blue skies, blue skies

❝Shadow Flame❞ ◢Яyul Șamison◤ Ryul watched her work. When the salve touched his skin, it was slightly cold. He did his best to suppress the shiver. She worked quickly. Before he knew it, she'd cut up the gauze and taped it to his chest. He ran a couple fingers over the gauze covered cuts. "Yes, actually," he said when she asked if it felt better. "Thank you," he said. When she got close enough, he leaned in to kiss her again. He pulled back after a moment and smiled. "Now I just gotta find a new shirt," he said. It had blood from when the wounds had reopened. "But I think it can wait for now." His teasing mood was slowly resurfacing again.

Melina Nadine Larkspur Lina had been about to sit back down when he leaned over and kissed her. Her skin flushed a bright crimson. That had been out of nowhere, but she enjoyed it. She wrapped her arms around his waist and looked up at him after he pulled away. Laughing at his joke, she leaned up to kiss his chin.
"It can wait...you're right about that.." She teased back. Things were different with him. Like most new couples would do, they'd talk to get to know each other, ask questions about things they'd like to know. However, Ryul already knew all those little things about her, just like she knew all those little things about him. It was like they could skip over that beginning phase in a relationship. Wait, they hadn't really established that they were in a relationship, had they?
"Hey, Ryul....what exactly are we now?" Lina asked, not wanting to assume things. Plus, she was curious as to what he would say. It was funny how quickly things changed between the two of them. Maybe he didn't want to have things be official, maybe he'd like them to keep things a secret. Maybe he'd want everyone to know. She needed to know how he wanted to go about things because he was the most quiet and distant to everyone else out of the two of them.Always on the brink of a heart attack You keep me alive and keep me coming back I see the sun rise in your eyes, your eyes We've got a future full of blue skies, blue skies

❝Shadow Flame❞ ◢Яyul Șamison◤ Ryul thought about it for a few moments. "Well, it's up to you, but I think the proper term for it is boyfriend and girlfriend," he said. He thought about the way he was with others, always serious, and mature. If people found out about him and Lina, he imagined that no one would really believe him. Or believe that he was even capable of showing that kind of emotion. He sighed. He hated the way he was, but to be honest, he couldn't help it. He'd started acting that way when he was still a young teen. You couldn't just kick a habit that you've had for over a decade. It was odd that he was so cold to everyone, considering his element was fire. The two just contradicted themselves. He looked at her, putting on a rather convincing smile.

Melina Nadine Larkspur Lina listened to his response, a smile growing on her face as he finished up speaking. Not many people would believe it right away, but she could care less. "Really, Ryul?" She almost hadn't believed it, but was glad to hear him say it.
She felt a nudge on her leg and turned to see Kowe. "Oh, sorry Kowe! I promise I didn't forget about you." She said, removing one arm from around Ryul and reaching over and scratching under the wolf's chin. Kowe always loved when she did that. His ears flattened and his eyes closed, enjoying the fact he was getting attention. After a minute or so, she stopped scratching him and she kissed him on the top of the head before turning back to Ryul.
"Wow...I just....can't believe that we're together..." Lina stated. She still couldn't wrap her mind around it. It would take some time to get used to. Something she didn't mind having to do. This time, she leaned up like she was going to kiss him, however her lips lingered, leaving a small space between hers and his. She wanted to see how long it would take him to close the gap between them .Always on the brink of a heart attack You keep me alive and keep me coming back I see the sun rise in your eyes, your eyes We've got a future full of blue skies, blue skies

Name: Jack Welston Allignment: Steamer Tier: Undercity
Character:
Jack shook his head and climbed up the ladder. He turned around and looked back to see if anyone followed him. As he gazed out across the city beneath him, he wondered, Such a great city... Yet so many secrets that lies beneath it. I wonder what is going to happen now. The Professor is not somene who will take this laying down. He will be back... but when... and with who? He didn't see anyone following him, so Jack quickly knocked three times, to let Mit know it was him and went inside. His house was messy, as usual. Jack never has a chance to clean because he's always at the mine working. But he can't complain. He had a roof over his head, food to keep his stamina up, and his most important possesions, his tools. Jack was a miner, but that's how he paid his rent. He love to create new gizmos and thingamabobs. That, along with his genius level IQ to challenge, and beat, the smartest person of all of The Society, Undercity, and Slums, created for a rather potent mix. He also personally takes care of Mit's gun ever since he met her. He saw Mit and let out a sigh of relief. "Well, we should be safe for now. I checked to see if anyone can follow us, but I doubt that. It's easy to get lost here, and the crowd just makes it all the harder to follow us." He said as he dropped Mit's gun and walked over to his desk and set his bag on top, pulling out the sword and the 2 books he gathered from the Professor's bookcase. "Sit down, you deserve the explaination. And it might be rather hard to believe... I still have problems with it myself..." Jask said in a rather melancholy tone. "Have you ever heard of the story of... Ridley?"

