April 4th, 2005 (Backdated)Today, Pueblo, the group and I took a trip to the beach! It was very clement weather and I didn't feel up to a quiet stroll. So we walked over to the West port where they could enjoy the shallow waters. The Fenthries found a small stand-still pool to splash around in while Twizzy splashed around in the waves.
But Pueblo dug around in the sand and found all sorts of things! A variety of different sea shells she collected, a great sea sponge that washed up, and a strange looking feather. It's peculiar, but she seems very fond of it. I perhaps I'll have to look it up later. For the meantime, she seemed so attached to it that I tied it tightly around her front left ankle with some deer-hide string. It makes her look very Native American. ^.^ Now, she's prancing around the house and showing it off modestly to everyone! I suppose I should go tame everyone down.

April 7th, 2005__________ (Backdated)Syrenrei and Delta A rather small and flat gift, wrapped in brown paper and tied with string, is left in front of Fae's door. On top is a note rolled up and tucked under the string so that the wind won't blow it away. Sy Fae, I thought that you and Pueblo might enjoy this latern I found while shopping. The pink tassel made me think it might be perfect for Delta's closest female friend. smile Inside the simply wrapped pakage is a hanging lantern... It was miday and yet, the house was at peace. Fae was working at her desk downstairs, Pueblo snoozing beside her faithfully, Twizzler reading his book on the couch upstairs outloud to Ombre with a gentle voice, and Sage zoned out on the front window seal.
Sage basked in the warm sunlight, his plum purple wings spread out to absorb the heat better. His silvery tail flicked much like a thoughtful cat would and stared out the window, his eyes half lidded. Long ears were slightly drooped and he leaned against the window frame. Closing his black eyes slowly, he tuned out.
Moments later, his eyes groggily re-opened and looked around. Like a resting butterfly, his wings flitted a few times and noticed Twizzy and Ombre were now snacking. Huff. Having a snack without him? Sulking out the window, a package sitting in front of the door was never noticed before. His ears perking as he re-thought this over in his mind, he decided that it was indeed new. "Someone get Fae...I think there's a package out there for 'er."
Ombre nibbled on a grape as the sweet liquid oozed out. "Wot?" She said with half a grape in her mouth. She looked to Twizzy, unsure about the situition. He was always in charge, anyways.
Twizzler placed his snack down upon the table and looked at the other Fenthry. He knew Sage well, but he went to go check for himself. Indeed, there was a package. Running downstairs to inform Fae, the two Fenthry were left in wonderment.
Fae walked upstairs, went to the door, and picked up the bundled package. Wondering who it was from, she begun to unwind it open until a flat, papery item fell into her hands. Walking indoors, a loose paper floated towards the ground. Picking it up and reading it, she gave a warm and silent smile.
"Well?" Sage stared at everyone as they all looked at him. Seemingly a perminate glare from the two black circles around his eyes, he zipped over and hovered mid air. "Well, what is it? Who's it from?" He demanded. Hey, he found it first, right? If it wasn't for him, they'd have never found it.
"It's from Syrenrei and Delta," she informed the curious group as she fiddled the paper lantern open. "Oh! Pueblo?" She called out.
Pueblo's ears flipped up and immediately flew upstairs. How could Fae just leave her like that?! All alone in the dark...;_; Landing on top of the table, she eyed the pink tassle on the paper launtern Fae was holding up. Sure, she's seen the other ones hanging in the same room, but this one was different.
"Look at it, Abby. It's a friendship lantern from Delta! Notice the pretty pink tassle? Where would you like it hung?" Fae was excited. Perhaps Syren was starting to like Fae? Surely Delta enjoyed Pueblo's company, and she almost knew that Pueblo would want to give her new friend something in return.
Walking in closer to analyize this gift, she reached out to nibble and test the pink strings. Ooh, they were so silky and pretty! Rubbing her head against the paper fan, she looked around the room for a place. She never had her own paper lantern before...After awhile of anticipated thought, she circled around Fae and flew downstairs, indicating "follow me!" The perfect place where her keeper could hang the lantern would be above Pueblo's 'nest'. Excitedly, she watched her keeper hang the creamy lantern up into the ceiling. She was quite proud of it...and everytime she looked up, there would be a little reminder of Delta and her's friendship in a shimmering pink hue.
Now...it was time to repay Delta's good deed with a present of her own..

