{Faleen}
The man perked up, looking surprised and relieved. He eagerly took her hand (his were as clammy as predicted) and turned to guide Faleen to the dance floor.
The unique persian trailed after him.
"I'm Carl." Mr. Sweaty announced awkwardly.

Claire vehemently ignored his comments and by the time she found the pokeball, the other bird had backed off. Thank Arceus... Still, it would be better safe than sorry to let the golden bird cool off in her pokeball. Odette remained where she stood, even puffing herself up a bit more, as if to make sure everyone knew just who had one here. She trilled again before her feathers began to smooth back down, and she turned away from the other bird slowly, just in time to meet a dull red beam as she was recalled back to her pokeball.
Claire minimized it and replaced it in the folds of her skirt before smoothing them out with a sigh, then tucked a lock of curly brown hair behind her ear. It was still odd seeing her hair brown instead of black, but no matter. "I do apologize for her behavior," she said to Ace's owner with a deep curtsy, ignoring Leonard, "but when she gets too upset, words are useless and the only thing that calms her is a complete removal from the situation for a few hours. Your Staraptor is very stunning, and he is also lucky because there are a good deal of wild birds in the forest areas of Kodo, I hear." Too little too late for Leonard, even though Odette had heard his compliment before being recalled. Nothing he could say would make him any lower on her hit list now. Although when Leonard used Odette's real name, something she had until now avoided using for the same reason she had gone to such lengths to mask her real looks, she leaned forward to carefully pick out another piece of shrimp cocktail, and using that to disguise her true intentions of giving Leonard a good swift stomp on his foot. Whoops.

Sorano downed his second glass of champagne for the night. He tried to ward off his body's sudden want to consume more, remembering his duty for the night was to concentrate on his mission and not alcohol. He pushed the empty glass on Whinny, who juggled it between her double ringed paws before staring at it.
"Wiggly!" she chimed a the brilliance before whining when she really didn't know what to do with it. "Wigglytuff!"

(Cal and Serena) When Serena extended her hand, Panther gently caught it and kissed it, bowing once more.
When she said yes he made sure to brighten, not that it was hard. The young lady was cute. "Thank You Serena. Gengar, please stay here and keep Vulpes company as we dance." he gave the pokemon a slight nod. "Miss Tiffany, please excuse us." he bowed once more to Serena and then took her out to dance, his hand moving politely to her waist. He was not the best dancer, but he certainly didn't step on her feet. The lessons and training alowed him some surefootedness. He noticed some other agents out on the floor but did nothing to avoid or go near them. Instead he focused on Serena's face and leading her.

"And we can't forget about the pokemon! This is Blossom and Shade." She gestured to each pokemon respectively. Cal gave them a nod. "I'll be right here when you guys get back." She smiled, holding the glass up in their parting. "Please, do enjoy a dance Miss Astor." She watch the two walk off into the crowd of people on the dance floor, grateful that she didn't have to dance just yet. "Hello there Vulpes." She grinned at the prissy fire pokemon and evaluated. This could be a good pokemon for our mission... She glanced down at Blossom giving her a wink.
Blossom smiled up at her trainer, then turned to Vulpes. Her introduction was light and playful.

It was very bad form to decline a request to dance, for the first time at least, She would have under any other situation, but for now, she just kept on her pleasant smile as she let the man lead her onto the dance floor. "My name is Kaylee" She told him, not about to spread around her real name. "You have quite an interesting pokemon Carl, very beautiful, are you familiar with these sort of balls then?" she asked, glancing over to the Persian before looking back over to Carl.
Umbreon waited by the edge of the dance floor, watching his master, and that MAN touching her, his ears flattened as his eyes narrowed.

Carl perked up, some of his timidness fading as Faleen remarked on his Pokemon. He smiled and glanced back at the persian, who was staring at the pair boredly, "That's Bruce! Only one of his kind, least that I've ever seen. Caught him as a meowth." He nodded proudly, "I take him to events like this each year."

