"An hour? I wonder how long this Genjutsu will stay up." Yuki groaned, he temper was always bad, maybe it was just this week, but today was not the time to anger him. He let himself close his eyes again, to let his mind wander off and figure things out. Hisaki said something about the trinkets being in a box in the center of the maze. "That complicates things." Yuki whispered to himself.

His comrade began to point, in what seemed like random directions, towards the center of the maze. "Ugh, I guess I will have to do it myself." He muttered under his breath. Yuki did feel a little bit of regret when he yelled at, or got angry at Hisaki, after all, they are friends. "Alright, I won't get mad. I understand that this genjutsu is pretty powerful and properly warped your mind like it has done to mine. Its obviously too big for us to counter it with our skill, so we need to do what we need to do, get out of here. I'm going to assume that the Kanji is the key out of here, so we'll both need one to get out of here and pass the exam." Then again, its really not Yuki's fault that Hisaki is an idiot sometimes, right? He decided to trust his gut and go back the way Hisaki came, assuming he came from the center and made his way towards Yuki.

Once again having lost patience with just wandering the maze to look for the exit she was now rather bored again. She paused quietly sneaking about and looked around, she felt like she could find the exit but at the same time this was an exam to become a chuunin right? so should she just head out for the exit? No she figured it might be a good idea to perhaps mess with some of the other genin involved in the test. Something about this dark dank area was starting to get to her too, it was so boring, so seclusive. She closed her eyes for a moment, and thought, how could she make this more fun? She rocked from side to side some as she pondered what it was she intended to do. She paused with a foot in the air it occurred to her now what she wanted to do, she turned around and headed back to where she had removed the seals that she removed and quietly moved to the top of the walls again. From here she could cause all kinds of trouble and remain unseen. She crouched quietly and only now noticed something, the shawl that when she received it was a brilliant golden orange color was now oddly a blue color, so what time was it then? She thought about it for a bit, she felt a little tired and hungry judging by those things it must have been a little after dinner time, so was it night? Did the cloak change colors with time of day? She tipped her head to the side and grinned how useful that was. She steadied her posture on the wall and then raced along its length looking for any potential 'targets'. She paused for a moment now having reached a good location and closed her eyes allowing her other senses to guide for a moment. She crouched and jumped from her current position to another and then moved silently along the top of the wall, doing this alone was quite entertaining actually because she could see most definite paths from this position and being able to play with her position and posture in regards to the surface she was walking was also liberating, so that made her more at ease as well. She started a long silent run her cloak only making the lightest fluttering sound behind her as she moved. She paused seeing a good spot that she figured any number of people might go through and took a deep breath before releasing a slick of water from her mouth, her preferred 'thick water' or really in other words spit, but it was more like water than saliva, but it was still viscous and slippery. She grinned at her little trip hazard and leaped away from there to find somewhere else to go.

Yua sighed heavily when she rounded the corner to see one of her symbols near the floor she was sick of walking in circles, she was sick of walking at this point, she adjusted the headband around her neck and wiped the sweat from her brow, and then moved the scroll slightly, she was very tempted to summon Senkai and have him move quickly through the maze to find the center. But if she did that then if Senkai ran into anyone they would know she had a puppet with her and if she had to battle them later. Yua leaned against the wall and then noticed a spot on the ground the looked like it sunk in, it must have been a trigger for a trap. Yua moved close and inspected it, she made sure not to trigger it and grinned as she leaned back and then heard another sound of a trap being triggered, and Yua had no time to react. ”Well crap.” was all Yua could get out before the net yanked her up into the air, this time she lost her scroll, it fell flat on the floor and un rolled alit as Yua found herself trapped in a very, very small net. Her Ankles where up by her head, and one of her hands was stuck through one of the holes in the net, she could barely move the net was so small, she tried to shuffle around but couldn’t really get any range of movement.