April 8th, 2005__________ (Backdated)
The next day, Pueblo was determined to make something for Delta. Something special and time consuming. Dragging out her sketch-pad and colored pencils that were given to her, she worked besides Fae's bed in the dark. But it wasn't so bad since her eyes adapted to darkness quickly. Although the colors were hard to pick out, she managed. Going over everything her keeper taught her, she found drawing from memory was easier than drawing someone that was right there. At least in her memory, she could draw every detail her mind was able to imagine. Picking out the blue pencil, she begun to draw.
After a half hour going by of continously dropping pencils, she now wished she had hands instead of her tiny beak. Slightly frusterated, she pawed at the green pencil as it fell from her beak, then eyed her paper full of scribbles. Well...at least all the colors were there. ^^; And her determination was there. Such a body limited to paws and a beak, she glared at her feet in jealously of hands. It'll have to do for now, she supposed. And even if she couldn't 'draw' yet, she could always practice the colors or..trying to hold onto the pencil. -_- No...this was no good. She couldn't draw yet, and scribbles wern't enough to impress Delta. Even that easter egg she 'drew' before came out better than this (of course, since Fae had shown her how to draw a circle, it was easier then drawing a gryphon), but even then it was mostly a mass of scribbles. Flattening her ears to her head, she sadly pranced upstairs in hopes of ideas as to what to do for Delta.
Fae was sitting on the couch with a book opened in her lap. The title wasn't visable, but she seemed deep in thought. As soon as Pueblo came upstairs, though, it took her a moment to realize she was there. "Ah, hey Abby. What's up?" She smiled, adjusting her glasses on the rim of her nose.
Pueblo trodded up slowly with the paper between her mandibles full of blue, grey, black, and orange scribbles. Jumping up onto the couch besider her keeper, she dropped the page and gave a feeble whimper. Her ears lowered as she tried to get the message across.
"Hm? More artwork?" She picked the paper up and studied it. It didn't really make sense to her...but she tried to not let that kind of face appear and dissapoint her little girl. "Uh...the colors are very pretty," she finally mustered, but still saw the dissapointed look in Pueblo's eyes. "Aww...what's wrong?" Of course she knew Pueblo couldn't talk yet..so how was she going to understand her? She studied the colors more carefully as Pueblo pawed at the page, and then something clicked. It would be an understatement if someone were to call Fae smart. "...Is this a picture of Delta?" She knew Pueblo would want to do something in exchange for her new friend that got her a lovely gift. It was in her nature. And judging from the amount of sorrow in Pueblo's expressions, she knew that scribbles wern't enough to impress. "Oh! I think the colors are nice...but I'm afraid there isn't too much you can do in that form on your own," she bluntly put, but thought at the same time. "But...you know, we could always do something together.." Fae thought. It seemed Pueblo wanted to do something in the way of art...so what was there in art that could be easy for paws to do?
It was soon clear once Fae had found a canvas tarp and laid it in the backyard. A few cans of paint laid out, unopened, until Fae brought out a large canvas and paintbrushes. Painting, of course! "Okay, Abby...Since you can't draw right now, I figured we could try something more simple." She pointed to the paint as she walked them over. "This is called paint. It has colors, too, like your colored pencils, and they can create different colors when mixed together as well. The only difference is, paint is in a liquid form. See?" She dipped her finger tip into the gooey substance as it stretched and dripped back into the can.
Pueblo stepped up to the can full of this 'paint' and looked inside. It was the color blue, and she could see..another her inside it! It looked exactly like her. Hm...She straightened up, then pecked at it. AGH! There was paint on her beak! Shaking her head, she rubbed her blue beak into the grass to wipe it off. She didn't like liquids very much...
Fae chuckled at Pueblo's curiousness and crawled over to help her clean the paint off her beak. "Don't try to eat it now, because it's not eddible. Er, which means you can't eat it without getting iskc," she attempted to explain in understandable terms. "But it's okay if you get it on you. This type of paint will wash off with water easily. Like this, sweetie, hold still." Fae licked her thumb and rubbed it against Pueblo's bill, leaving a watery blue blur behind and showed her. "See?" She smiled. "Now, let's work on this painting!" And soon enough, Fae was painting a thin, black outline of Delta in a dignified pose.
