He looked so confused. How could they not see that he had no clue what they meant? Were they really going to force him to talk? Well, maybe being sick was giving wrong tells. Still he hated to speak. Hated it, but they weren't understanding. Were. Not.
He frowned. He tried to figure out what to say, but his mind was still not functioning at full capacity. He really needed more sleep then he had gotten. Fine, he would just.. speak. Distasteful as it was. "Don't understand," he said, since the I was CLEARLY obvious, even in the state he was in. Then to add, "She's sick. Red faced with fever. On and off." Then he huffed, scowling. He hated talking so much, it was pointless. He made a vow that next time he was sick, he'd go off alone until he could communicate again.

She looked down to her daughter and chuckled. "No, not sick... embarrassed.. it's called a blush." She smirked some this was definitely going to be rough on her daughter but it really had to be done. "A crush.. it's when one holds a feeling of infatuation towards another.." She hoped that had been clear enough for him.

And again, he would have to speak. That was another, though less common issue with spoken words. Sometimes other Soqs used words that he had never heard of before, and could not figure out from context. Oh, he admitted to himself, he probably could follow these words, if he were feeling better, but the context offered his tired brain nothing. "Infatuation?" he ground out, gritting his teeth over all five syllables.

"Well.. like.. love only.. not.. more like a strong liking of some one.. or really lusting after some one.." She knew now her daughter must be wishing to escape this cave and just run and hide for a while till it all blew over. "Would you say that you have mutual feelings?"

He blinked. Him? Love? He didn't love others, he didn't love himself. He just didn't love. Lian's image came to mind and she shoved it away abruptly. She had nothing to do with this. He took her in because someone had to. Same reason he protected the tail wagger. Same reason he let Heha convince him to escort that blabbermouth crybaby up to the graves. Same reason he put up with that horrid Blossom. If one was love, they all were, yes? Yes. And they weren't. Not at all. If anything, when he thought of Blossom he was closer to hate. She Never. Shut. Up. Love? No, he did not love.
He had to answer, and he did so the only way he knew how. Honestly. Not that he knew any reason not to be honest. He had never loved, he was sure, so he figured that since so many Soq used the word so easily that it meant little. After all, Hydro said she loved her parents, and how could one love parents? They existed just to abandon you into the world. So he was honest. He shook his head. Then, realizing that Bri was more then well cared for, he turned on his hoof, said goodbye with a flick of an ear, and left.

She took the shake of his head as his answer. "Sorry Briallan... how you must hate me now.. but it had to be discussed." She sighed and nudged her daughter lightly with her nose. We should get you home..." She'd caught the shake of his head and gave a small sigh. That ended badly but her mother had clearly said it was lust right? not real love.. she took a long look at the night and nodded. she understood. and maybe.. it was better this way? But... how?? standing, she left the cave to return home and think this over. Giving a hefty sigh, she and magic stood together, following her daughter back it was definitely a bleak day. She'd have to have.. the talk with her young ones.. well not so young now were they?~Finished~