Yua sat there in the net for a while upset at herself, for falling for something so stupid, and this time actually really getting caught in it. She struggled a bit and then let herself hang there for a moment, she couldn’t reach her Kunai bag but the was fine both her hands could reach each other, Yua sighed as she sat there, in the net and looked down at the scroll on the ground and then up at the top of the net, she was in such an uncomfortable position in this net and her one hand was still caught but she could reach it she put her free hand next to the caught one and slowly made hand seals, she was in no hurry to get out and moving again, she was tired and sick of being lost, she finally finished the seals, and then brought her free hand up to her mouth and put her forefinger and thumb together and then flew a little and fire came out in a small burst and burned through the top of the net. Yua hit the ground hard with a loud thump, Yua sat there for a moment and then rubbed her butt there was a pain shooting through it, the ground was hard and she had fallen a good five or six feet. Yua looked up at the burning remains of the net and then stood up and began to roll up the scroll very carefully and then she sat it up and began to clean it off, she cared more for the scroll than her own clothes she slowly cleaned off the scroll and then once it was clean enough she sealed it shut and hefted it back up onto her back and sighed loudly. Yua then began to make her way through the maze again.

Yua was moving much slower and checking for traps around every corner. Yua kept going looking forward to seeing the end around the next corner she round but instead she saw a man standing there, Yua stopped dead in her tracks and watched him, he had a nice figure, He looked older to almost Yua’s age he wor his head band around his wrist, Yua could see the symbol of the sound village on the steel plate. Yua didn’t move and simply watched him, he had a deep red hair almost brown. He stood taller than she was, and his outfit was a vest and knee shorts he had fishnet connecting his shorts to his shoes, he also had a bit of Fish net coming out from his Vest and down to his elbows he was scratching the back of his head like he was confused he was standing in a six way intersection, he seemed rather lost then he turned and looked in her direction before shrugging and making his way down a path that Yua knew was a dead end. Yua walked out as he came back. ”I take it your lost to?” ”Yes I am have any idea which way to go?” The boy asked as he walked up to Yua with a smirk and his hand scratching the back of his head. Yua smirked he was nervous which made him kind of cute. ”If I knew which way to go I would not be here.” She said with a slight laugh and then she looked around. ”Well I haven’t gone that way, or that one.” Yua said pointing at two different paths. The boy nodded and then grinned. “My names Kai by the way.” “I’m Yua.” She said before he darted off one of the paths she smirked watching him go and then she turned to go down a different path.

Yua kept moving quickly she wondered if she would see Kai again, she didn’t know what the lodging was for the event, so there was no way to be sure Yua rounded a corner and looked at the two paths she could tell one would lead to a dead end it also had a trap in it, Yua moved quickly down the opposite path being careful not to run into other’s Kai may have been friendly but she doubted she would get lucky like that twice. Yua stopped and jumped over a trip wire for a trap, then she kept moving she had had enough of the traps in this place she was sick of them, and she wanted to make sure she didn’t run into anymore she kept moving as fast as she could wiping the sweat from her forehead as she moved through the horrible maze that she thought would never end. Yua rounded another corner and saw peoples foot prints this place seemed less traveled than the other area’s of the maze. Which was good it meant she was getting close to the end.

Hisaki nodded, Bu twhat dun is that? If he doesn't get mad, I don't laugh!. Hisaki drummed his finger to his bottom lip, "So it's a genjutsu. Ah, that does make alot of sense. I have felt a little off lately." Hisaki shrugged, "And here I thought the tags on the cieling were anti-genjutsu markers or something, to stop stupid gen types from cheating with their mental jutsu. You're the proficient one in this, right?"

Hisaki took a few puffs of his cigarette and looekd at the blank walls. He issued a big plume of smoke from his mouth then said, "You know, this place is really drab. Just endless paths and traps and stuff. Oh, yea, and a room with boxes. Booring. What this place needs is some real color. I could picture some red curtains maybe, or a candelabra. That'd be nice. You know what else would be fashionable? Carpeting. That'd be great too. They could get some oriental stuff, and maybe some wooden paneling to match the curtains! Ooh, then I could hire someone to do some feng shui, and make it nice and comfortable to live in. Ah, it'd be like a mansion in here! They aughta get some people on that job. I bet theres a few interior designers in Rice Country they could turn to. Better to impress the competition with, right?"