As she watched the paint come off her beak in astonishment from her "keeper's water", she looked back into the paint can.Well...maybe if it came off her back...maybe it'll come off her paws as well! Stepping onto the messy blue paint lid with her right paw, she walked across the tarp as something caught the corner of her eyes. Looking at blue paw prints leading up to her, the feathers on her back prickled as she stared at them scardely. The paint was chasing her! Skipping forward as she watched her heel, she stopped abrutely and blinked. Wait a second... Then the puzzle seemed to piece together. Sitting down next to the canvas, she applied her heavy right paw down firmly and curled it back to her chest. Ahah! So the blue paint made prints...this was very interesting. Skipping across the canvus (and smudging some of the wet black lines), she padded back over to the paint bucket and pressed her paw against the lid again.
Fae watched Pueblo run across the painting and frowned as she saw her work being smudged. It was okay though; she had a feeling it wasn't going to be anything formal anyways. "Hey, Abby," she called out and crawled over to her again. "You know...if you would like to color the painting of Delta, you could always press your paw to the canvus, then slide it down. I guess it's an art technique called smearing," she sheepishly grinned, not all too sure about that. At least it would interest the gryphon by using big words.
Pueblo cocked her head to the side as she listened. Smear? Looking back to the canvas, she padded back over and attempted to do as she was suggested. Pressing her paw down then dragging it towards her, she watched teh blue paint slide across the empty space of Delta's now blue head. "Peep!" She cried in surprise. Ohh! This was fun!
For the rest of the day, the two painted and smeared a master piece that Pueblo could be proud of and thought to impress Delta.

April 11th, 2005 [Settlement RP logs: pgs 36-37]It's been awhile since I've written in my data log, but today, I have more to write about. To put it in short terms, Nehanda evolved into a whisp just under a couple days ago! As I was talking about this with Foenix, I discoverd that Rahujo came over with a knife and sickle for Nehanda...then she touched the items, dissapeared, then reappeared as a whisp! Foenix was gathering ingrediants for a few potions to add to this little 'quest' she's on. Aly wants a list of items, I guess, but their purpose is still unkown. I gave her a few left over beads that I had to help her- I wonder what their purpose will be!
Pueblo, on the other hand, seemed uncertain of her friend's newform. They were a bit shakey at first, but after awhile, I think Pueblo started to warm up to 'ghost Nehanda'.
The whisp stage is quite interesting; they're basically a ghost and cannot hold onto anything solid. I'll write more in my research log, but they seem to holf onto past memories from their gryphonic stage. How else would Nehanda reconize Pueblo?
Oh, Abby and I have also been making a painting for Delta. It's finished, but we kind of got side-tracked today. Tomorrow we'll deliver it!

April 13th, 2005 (Backdated)[Settlement > Syren's house RP: pgs 37-38.] Well the delivery was a success! Pueblo could barely settle down during lunch to take the picture she painted to Delta's place. We finally did (after a moments confusion) and guess-amated where her house would be. Syrenrei's still moving in and it's looking great so far. Oh, I'm off topic! Anyway, Delta loved the portrait of herself and I think that inspired Pueblo to go keep at what she's doing. It gives her a little hope, anyway, since she's still "cursed" with paws.
Well, off to do some whisp research!

April 15th, 2005__________
The warm night air always danced with the cool ocean breeze, being so close to water, but the air was staler than regular and had a definate heat wave. It wasn't easy wearing thick fur and feathers on such a steamy island, Pueblo decided, and tried to catch whatever breeze passed her way. Sitting on the escending step to the porch, her narrowed eyes pintargeted glistening stars around a foggy white moon. Staring like a statue and just as still, her movements were careful and required thought. However, mind being elsewhere, her fur and feathers swayed distortidly in the random winds. Her first best friend, Nehanda, was something she could no longer touch. Her simple mind just couldn't figure it out. Was she going to turn into a touchless ghost, too? What's the point having hands when you can't even use them?
Fae stepped out onto the porch undectingly, she thought, but when Pueblo's ears shuffled her way, she knew Pueblo had heard her. Slightly worried to such lonely behavior, she sat beside her Aerandir. "Hey, Abby? You alright, girl?" Her voice was gentle as a friendly hand smoothed down Pueblo's backside. As the stark face turned her way, and gave her that silly owl blink, Fae was almost taken back and bit on her tongue. "It's aweful hot tonight, huh? But luckily we're in such a natural area, the sky is clear and we can see stars like no other." She stopped and poundered. It must have sounded strange and difficult to comprehend for her griff since this has been the only environment she's been exposed to. "Ehh, you have lots to learn when you're adolesant," she nodded and made a self note.
