Derek glanced around, Jez and Alex were dancing along, locked in some telepathic banter were they could snark at each other in a world that was just for the two of them-Derek could feel the power emanating from their locked gazes.
He glanced at where Poppy and James were basically eating each other.(no pun intended)
It didn't take too wild a guess to know what Blaise was doing.
He smiled at April, not moving anymore as the song was slower.
"I don't think we'll want to sit this one out" he said still standing in the dance floor.
Watching everyone couple off-not really anyone''s idea of fun.
"Unless you want to watch the soulmate principle in action" he nodded towards the couple and pulled a face.

April laughed and smiled at him. "Yeah that's true. I honestly don't know how to dance to songs like this." she said as the slow song played in the background. She looked around and realized that they were the only ones still dancing and all of the couples were together. Even Charlie looked like he was having a good time with Blaise. She looked back at Derek. He was older than her, and a little taller. She had no idea why she noticed this, but she did.

Derek raised an eyebrow and smiled.
Derek may have been a player in his high school day but if there was one thing he did was treat a girl right. He'd been raised right, (ok so he'd kinda raised himself but you get the point!)
Point being he wasn't about to leave a girl alone on the dance floor,, it just wasn't done.
He smirked/smiled down at April when she seemed to notice he was taller.
"Bit of a human drawback" he said with a shrug. He'd always been the tallest even with his human friends s he'd never really noticed.
He smiled down at April, surprised that after all that dancing, slow dancing.
"One more dance?" he said with a smile, he guided her throw the first part of a slow dance "good thing about slow dancing all you have to do is pretty much shift from one place to another" he stepped forward leading her to do so as well then back "That's pretty much what you do or throw in one of this" he spun her out slowly then back in and continued the slow dance.
Jez came out f her trance to find James and Poppy all over each other, she made a face.
Soulmates, she thought, whoever came up with the notion.
"Get a balcony you two,"

"Well, being tall isn't a bad thing." she said smiling at him. She let him lead her, and she fallowed him so they were in sinc. She then laughed as he spun her, and smiled as she spun back in to his chest. She fallowed his evey move, and realized that slow dancing wasn't too hard. "You're right. This is pretty easy." she said to him.

Derek smiled as the song came near its end "there's a reason most guy's take the slow songs" he said.
Well no there were 2 reasons but that didn't really apply here. His hand slid down to the small of her back the song slowed down nearing it's end.
I'll tell you this" he said leaning down a bit with a smirk/smile that was impossible not to return "next time you're dancing if a guy gets any closer than this on a slow dance, break his arm"

Jez glanced at Blaise and Charlie wondering just what kind of game they were playing.

Alex looked around taking a drink of whatever was in the cup she found. She started to hum the tune of song.
Mikayla started to sway. She really loved the sweet sound of music. She stoped moving and sighed. Ske sat down at a table and looked around.

April laughed, and said,"Yeah I know." She laughed and smiled up at him. The song ended, and she let go of him. "Thanks for dancing with me." she said smiling at him and sitting down on a sofa in the corner of the room. (occ:Nope, but Charlie likes her, and she knows it. She doesn't like him back though.)

"Sure" Derek said smiling back he was about to sit next to her as well when Jez all but rushed him jumping on his arm.
"ok. Jez, Human" he said laughing trying not to topple over from the momentum
"You never spun me like that" Jez said smirking
Derek smiled smugly at her and grabbed her arm in one swift move sent her spiraling backwards and smack into Alex
"happy now Jez-belle?" he asked with a wry smile.
Both Alex and Jez growled at him from the floor. Derek just laughed and
"Yeah. Ecstatic" she said under her breath getting up. She towered over a now sitting Derek.
"I told you if you called me jezebel I would rip your head off"
"You didn't say anything about Jez-belle" Derek pointed out not faced in the least by an aggravated vampire so near to him.
Jez rolled her eyes but knew he was right-technically.
"i wished they'd get a room" Jez mumbled glancing at Poppy and James. She wondered where Blaise had gone to.
"i'd rather they don't" Derek said wryly "seeing as they'd get our room"
Alex stiffened at the implication.
"i second that" he said blushing a bit.
Derek snickered. Getting bitten at 14 there were parts of Alex that had never...matured. And never would. He'd forever react like a child.
Derek turned to April "i had a good time" he told her honestly :It was fun, the dancing, honestly if it wasn't for you I'd probably have died of boredom" he added the last part with a chuckle when Alex looked at him with a look that clearly said 'what about me!'

April laughed and smiled at them. She liked hanging out with them. "Do you guys know where Charlie and Blaise went?" she asked. She honestly hoped he wasn't doing what she thought he was. She rolled her eyes. That's Charlie for you.

Everyone shrugged, Blaise tended to get separated from them all.
Jez tried to sense for her-not too hard in case she was..busy.
That was Blaise for you.
Derek looked around realizing Blaise wasn't around he looked at Jez who shrugged.
"I haven't seen her since the dancing started" he said with a shrug. Though he was worried, not because of Charlie but because after enough demons jumping his friends it was instinct for him to be wary.

April rolled her eyes. "I guess they're meant for each other." she said laughing. She then walked over to the couch she had gotten up from, and sat down. She closed her eyes and put her head back. She was having an awsome time, but she wanted to relax for a bit.

 Human Form.  transformed. Ivan stalked in gazing into the crowd with lupine eyes. He glanced at the crowd looking for the one he'd been searching for.
His face crumpled in disgust when he spotted Venturi, that vermin, filth that Ivan had wanted to square things with since getting here.
But that wasn't his mission.
Grabbing a drink he sat back and watched.