Oasis stopped mid step holding a foot with only her toes touching the wall and her other foot starting to lift as she heard some voices relatively nearby, two voices, plainly people who were now moving together, that was interesting really. A long mischievous grin spread over her face as she returned to moving and scooted along the wall until she was able to find the two, a girl and a boy were walking through the maze together at least temporarily she put a hand to her mouth and spat some of the same caustic spit she used earlier and wiped it on the barrier melting the one single mark she carefully slid down the wall and was now going to start a sort of cat and mouse setup following along behind this individual. She raced silently keeping a good distance between her and the quarry. When she reached a decision point Oasis knelt low and put her hands together letting out a quick blast of the same slippery viscous water she had used moments before in the other girls path before vanishing behind the corner and waiting for how her 'victim' would react.

Notwen sighed. It seemed that this trap was meant to test one's reflexes. With another look at the kunai-littered area, Notwen continued to travel down the corridor. About five minutes later, he came to a fork. There were three new corridors: one continued forward, one veered off to the left and the last one to the right. Notwen smiled.
"A maze." he said, remembering how Soba would sometimes give him a newspaper to solve the puzzles on the back. Mazes were Notwen's favorite puzzle. Soba gave them to him to aid in his tactician training

*FLASHBACK*

Soba was sitting behind his desk in the academy. He had been reading the newspaper when Notwen had come in from his lunch break.
"Back already, N?" he asked, looking over the paper at his student.
"Yeah. I was wondering if i could try the puzzles on the newspaper again." replied the academy student. Soba chuckled, beckoning the boy with a nod.
"N, you are the only one in the class that hangs out in here while everyone else is playing. You should go and get some air." Notwen walked to the desk shaking his head.
"I prefer being in quiet places. Besides, i get more training hanging out with you than playing around with the guys outside." Soba smiled.
"Is that so?" The chuunin folded the corner on the page he was reading, then flipped to the puzzles page. "Ok. I want you to solve this maze in five minutes." he said pointing to a large circular maze and handing Notwen a pencil.
"Piece of cake." said Notwen, looking a. He looked over the circular labyrinth, tracing a mental line from the opening to the center. Two minutes later, the boy had traced a line with the pencil. There were no mistakes from the starting point to the goal. "Done." he said triumphantly. Soba looked at the clock on the wall.
"I'm impressed, N. How did you do it?" he asked looking at his student. Notwen looked at his sensei coolly.
"I just thought about being in the maze myself."
*FLASHBACK END*

Notwen walked over to the corridor that veered off to the right. Placing his hand on the wall, he melted the rock so that a hand print was left.
"Let's see where you go." he whispered and began walking down the first path. 82 Event Lines

"Just because you're simplistic and not good at genjutsu does not mean it is cheating." Yuki grumbled sideways as he glared quickly at his partner. He listened to Hisaki ramble about his interior decorating issues as he walked farther and farther away from him as he continued onwards, talking about feng shu. The bishop turned slightly, about to make a snide or sarcastic comment relating to the conversation, when he felt a sharp pain to the side of his right forearm. Instead of inspecting the wound to see if it was bleeding like Nashi, he spun around to see where his attacker is, where he barely dodged another senbon from a kunoichi.

Wait, Yuki merely glanced at the girl before his memory alerted him of something. That was the girl from earlier, the one with the Earth Style Techniques! He dodged yet another few senbon as he motioned Hisaki to stop. "Hisaki, watch it! It's another Genin! Her name is Chikako, she's from the Hidden Sound Village and she uses Earth type ninjutsu!" He warned his comrade. Yuki was pretty confident that the two Hidden Leaf Shinobi could overcome the girl, but he didn't want to hurt her either. "Earth Release: Earth Shaking Palm!" She squeaked in her feminine voice as she slammed her hands to the ground after the necessary handseals. Yuki ran forward, past the intersection the girl had been waiting at, to avoid the very earth that he was just standing at be ripped and torn apart.