Pueblo's expression turned from blank and mysterious to confusion and curiosity. Although she understood the temperature part, talking about how the sky could be foggy was just...well, impossible to think about. She's always been able to see the stars. Could they be any different? Letting the thought drift off and returning to her future....alas! Could her keeper understand her that well to know what she was thinking about? Being so little and simple minded, she guessed Fae could and bobbled her head. Just then, however, did something in Fae's hands catch her attention. Crawling into her lap and while trying to balance, she flutted her wings and clambered to get what her keeper had. Food!
"Oh!" Fae gasped in reminder, holding out a little fuzz ball in her hands. "Sorry, I almost forgot! I caught this little rodant for you to try. I'm not really fond at killing things...but since you're a conivour, eh, meat-eater, I figured you'd like it." Holding the dead shrew in her palm, she watched intensley as Pueblo's instincts kicked in. "It's a shrew," she added for Pueblo's knoweldge.
And indeed did instincts kick in. Some natural attraction, like a magnet, drew her to the shrew and finally found her balance as it was easily accesible in her keeper's outstretched hands. She didn't know..why..but something inside told her that it was for her. She's never had a rodant before, but as she picked it up by the tail and carried it off to have her own 'space' (unkowningly that it would make a..mess), she began to pick and rip at it. After the last bone had been devoured, her stomach felt satisfied and almost craved for more. Giving a quiet trill, she cocked her head to her somewhat disgusted, but happy, looking keeper. She looked silly! Padding over to her, she gave Fae a warm nuzzle to her forearm and wagged her tail. Well, that definately lifted her spirits!
Fae grinned, though somewhat grimaced, she knew it was natural. "Didja like that? Hmm?" She scratched behind the wolven ears, to Pueblo's delight, and caught her into her arms. "You're getting bigger! By no time you'll be floating around with Nehanda," she wistfully thought.
Upon being captured, she wriggled around and playfully whimpred but quickly gave in. Though the embrace was..3 times warmer than it was outside, she could withstand the intensity for a little while. But as soon as she mentioned Nehanda, her ears lowered and nested motionless.
Fae rose a brow and looked worried again. Was this..normal? "Abby, what's wrong? Do you not want to be with Nehanda?" And as she watched Pueblo shrink even more, she knew she hit something. "Aww, Abby! Are you afraid of her? Or...being like her?" Her wide mind searched for answers knowing that her little Aerandir couldn't speak yet. "I guess being a ghost is nothing you really dream of being, and they relate more to dead people...but it's nothing like that! You see, the whisp stage is just another preperation of becoming a child. Yes, you can't hold or touch anything during that time, but rest easy, it only lasts a week. Besides, you wont feel tired when you fly. Or rather, float," she tried reassuring her gryphon. Well, she hoped Pueblo understood. That's all she could hope for- Pueblo would either comprehend information somehow or catch on sooner or later to what she means.
Pueblo couldn't bare the heat any longer. Finally squirming away, her nails clicked around on the porch to balance as she shook her sporty body to "fluff" her fur. Idlying preening herself now by her lower leg, she chewed on her keeper's wisdom. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad...but that didn't make her completely unnervous about it. After she had finished preening herself, she pawed at Fae's knee and motioned her to follow her inside. She didn't like being alone, really, nor leaving someone out in the dark. I mean, honestly, her keeper can't even win at hide and go seek!

April 15th, 2005 Today had been a fairly easy going day. I've started to keep a little list-like journal to record what Pueblo knows and what we should work on to enhance her art knowledge. Maybe I'm pushing her a little... afterall, she is still just a gryphon. So right now, I've decided to stick with primary and secondary colors with her. She doesn't seem to understand the neutral colors yet, so I'll save that for when she's a little older. Her art varies from chicken scratch to...more doodle looking lines. Abby really can't "draw" yet and I often find her trying to get into paint cans. It's juat about the only thing she can do at this point, with her paws at least.