"You don't say? He was caught wild? that's certainly rare, most have to spend lots of money and time breeding Pokemon to have such unique qualities." She made a point to sound really impressed, and fascinated. taking a step to turn and face him, placing her other hand gently on his shoulder once they were on the dance floor. "Every year you say? with a Pokemon like Bruce I'm not surprised, this if my first." she admitted with a small sheepish smile. "But i hear its good for business opportunities involving pokemon,"

"Yep! Caught him completely wild!" It was entirely possible Carl was lying. He placed a shaky hand on Faleen and started across the dance floor. He was a terrible dancer.
"Oh your first time? Yes yes, lots of opportunities. Hoping to trade that umbreon huh?"

Any watchful Rockets not focused on a potential mark might take notice of an intruiging pair lingering over the hors d'ouerves table. They seemed to have appeared out of nowhere.
The woman was quietly dressed in a snowy white column gown and gloves, her long blue hair done up in loops and spirals. The man, dressed in a coat-tailed tuxedo and top hat, had neatly-groomed hair that stood out in a startling shade of pinkish purple and an eyepatch over his left eye. "You do realize we're not here to sample the catering, sir," his companion pointed out as she watched him load a cracker with spread. Her hands were clasped behind her back, waiting for him to get on with it or let it topple back into the dish.
The man rolled his eyes and defiantly snapped a bite off the loaded cracker, "Come now Tethys. We're at a party." He paused to savor his snack, "You simply must try this caviar."
There was a cracker in her face. "..sir, that's hummus," Tethys explained in tones of long-suffering patience, frowning at threat by hor d'ouerve.
The man rolled his eyes and offered the remainder of the cracker to the green hedgehog perched on his shoulder. "Hummus, caviar. It all comes from fish."

Ugh, add insult to injury, how can this butterball of a man not know how to dance, all that money and year after year of coming to events like this and he didn't even bother to get lessons? This was ridiculous.
Her eyebrows arched, keeping on her appearance of interest, despite the slight wrinkle in her brow. NO! Hell no she was giving up her Umbreon! "I'm leaving options open for now, I'm afraid I don't know anyone here, or what kind of pokemon I would be interested in really, you come here a lot, do you have any advice for me?"

Carl nodded importantly, puffing himself up a bit, "Oh yes, I can offer lots of advice. I'm sure I could introduce you to someone to take that umbreon off your hands for something valuable."
(OOC: I think that's it for me tonight.)

She kept that pleasant smile of her lips, though there was a slight twitch in one corner. She just continued to smile at him, watching him while she waited for an answer and trying to avoid getting stepped on by him, keeping quite a distance between his feet and hers. "Oh really? I'm a little picky though, it will need to be something pretty special." She waited for him to answer.

As she relaxed, Mau found her dancing to be quite enjoyable. And for half a beat, he forgot that they were looking for targets. He tore his mind away from the dance and surveyed the room for potential hits. He saw the man dancing with a nidoqueen... maybe not them.
At the strange gesture from the 'electivire,' Ran spread her wings and bobbed her head as if in a curtsy before ruffling her feathers again and hopping with the other pokemon. Not having hands would make dancing like the humans a little tougher.

Manhandled without permission, Nadja gave Seth a look that would have preserved the Articuno ice sculpture next to the dessert table for weeks. But this was hardly the time to make a scene. "Fine," the redhead hissed, and indicated a spot on the sidelines. "Moloch, go sit." When the canine whined she rubbed him briefly along the neck, expression softening. "You're a good dog. I'll be back for you later."
Properly trained in targeting but not at all happy about it, Moloch trotted off with ears at half mast, whuffing at Nyx and Mau as they waltzed by. He sat down and raised his head high, watching his trainer from afar with a look of doggy confusion mixed with determination to be a Good Dog for her. No matter what.
