Firestar blinked hard before addressing Spidey again after Gold Star briefly dissappeared, "Should I be worried? I mean, I be walking on the street and from out of nowhere some store owners aren't going to come at me and demand the clothes back from me and leave me naked on the street? Are they?"

"Just make sure they're the right color and pattern. I like the ones with the duckies," Spidey told the girl brightly. Internally, he wondered why he'd partnered up with a mind-reader. "No," he added to Firestar, "She's going to get you some of her clothes, which HOPEFULLY aren't stolen. There are only so many hairs that I'm willing to split over this."

Firestar smirked, "Well, at least I won't have to worry about a lot of split ends."

"WOAH!" Spidey yelled, suddenly changing directions and landing on the face of a convenient building, "... Do you feel that?" After a second, he realized that it had been his spider-sense, so... No. She probably couldn't. "There are two things happening right now. One of them is just sort of... potentially bad. It's hard to explain. The other one probably involves explosions and flying body parts." He paused. "I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest that we head towards the explosions, which are in... that direction." He pointed.

Spidey shot her a wry, crooked grin that could be heard in his voice. "Oh, the joys of public service, huh?" And then he was off, and swinging in the direction of Gotham.

((Trying to draw this out for as long as possible. I don't want to drop too many heroes on poor Jason. ^_^))

[Enter Azazel from No Man's Land.]
Keeping up easily with Black Cat, Azazel said, "How far are we from home? Do you have a new crash pad, or are you using the same one?" His aim was to determine exactly where they were going so that he could plan accordingly.

{Enter Black Cat from No Man's Land}
Cat raised an eyebrow at him. "Same... one? In light of the whole 'demon trying to rape me' thing, it seemed smart. Plus, it's the main hero hang-out right now; I figured you could get whoever was there to cover for you while you take a nap."

Someone was using magic nearby. Azazel could smell it.
He stopped, clinging to a wall; or so he appeared to Black Cat, with his illusions. He sniffed the air, searching and...it was in that direction.
"There's someone following us," he said to Black Cat, in answer to what was probably a questioning look. "And it doesn't exactly feel like a friendly neighborhood hug-a-bear. I think I can handle this one." He made his way to the roof and stood, facing in the direction they had come and daring the Reaper to approach.

ENTER from NO MAN'S LAND
Reaper made his way through the cities via shadow travel. He stopped under the firescape of a nearby building when the other man stopped and hid there for a brief second. He still didn't recognise who the man was. It LOOKED like the Spider. But...something was very wrong about it. Even if this was a different universe's Spider-Man....something was wrong.
He'd need a closer look to be able to find out what. And it seemed like the man had realized that they were being followed anyway. Might as well confront them now.
The shadow under the fire escape raced up the sides of the building, and finally came to rest on the rooftop across from the building the "Spider" was on. There Reaper rose from the large black patch, in his human form, and in his signature blood red outfit.

Cat landed next to her Spider, her posture relaxed but prepared... and then she relaxed completely when she saw who it was. "Reaper?" She glanced at Spider-man blankly. "He's the problem?"

"Do you know him?" Azazel-Peter asked, actually surprised. "All I know is that my spider-sense was tingling, and I didn't know what it was. Is he dangerous?"
Damn. This guy would be a big problem. Azazel needed to get Black Cat away from him so that his plan could continue.

Reaper arched an eyebrow at the man very slightly, suspicion etched carefully on his features. He...did he just ask if he was dangerous or not? Did he not remember him?
...no. This man didn't know him. At all. If it were Spider-Man, then he would have recognized him at the least. And when Rapture tried to capture Black Cat, Spider-Man knew that Reaper was there and tried to help. This man was not the same Spider-Man he'd met before. He looked the part, but his blood...it just felt wrong. He didn't recognize what type it was. Like this man wasn't even...oh. Suddenly Reaper remembered why Cat had been stuck in the Sanctum.
Was this...?
"Yes, well my methods of travel are a bit shady. Perhaps that's what set off your...spider-sense." Reaper replied, careful not to let his tone or features show his mistrust of the man. Though, to anyone that had some form of empathy, it was obvious that Reaper didn't trust the man.
He didn't want to alert anyone exactly. He wanted to handle this carefully. Try to skim through the man's mind to make sure that this wasn't some alternate universe Spider-Man or something. Either way...he needed to get Cat back to the Sanctum.

Cat looked between the two men, her expression caught between confusion and irritation. "... Uh huh. Spider, this is Reaper. Remember? He was with us in the Sanctum. You called him 'emo kid' pretty much nonstop?" Whatever THAT meant. "He isn't dangerous to us," she added smoothly, "Much to his apparent dismay." That last little bit was said with an almost frosty flick of the eyes in Reaper's direction. She didn't remember most of what had happened with the blood creature, but she did remember what it had said... And she didn't really remember him stepping in, either. Danny she remembered. Peter she definitely remembered.
"Anyway," she added, turning back to the web-slinger, "We should probably get you back to the Sanctum before you collapse, Spider."
