"Well, sort of." Nyx grabbed two pokeballs from her belt and released the pokemon inside. A large bird and a deflated balloon manifested themselves from the white light.

"Geoo?" The pidgeot cocked his head at Nyx and then began to preen. Newton, on the other hand, was still unconscious. Nyx sighed and pulled something from her skirt pocket and sprayed it on him. "Blim bliim?" The blimp pokemon inflated and looked around.

That left only to call for a Rocket Tow Truck. They could not, however, wait with the car for it to arrive. Nyx pulled her pokewalker out, made a call, and put it away again. "They'll come get the car, we have to get those boxes back."

Nyx went to the trunk and called Newton over. The drifblim floated over and made a platform with his arms. "Whatever you do, do NOT let these fall. There is a reward for you back home if you can manage." He nodded and Nyx placed the two boxes within his four arms. They would be fairly safe there.

With the packages loaded, all that was left was transporting the two girls. Langley bent down. He had some clue as to what was happening. The tiny scientist climbed onto her Pidgeot's back and waited. "Come on, we can't keep Miss Nadja waiting."

Ahh, is this how it would be, then? The closest Aila had ever come to traveling aboard a pokemon was being carried in a cradle of Fleur's vines, but she was much warmer to the idea of riding astride the Pidgeot than within the car, especially after it had performed such a frightening show. It was a clever enough solution to their predicament, but completely useless unless one had the proper pokemon. Fortunately, Aila was not left to rely solely on her own stock.

"Of course," she said, flashing a polite and gracious smile to Langley before carefully climbing onto the bird's back.

Langley had never had more than one person on his back at once, so it wasn't hard to imagine the bird would have a period in the air where flight was awkward and terrifying.

Nyx clung to her pokemon and waited for his erratic flapping and dipping to cease. "Oohhhh, Arceus! Langley, pull it together!" It was times like these Nyx regretted not getting at least some reins to aid in this process. At least while the Pidgeot was adjusting to double person, Newton was calmly floating towards base with the boxes.

Finally Langley got the hang of it and began smoothly gliding towards home.

Aila made an instinctive grab for her companion's body, clinging only momentarily as she fought away the panic that beset her at the Pidgeot's fits. She drew away immediately, though a slight still tremble ailed her extremities as a result of the burst of adrenaline.

"M-My apologies," she muttered, situating herself as best she could as Langley found his pace. Her hand hovered over her chest in a bid to calm her heartbeat, her eyes closed and her breathing deep. She would not be leaving the base again any time soon, she decided. Not by any means but her own feet, at least.

All things considered, Nyx decided, flying was pretty enjoyable; Especially compared to steering a metal death box at high speeds. Part of the fun was that no one except the pokemon had to steer. Thankfully, the scientist was not afraid of heights.

She had been surprised by Aila's sudden clinging, but then laughed. "Its alright! If you want to get a better grip, be sure not to yank on his feathers!" She had to almost yell over the sound of the wind rushing past them. "Use your legs, or grab my belt!"

They soared over the desert, high enough that the cacti were like twigs, the dunes like ditches, and the base was a box on the horizon. Newton was not soaring quite as high. He was content to ride the air currents closer to the ground.

She chose to act on the advice, settling herself comfortably and firmly and setting a light grip on the older woman's belt. Her security assured, Aila found the capacity to enjoy the circumstances. She was something of a fan of heights, and the rush of the wind was an amazing sensation. The girl directed her gaze to the ground below - the vast sands, seemingly infinite, white with the sun's blaze and mottled with the shadows of the uneven landscape. It was a magnificent experience, and her nerves were calmed.

It would not be so unpleasant a trip, she thought, if it could be concluded in such a manner.

Before long, the headquarters were more than just a shoe box on the horizon, and Langley was descending. The two girls were in for some turbulence as they came to a landing in front of the large black monolith, but nothing compared to the roughness when they took off.

Nyx swung a leg over and slid off the Pidgeot, dismounting like one would a horse, or a motorcycle. She offered a hand to Aila.

Not far behind them was Newton with boxes still in tow. He descended and came to a stop next to Nyx. "Bliiiim!" This was a task deserving much jelly and cheesecake.

As thrilling as the flight was, the approaching form of the base was welcome beyond imagination. She steeled herself for the landing and managed to handle it calmly. Accepting Nyx's assistance with a word of gratitude, she climbed down from the bird pokemon as gently as possible and turned her attention to Newton and the cargo her carried.

"Shall we carry these from here?" she asked, approaching the Drifblim a few steps. The boxes were not so cumbersome that she would leave a pokemon to finish her duty for her.

"Eh... You can carry one if you want. I'd rather just let Newton carry them." Nyx shrugged as she entered the building, making sure the door stayed open enough for Aila and her pokemon. Newton would let her take a box if she wanted to.

Nyx called the elevator and waited until the doors opened, then stepped inside. Regardless of who was carrying what, Aila was still not going to be allowed into the labs.
She waited until the girl was also in the elevator before pressing Lab floor's button.

With a thoughtful shrug, Aila moved to retrieve one of the boxes from Newton, if only to lighten the pokemon's load. She followed Nyx into the building and to the elevator, resting the package against her hip carefully to hold it more comfortably. She listened to the box's chime as it announced the floor.

"A successful enough endeavor, then," she muttered, mostly to herself. The trip itself had been unbelievably unpleasant, but in the end they had indeed accomplished that which they set out to do. She addressed Nyx more directly, "I apologize that circumstances evolved as they did. I am certain you had not scheduled time for such an errand..." And if Aila had not chosen the exact hour of the exact day, she would have encountered neither Nyx nor Nadja, and it was likely that neither of the ladies would have been drawn into the task.

"Mm." Nyx shrugged. "It's alright. My schedule is mostly flexible." She didn't seem to really mind the trip, or being sent on errands, though she wished she hadn't needed to drive.

The elevator dinged, the doors open, and Nyx seriously considered teaching one of her pokemon how to operate a motor vehicle as she stepped out into the lobby.

The lobby was as they had left it, the door still sealed shut in its unending efforts to separate Aila from that which she wished to learn. She was exhausted, though, and did not care to press the matter of entering the labs any further. Nadja had made it clear enough that she would not be permitted access on grounds of curiosity alone, and she had no desire to cross the woman.

"I shall leave this with you, then?" She raised the box slightly with an inclination of her head in Newton's direction, thinking she would simply return the parcel to his care.

The girl successfully fought back a yawn. A warm shower and a visit to the cafe were in order.

Nyx nodded and took the box. She'd carry it herself, just in case she ran in to Nadja and needed to get rid of Newton quickly. Actually, she thought, Beaker would be a good choice to help carry the two boxes... But the Blastoise would never allow herself to do such non-combat manual labor. She was a proud gladiator, and your gladiator didn't also till the fields; Or so that was her opinion.

"Thanks." And with that Nyx swiped her card and passed beyond the metal doors.