Chikako flew around the corner towards Yuki with unbelievable speed. "Mudshot Technique!" She announced as she seemingly puked up mud and launched it at Yuki from her mouth. He countered her mud ball with a quick set of handseals, "Wind Scythe Jutsu!" He whispered maniacally as he aimed his jutsu towards the projectile. It was sliced in two at the accurate wind attack, as Yuki's jutsu continued towards the girl at blinding speed. She flawlessly dodged his attack. Damn, she's faster than I've ever seen someone move. He growled as he took another hit from a senbon in the same arm. "Hisaki, help me take her out, she's in some kind of blind fury!" Yuki yelped to his partner.

"Simple. To be honest, I'm really deep and stuff. I'm so deep... That's why all the girls want me, because I write poetry and stuff. Yeah!" In Hisaki's short rebuttal, Yuki cried out in pain, then was on the defense. According to Yuki, "Hisaki, watch it! It's another Genin! Her name is Chikako, she's from the Hidden Sound Village and she uses Earth type ninjutsu!" Hisaki turned around, lollygagging a bit as the girl made an impressive Earth Style attack that he simply jumped over. The attack, it seemed, was meant to throw him and Yuki off guard, but Hisaki still wasn't into the battle.

Suddenly, mudballs shot past Yuki and towards Hisaki, who was easily irked by the sludgy attack. Yuki yelled to him, "Hisaki, help me take her out, she's in some kind of blind fury!" Hisaki pulled the cigarette out of his mouth and spat, "Sure, I just hope she doesn't get hurt." Hisaki pulled out a scroll from his scroll case. He whipped it out and tapped the inscriptions on the scroll. He pushed his hand into the paper, and withdrew a jet black blade, "Yuki! Get out of the way!"

Hisaki dashed forward, and used his flash step to get in front of his friend. He successfully side stepped and dodged several incoming senbon. Hisaki laughed, "Come on, girl! You can do better than that!" Hisaki brought the Blade of Oblivion over his head and swung. All of the sudden, a huge pillar shot across the labrinth, made out of the stone wall. It made a successful blocking technique.

Hisaki scoffed at the attack, then swept below the pipe-sized rock. He made a powerful thrusting attack under the pipe that was grazed off with another pipe of stone. Hisaki fell back and cut through both, opening the way, but as he did, the girl was preparing a surprise on the other side.

She yelled out the last required seal of the jutsu, "Tori!" Then announched the attack, "Earth Release: Rising Stone Spears!" Suddenly, huge cones of Earth shot from the ground and walls, attempting the spear Hisaki with their sharp points.

Hisaki blocked two of the incoming spears, and jumped over another. He had to retreat to escape the rest. He fell backwards onto the disrupted ground. He jumped up quickly, and deflected three more spears that attempted to impale him. In a flurry of rage, Hisaki sliced through the rock, making the path clear to the retreating girl at the end of the hallway. Hisaki barked at Yuki, "This isn't the end. She's going for a tactical retreat, so she's not at close range. We have to plan accordingly."

Fuyu continued to wander around, most of the area's he saw were now yellow, so there wasn't much choice now. He sighed as he looked down two hallways. left or right? He closed his eyes and desided that it would be the left hallway. As he walked down the hallway though he realized something. It was longer then the others. He pondered what that ment but it was soon cleared as he finally reached the center. A grin crept across his face noticing no-oe but then that grin faded when he only noticed a few boxes in the room were not open. This ment that he was part of the last to arive in this area. He quickly ran to the closest box and opened it. Inside was a stone with a marking on it with a string on it as well. He tied the rope around his neck and then rushed out of the center. Now to find the exit, but there was a problem. If he stayed like this, many people could see the stone and jump him. He couldn't take on everyone so he had to do something. Try the cloak... I never explained what it did. Fuyu didn't discuss this. He'd gone crazy enough in this maze that he just wanted out. He pulled the cloak over him and covered his entire body. What he didn't notice was that the cloak made him blend into the environment. While the cloak was over him, Fuyu thought it would be easier to stay out of sight on the walls so he used his chakra control and walked along the walls through the maze yet again while as stealthy as he could possibly be.

