A -- Go down Pumpkin Path.

Tara liked stabbing things, it was true, but she liked science more. With any luck, the pumpkin goo would be enough to blind the creature, or at least dull its senses long enough to get away.

Lady Luck, which had stayed far, far away from her on her jaunt through the maze, decided to bring reinforcements. Not only did the pumpkin stop the thing, it utterly destroyed it. In many ways, it was interesting to watch, a chemical reaction unlike any she had seen before.

She could have lived without it getting on her shoes, though.

Now all she had to do was go down the fork and, she hoped, into freedom. The Pumpkin was what had saved her, and Tara thought it was only right to pay homage, choosing what she could only hope was the way out.

Ending --

You turn down the street of the Scarecrow, breath coming in quick pants, you finally see something at the end of a long path through this awful, awful maze. It's a clearing! Could it be the center of the maze?! Desperately hoping that you can get there, prize be damned, you burst through with a rustle to see several stacks of baled hay...and another person. Apparently, all that fooling around in the staff section of the maze and the shadowy figure chasing you cost you the prize. What is the prize, anyway?


A hand reaches out to a small platform on top of the bales of hay, and you can see a small red gem that looks a bit like a ruby, but is shaped like a diamond? The minute the teen picks it up, the light is almost blinding above your heads. Oddly enough, every single one of the other lights that had mysteriously gone out have come back on now, and you can hear the carnival sounds and screams again. Apparently, the gem had been on some sort of light trigger...hadn't it? Something also noteworthy was the tension and weight that seemed to all but fly from your shoulders with the return. You might even find that if you tried to transform now, you would be utterly successful.

Isn't that odd?

The girl from the front, Audrey Collins' voice sounds out over a loudspeaker attached to the pole. "Congratulations in mastering our Corn Maze of Terror! The Kernels of Revenge were no match for you. Everyone not in or near the center, please try to find your way to the nearest colored crossroad so that staff might retrieve you and lead you from the maze. Thank you, and enjoy the rest of your visit to our Carnival!" There wasn't a whole lot of real joy in the voice, much like a flight attendant's false cheer waves you off a plane, and there are still a lot of questions in your mind. For Elzo Xanis, it probably sounds a whole lot like heaven.

But those are for another night, and certainly not for the staff who have come to retrieve you with a nice consolation prize!

Everything went so smoothly and so awesomely that I can't even tell you how happy I am! I'm sorry that so many of you got tossed out early-on, but I'm going to definitely use how this worked to help improve future games. If you were eliminated early on, you may assume that what happened to those that got futher happened to you as well. There were several monsters of this kind in the maze; this was only the one we saw! It's been reported that one or two teens actually didn't come out...