Though, later this evening, I found her lonesome outside, staring up intothe starry sky. As a side note, I'd like to mention the stars on Cetalu. There's so many more than back in Durem, and they seem brighter without desil polluting the skies. Anyway, Pueblo was worrying about becoming a whisp, or timid around Nehanda as a whisp. Yeah, I guess I wouldn't want to hang around a 'ghost' either, especially when I brutally explained the Easter story...ghosts coming back from the dead to visit their families, or soemthing like that. I have only myself to blame for scaring her like that. But she seemed okay after I explained to her what the whisp stage really was.
And oh! How could I forget? She ate her first rodant today. I don't know why I'm so proud, but she liked the little dead shrew I caught for her in a trap. It was sneaking around the pine bins under the cook-table! Sneaky little thing. It's agood thing Pueblo doesn't have that wild streak in her.

April 20th, 2005 Speices studyIn the last few days, it had come to my attention that Pueblo's speices was unkown. No, I'm not talking about the known barn owl/wolf, but there are many different kinds of wolves. I believe I might have a clue to which she could be, but in my books, I chose three wolves that looked simular to analyze more carefully.
 Redwolf-
Right away, I noticed the distinct color patterns. Like Pueblo, on this redwolf's under legs are white markings. Her legs arn't all one color, but rather two; brown on the front and white underneath. Paws as well are alike.
Pueblo's face is white as well, and so is the redwolf's, but unlike this perticular wolf, the white facial marking dosent connect with the chest like Pueblo's. Also, her tail has white, but the redwolf's does not. Redwolf is a likely possibility, but her fur contains more brown than red.
Grey Wolf or aka "Timber wolf"-
Many simularities here- unlike the the other wolf above, this perticular one's mask connects from the throat to the chest and then to the belly. Under leg markings coordinate to Pueblo's, and even the grey wolf's tail shows signs of possible white markings. The coat on this wolf is also closer to Abby's than the rest.
The only difference here is the dark tail tip. But even so, there are many different colors amoung wolves going from white to brown to black. The picture is the basic body structure and markings that a common grey wolf would have. Furthermore, there are several subspeices of grey wolves.
Eurasian grey wolf- fur colors usually darker and is a bigger breed of wolf.
American grey wolf- colors range from medium to lighter tones and the size of wolf is smaller.
Looking amoung the four wolf speices I analyized, the redwolf and grey wolf were almost matched. However, the grey wolf's simularties stood out and over the redwolf's differences. Conclusion: as far as Im concerned, it is safe to say Pueblo is indeed grey wolf ancestry. But because of her owl blood in her as well, barn owls are a fawn brown color. Pueblo isn't anything extrodenary in size, but even so, her measurements (as a pup) falls under the size of an american grey wolf.

April 21st, 2005 Something really exciting happened today! As I was on my way to the Centre, and as I sat next to Osero who was reading a book, Foenix made her way towards us. Pueblo detected it before me, of course (I think I may do a study of her hearing), and there was Nehanda trugging by Foenix's side. As a child! This got me quite excited and Pueblo too. I think she feels comfortable now- she was getting and giving hugs to Nehanda. She is such a pretty little girl! Oh! And those beads I gave to Foe, well, they were tied into Nehanda's hair by some ribbon. I recorded this is more detail within the data log.
Thinking about how Nehanda so quickly, it seemed, grew into her child stage, makes me wonder about Pueblo. I'm doing everything I can to prepare my little griff, but somehow, I feel like I should be doing more. I am at a loss, but perhaps it is time to lay heay on the art books. Foenix's told me how she reads to Nehanda herbology books at bedtime! How silly. I know I've read and pointed out things before to Pueblo from a few of my books, but I think a heavy nights of reading would be of use. Even if she doens't understand it all yet, I assume.. well, she is a fast learner. Actually, all the Aerandir seem to catch on quickly. Perhaps it's their chemistry, and perhaps they're more human than actual humans. If that even makes sense. They're like, advanced humans! Or at least Nehanda is right now and the other adult Aerandir.
Yes, it was a nice chat with Foenix, and happy reunion for Pueblo. And I guess if Pueblo is to merge soon, well, then I guess I know I'm doing my job efficiently.

April 22nd, 2005__________
It was a new day, but for some reason, it didn't feel the same to Fae as she brewed mint tea. The scent was relaxing and the taste of fried fish sizzling in a pan was as well enjoyable. She served the children to breakfast but soon found herself downstairs again. Clicking a wall light on, she rumaged through her dresser. Nehanda had made a big change...change was good, sometimes. She wished for something that suited her soul...her passionate love for art but also suitable for the island. Eventually pulling out a pair of clothes, she laid out a brown scrunchy shirt and a green water marked skirt. Contemplating, she quickly slipped her grudy shorts and t-shirt off.