It's astounding; Time is fleeting; Madness takes its toll. But listen closely... Not for very much longer. I've got to keep control.
Kesi Nérine Tarn Kesi had continued to search through the untidy room, looking for anything of interest. For the past half hour or so, she had been going through a collection of blueprints she had found. Most were for gadgets she had never seen before, nor could possibly have imagined. Unluckily for her, she didn't know how to read them. So, Kesi straightened them back up and stuck them in her rucksack. As she was doing so, her stomach grumbled in protest. She hadn't eaten in hours.
Reluctantly, she slung her sack over her shoulder, and weaved her way back out of the room. Of course she'd be back later, some way or another. Just as she was almost to the door, she tripped over a box. She managed to use a hand to prevent face planting the floor. Though, it did hurt. Unable to resist, Kesi started rummaging through what she had tripped over. There were a bunch of odd bits of metal, cogs, pins, springs and such. Maybe these could be useful with those blueprints.
Ever the curious minded, She picked up the box and hauled it out of the store all room and headed back home from her grandparents. The bright blue haired girl got odd looks. That was usual. Kesi's fashion was more like the Steamers that everyone had an issue with. Well, issue was an understatement. However, the box she was lugging also got some looks as well. This was why she tended to keep to herself, no one understood her.
To be honest, she had thought about running away from the Kante for awhile. Just say she was going camping on her own, or something. Trying to make a connection with nature would be something people would support her in doing. While they would think she was attuning to the forest, streams, animals and whatnot, she'd be trying to make her way to the Steamers. Sure, she herself wasn't too fond of them due to the stories she was told. However, they were still just as fascinating as ever. I remember doing the time-warp Drinking those moments when The Blackness would hit me And the void would be calling... Let's do the time-warp again. Let's do the time-warp again.

.:Mit:. Steamer Mit smiled when Jack came in, putting down the little gizmo that she had been interested in upon going through the door. She nodded when he told her to sit down. Her face fell when she realized that he was saddened by something, and pulled up a chair when he told her to. She sat in a very lady-like way, folding her hands in her lap in spite of herself. She blinked when he asked herabout Ridely. She shook her head. "Um... no, I can't say I have." she answered, blinking innocently despite the fact that she was a 'boy'.

Jack nodded and grabbed a small, brown, leather book he took from from the Professor's house and started to ruffle through the pages. "I can't say I'm surprised, because he was a rather... Lets say, eccentric person. His ideas where revolutionary, yet no one bothered to listen to him. Truth be told, even I was skeptical of them." Jack paused and chuckled. "I take that back. I laughed at them when I read them. Barbaric, I thought. The mere mention of such things was ludicrous." Jack looked at the sword and thought, Such ludicrous ideas... and yet here it is. Ever since the Professor mentioned it, I searched my mind looking for his, and when she was there, it just came back. I remembered. I wonder how she will react. He looked back at the book and turned back a few pages. "Ah, almost skipped it." He handed the book over the Mit, and pointed to an image. "Ridley found this about 2 years after the Great War was over. He said it was his most important discovery, yet all it was was a simple pendant. The only thing he said was that this was the key to a very dangerous creation, that could threaten this world. He went on to mention something radical. The most laughable idea ever... Of a fusion of the technology of the Steamers... and of the Magic of the Kante. Yet, if what the Professor said was true.. Maybe Ridley isn't as far-fetched as we thought."

.:Mit:. Steamer There was a slight pause as Mit took everything in. Magic... and Steam... and... Jack... Her face went through a rapid succession of various facial features during that silence, the silence that meant that she was processing everything with the metaphorical gears in her head. The first thing that she showed was confusion, followed by disbelief, then fear, then anger, and finally, a smile broke on her face and she began to laugh. At first it was only a supressed giggle, but after a moment it began to evolve, first into a chuckle, then into a genuine laugh, and lastly into a full-out guffaw. She clutched her sides as tears rolled down her face and she fell onto the ground, squealing with delight and hilarity as she narrowly avoided rolling into the table. She somehow managed to recompose herself and stood upright (although shakily), taking the book into her hands and flipping through the worn pages. She scanned over the designs one by one, reading the captions and descriptions, attempting to understand the workings of this obvious madman. She snapped it shut, holding it up next to her. "Jack..." she said, remnants of a chuckle still in her voce, although it was slowly degenerating into disbelief. "Tell... tell me you're joking about this guy. I mean... this stuff is impossible to make! Nuts! Crazy in the worst kind of way! I mean, how can you combine such opposite things, it's... i-it's just unnatural! Jack... tell me you don't believe this stuff!" she begged, slowly lowering the book and placing it back onto the table.
