Okay. Now that that's done I'm going to invite only certain people to the guild. There are some already familiar faces on the members list that I need to clean.

angelmage99 Raimundo vi Britannia angelmage99 Raimundo vi Britannia angelmage99 Raimundo vi Britannia I am leaving back to class in 4 minutes, but I just thought I would suggest Tightening up classes, and making assigned classes per Period, and, like actual school, change them every 3 months. But do it instead every month and a half to Two months. That's something I've done similar and it hasn't worked out. Let the people pick. Put up an Announcement Thread, and have them pick roughly 15 classes. And You can have Multiple classes I'll do it later. I don't have time to do it and if we have change too fast then we will end up having the members of the guild hating it. Not if we let them lead the way. True. I would recommend putting the plan in the VC thread so people can talk over it. Read this, and you now my Idea

Dislike... As it is, my student characters hardly attend class and there's really no way to distinguish one period class from another, so you end up having class with other students you're not supposed to. I've never been a fan of any kind of curriculum though, as I've never seen it successfully implemented. Having characters write out which classes they have to start so they can compare to other students they meet and then attend classes at will (rather than saying at a certain time of day) seem the most conducive to a healthy RP atmosphere.
Also, having to go back to my characters every other month and go through the work of picking out new classes all over again doesn't sound like fun at all.

I agree with scy 100% on this. She nailed exactly what I was thinking so I have nothing more to add at this moment.

Then limit some classes, having 40 classes that only see one or two people are not good

Even if we only have 20 classes, woo. Without active teachers for each class there's no point in offering them in first place. On top of that, still, people probably don't want to have to change their classes other than between school years, especially if they have multiple students. We can certainly cut down on the number and specify which classes are for which years, certainly, but trying to make a schedule based on time/periods gets too hard and inevitably some classes will never be attended just because of RPer time restrictions.
I also don't follow the 'let them lead the way' side to this idea. How would that be implemented?
As usual, I know I come off rough and apologize if I anger or offend anyone.

Ah.
So we'd clean up the class list and then have to shift teachers around based on the classes the guild chooses? Sound like the real school system to me, (sarcastic laugh).... I hate my county/NCLB........
(Just so you know I wasn't being sarcastic toward you. The changes in classes offered and the rededication of teachers into fields they aren't trained in has seriously hindered the learning process around here. So really this reorganization is much like RL.)

@ Scytheress: There would be less teachers, and more students, And there would still be things like Substitute teachers for when a Person is away. There would also be more interaction between students. And what your talking about can't be applied her. I mean, How many public schools teach arcane Magics?
@ Cherry: Yes, they would be able to walk in whenever they want, as the teacher would teach a normal class, and dismiss students often, so in truth, it would seem like many student skip class.

Now think of how long it would take everyone to do that. I agree we should at least take care of the classes of that those who haven't been around and asking people to update it.
+Bonus on bigger classes at least.

We have time. and people barely attend classes as it is. This will also encourage Class Attendance.