Fae was now standing before her body mirror and examined her new look. The green skirt was extremly light and flowly- perfect to keep cool. The shirt was small and was made of the same breathable fabric. Continuing to look herself over, she suddenly jumped when she saw Pueblo's reflection behind her. "Abby!" She hissed, but quickly smiled. "Like my new clothes?" She asked the little gryphon.
Pueblo had indeed snook up on her keeper. Just like she always did. The new clothes almost blocked her vision of realizing that was her keeper and backed up slowly. Until she heard the stranger's voice, her ears perked and suddenly realized that was Fae. Was she trying to scare her on purpose!? Stamping her front paws in an excited wiggle, she padded over and looked up at Fae. Oh! What was this new toy? She begun to pick at the teasing flowly skirt, then walked between her legs and got a different angle look there. The colors were...brown...and green! She reconized them! Hooting happily, she gave Fae's ankels a soft nuzzle and flicked her tail.
Fae giggled at the tickling sensation at her ankels. "I'll take that as a yes," she mused. "I dunno though, you seemed as unsure as I at first. It needs something more.." she thought aloud, looking at her reflection again. "What do you think, Abby?"
Pueblo cocked her head. Something..more? She thought, and thought, until her thinking side tracked towards the mirror. "Peep!" She jumped. It was another her! Hiding behind Fae, she watched as the other Pueblo hid behind.. another Fae. O.O What was this trickery?! Shivering, she was definately a one who was timid around things she didn't know about.
"Aww, sweetie," she tentively awhed and noticed Pueblo's shocked stare into the mirror. "It's only a mirror. It reflects, or shows an image of yourself. It's not another me or you," she giggled.
One ear dropped while the other stood and titled her head; a mirror? Well, if what she said was true... she carefully stepped up to the glass, slowly, and almost took forever before she was face to face with herself. She stared into her eyes to see if she could make her 'reflection' twitch. But it didn't. Giving the mirror a gentle tap with her beak, she decided that the copycats couldn't escape their binds behind the mirror. Hooting triumpathly, she looked herself over and preened her errors within her feathers.
Fae observed the little one- she didn't exactly know what was going on inside Pueblo's mind, but she supposed time would soon tell. At the moment, the gryphon seemed fine with it. Kneeling down to stroked Pueblo's head, her mind slipped into a small tranze and thought more on all the chagnes Cetalu was going through.
There! Every feather was perfectly in place now. Nipping at the thin skirt again her keeper wore, it was quick to learn that she could hide under it. Her head ran into Fae's legs and fell back, but was rebounded off the skirt. Ahh! She was trapped! Maybe if she tried to fly... 'flutter' 'fluttert' Ack, no, that wasn't working!
"Abby! What are you doing?!" She giggled as the gryphon got tangled and helped her out. "Careful, you're not really-" she stopped. She was just a gryphon, afterall.
Feeling random hands on her galvanized her to n** at them. But as soon as she found out that they were helping her, her back paws quickly backed herself up and out of the skirt. Quickly looking up to Fae, she turned around and flew onto the dresser beside them where she could be safe. Calming herself down, she eyed the flowers in a vase beside her. Cocking her head, she reconized this color as pink. Reaching out to pluck a flower off, she clasped it in her beak. Oooh, focus on the pretty colors.
Fae smoothed out her skirt- she was lucky it didn't snag. Looking up at Pueblo who seemed to have killed a flower...a sudden inspiration hit her. "Oh, Pueblo! What a wonderful idea! May I?" She asked and receied the lily. Carefully, she tucked the end into herhair clip and examined it in the mirror. "Perfect! What do you think?" Turning to her gryphon, she posed and spun around.
Letting go of the blossom, she cocked her head to the side and looked at her flower in her keeper's hair. It looked petty...wheather it was the flower, or the flower and her hair. She really didn't know anything about coordinating colors yet. But judging from her, she thought the flower was pretty, and so was whoever wore it. Swishing her tail a bit, she bobbed her head up and down to answer Fae's question.

April 22nd, 2005 Today Pueblo helped me coordinate a new look for me. We decided on a green skirt, brown top, and a bright pink lily for my hair. :3 Pueblo really seemed to be fond of the lily, too.
However, she still prances about with that feather tied to her ankle. She's picked and chewed at the ropes, but she likes to preen that perticular feather too. o.O Her likes and dislikes are starting to form, slowly, but surely. I don't expect them to define until she's a child though.

April 26th, 2005__________(Backdated) (Pueblo learns more about colors and shapes and discovers rain and it's effects!)
The sound of a faint 'schhhh' outside of the window indicated the sound of rain. The sky was cluttered with grey clouds, making it hard to believe it was still day, but the warm weather mae it imaginable. Abnormally tiny human hand-prints and smeary smiley faces were imprinted in the foggy windows; a clear sign of bored children confined within their home as another rainy day dragged on.
However, a dim light glowered in a corner of the guest room where Fae held a book sprawled in her lap. Pueblo was eagerly staring at the pages where she followed her keeper's finger even though she couldn't read. Fae read aloud a long while about the basic knowledge of what she had already given Pueblo. She didn't want to confuse the gryphon any more, and while the child and Fenthry found this all rather boring, Pueblo's attention was focused on the forigen text of the book.
After an hour had gone by, Fae rested her voice and hand to stoke Pueblo. "Well, I think that's hammered into your brain good enough for now. How's about a break?" She closed the book and laid it on the cushion, then got up to open the front door. A rush of refreshing, cool air swept through the house and made everyone's shoulders fall. "Twas starting to get like a green house in here," she grinned, then looked around the house. "Don't even have cold drinks," she murmured, then stared out through the rain. "We need to go to the Centre to store up on some ice, and perhaps an ice box," she thought aloud. Though it seemed clear, from her slightly dour stare, that it was only the rain stopping her. And the umbrella was in outside storage!
Pueblo sat up suddenly as story time ended and begun to shake her fur loose. Lifting her rear paw, it climbed to a spot just behind her ear where it itched most and started to scratch. Standing up and wobbling on the softer couch cushion, she shook her body around again before she slipped and lost her balance off her spot! With not enough distance from the ground, however, it seemed out of reaction whenever she should lose her balance that her wings would spread. And spread they did; it saved her a terrible fall. Flying over to Fae's feet, she peered otuside the open door. Her head followed the rain droplets until she decided this made her feel queezy if she did that for too long. Looking to her keeper's stare that was also looking at the water falling from the sky, she took that as indication and ran out the door.
But as soon as she realized that she was now getting soaked and she was standing in a place where the water didn't stop, her eyes went real wide and looked from the ocean and to the sky. She ran circles in the mud, trilling and hooting wildly before she saw the steps and ran for them. Running right into the house, she tredded little muddy paw prints right across the light colored throw rug...
Fae giggled at the sight of Pueblo, at first shocked and worried, but her laughter halted once she saw the little mud ball running right back to her... "PUEBLO!" She screamed and whirled around to quickly scoop her up before anymore damage was caused. But in the process, her outfit as well got soaked and muddy from the wiggling griff. "Hold still! I can't believe you..." She stopped. "Pueblo, it was only rain. But here, I'll explain it to you once you've had a bath. Look at what you did...you silly puppy." She couldn't bare to scold her little gryphon and she quickly lowered her voice to a banter. Walking off with the dirtied Aerandir, she directed Twizzler to close the door and open the windows to their screens. "Pueblo, all I can say is I hope you don't grow a passion for mud!"

April 26th, 2005 (Backdated)Well, at least Pueblo was calmer in the wash tub. I had to give her a bath in the last jug of distilled water I had in the washroom because she decided to run around in the rain! I swear, I don't know what got into her, but then she realizes what she had done, and runs back in like a mud monster, tracking up a few rugs. Luckily, the dirt came out after a half an hour's scrubbing, but as for my clothes, I'll gave to attend to their stains more when we make a trip to the Centre.
But before all this chaos, I was reading to Pueblo about all the 12 colors she knows of in different mediums. I showed her what each texture looked like in pencil, gauche (paint), pastel, chalk, and watercolor. This perticular book I picked up has a good source of different utensils and how they're used. I think she mostly took in the pictures though as she would tap them gently everyonce in awhile. I think maybe she's reconizing things she's seen lain around the house?
Well, one thing that I do know is that I need to stock up supplies from the Centre again very soon. We hadn't any chilled drinks on this green house island! Plus, I think it would be a grand idea to bring the family along for some movement. Twizzler has yet to see Cetalu.

May 1st, 2005 Today I have plenty of supplies. I feel less worried and rushed now that I've surrounded myself with drinking water and good food, yes, not worrying. And when I say this, I mean about Pueblo, too. I've started to read up on one of my favorite artists, Leonardo De Vinci. This is what we've covered (from the book) in the last past three days-Most famous Renaissance artist/inventor
The illegitimate son of a 25-year-old notary, Ser Piero, and a peasant girl, Caterina, Leonardo was born on April 15, 1452, in Vinci, Italy, just outside Florence. His father took custody of the little fellow shortly after his birth, while his mother married someone else and moved to a neighboring town. They kept on having kids, although not with each other, and they eventually supplied him with a total of 17 half sisters and brothers..
Growing up in his father's Vinci home, Leonardo had access to scholarly texts owned by family and friends. He was also exposed to Vinci's longstanding painting tradition, and when he was about 15 his father apprenticed him to the renowned workshop of Andrea del Verrochio in Florence. Even as an apprentice, Leonardo demonstrated his colossal talent.
Vinci finally set up a shingle of his own and one of Leonardo's first big breaks was to paint an angel in Verrochio's "Baptism of Christ". After that, his reputation grew.
In search of new challenges and the big bucks, he entered the service of the Duke of Milan in 1482, abandoning his first commission in Florence, "The Adoration of the Magi". He spent 17 years in Milan, leaving only after Duke Ludovico Sforza's fall from power in 1499. It was during these years that Leonardo hit his stride, reaching new heights of scientific and artistic achievement.
The Duke kept Leonardo busy painting and sculpting and designing elaborate court festivals, but he also put Leonardo to work designing weapons, buildings and machinery. From 1485 to 1490, Leonardo produced a studies on loads of subjects, including nature, flying machines, geometry, mechanics, municipal construction, canals and architecture (designing everything from churches to fortresses). His studies from this period contain designs for advanced weapons, including a tank and other war vehicles, various combat devices, and submarines. Also during this period, Leonardo produced his first anatomical studies. His Milan workshop was a veritable hive of activity, buzzing with apprentices and students.
Alas, Leonardo's interests were so broad, and he was so often compelled by new subjects, that he usually failed to finish what he started. This lack of "stick-to-it-ness" resulted in his completing only about six works in these 17 years, including "The Last Supper" and "The Virgin on the Rocks," and he left dozens of paintings and projects unfinished or unrealized (see "Big Horse" in sidebar). He spent most of his time studying science, either by going out into nature and observing things or by locking himself away in his workshop cutting up bodies or pondering universal truths.
Between 1490 and 1495 he developed his habit of recording his studies in meticulously illustrated notebooks. His work covered four main themes: painting, architecture, the elements of mechanics, and human anatomy. These studies and sketches were collected into various codices and manuscripts, which are now hungrily collected by museums and individuals.Credit given to the above infofrom this website. It's a lot to chew on, but I guess it doesn't all matter to Abby. She seems to find comfort when I read about him and point to the pictures.
So yes, I think I'll skip to his most famous works now. I think she'd enjoy that. And when she's older, we can study into him even deeper! But right now, I need to fix the children lunch! I think today we'll have...ramen, organic salad, and raspberry iced tea!

May 4th, 2005 (Backdated)Yesterday, I gave Kiro my data journal to help him with his Aerandir research. I knew he was only only studying animal bios, so I thought if he read about their stages, he would come to a well-rounded knowledge about the Aerandir spiecies. Even if it's not much to digest.
Pueblo seemed to take a strange liking to Anakiro, too. Though, I think it was his neko-jin side she felt more tranquil around.
So, as far as other news, we (Pueblo and I) just reccently finished Leonardo De Vinci's greatest works, or as I called them, master-pieces. She seemed totake most interest in his sketches of inventions more than his finalized paintings. I guess it was something new to her and she thought it perculiary interesting.
Today we're starting Mozart- I'm playing one of his songs, Greensleeves, as I tell her a little about him. I explained how an artist can be diversed in more than just pencil and paint, and Mozart, for example, composed a bit of music during his time in the 18th century. I'll later jot down some text that I'll have her exposed to.