Back at the village, Kaala was following the crowd of spectators to the Colosseum. The festive air soon brightened the disguised bird's mood. There were many sights and smells that called out to him. He walked from stand to stand, trying every free sample.
Too bad Master is taking the exam. He's missing out on all the good food. thought Kaala as he munched on rice balls and dango. Ahead, the Colosseum loomed up. The structure was huge, and it was a wonder how the villagers actually built it. Kaala entered through the great archway with a river of people. Banners of ninjas clashing kunais were hung on the walls.
"Ladies and gentlemen on the right side, come this way please!"
"Right up these stairs, folks on the left! Please do not push!"
There were two Sound Village jounin on each side of the arch hallway ushering people up a set of stairs. Over each staircase was a sign that read "Spectator Seating". Kaala was on the left side of the hall. He climbed three landings and was soon up in bleachers. So far it was fairly quiet because the genin participants were still taking the first part, whatever it was.
Kaala found a seat halfway up. Any other person would have complained, but he had outstanding eyesight.
Come on, Master! Hurry up!

Back in the maze, Notwen had come across yet another hurdle. There was a huge pitfall that stretched for about twenty feet. The length of the wall above the pitfall seemed to be composed of very loose, grainy particles. He could hear them sift as a slight draft blew from somewhere beyond the pitfall.

"Okay, what's the catch?" said Notwen, staring at the walls. He took a kunai from his belt and threw it at the wall on the left. A long spike came out of the wall where the kunai had hit it. "So that's what it is." Notwen jumped and kicked off the spike, testing it's strength. It held. "Now to cross over this hole!" The genin proceeded to throw the kunais at the wall. Once there were spikes across the pitfall, Notwen took a few steps back. "Here I come! Suzume Koumyaku!!! For a second time, Notwen's feet were covered in a veil of heat and chakra. 106 Event Lines

Yua kept moving her mind straying thinking about the boy she had just met, and she wondered if she would meet anyone else in this crazy maze. No sooner had the thought left her mind then did her foot slip on something wet and sticky on the floor she fell flat on her butt which still ached from falling out of the net. Yua growled a bit and rubbed her butt and then stuck her hand in the liquid it felt like a large glob of spit, it was completely disgusting. Also the worst part was it was all over her, she tried to get it off but it wasn’t working so Yua quickly made a bunch of hand seals and then her cheeks swelled and she began to spit water all over herself. Once she was thoroughly drenched and all the spit was cleaned off she was so frustrated she needed to do something so she yelled. ”I hate this place!” Yua felt much better after yelling she huffed a bit and saw there was some of the spit like liquid on her scroll she quickly cleaned off the scroll and then looked around to see if she had triggered a trap, she hadn’t so now she was very confused as to where the liquid had come from, but she didn’t have time to fool around she needed to get moving again. Yua began to move through the maze again thins time she kept her left hand behind her on the scrolls seal, as she moved quickly and quietly through the maze. Yua wondered where that liquid had come for, was someone leaving it around to mess with people? Or was it set there for her Yua stopped and looked up at the space between the roof and the wall, and decided to inspect it more thoroughly this time.

Hatsuma continued crawling her way through the maze making mental imagery of the layout as she went along. She had actually come across a number of triggering devices likely for traps, it was odd that she had only come across them now, perhaps the path she came from had a different difficulty then traps and devices to hinder her and happened to be natural layout that would make her course difficult. Whatever the reason was she'd have to be more aware now, maybe she should look over those tags she had seen earlier and see exactly what is they did. She paused looking up at the tags and examining them carefully to see if she could figure them out. standing on the wall like she was might make it easier for her to see the symbols on them. After some time deliberating she had come no closer to figuring out what the tags did exactly it wasn't an issue she'd just avoid them as she had been doing so before... however if she did figure it out she might take the time to make fakes to put up behind her as she looked for a way out.

Oasis only just managed to hold back her giggle fit as the girl slipped in the trip hazard and went tumbling about in it. It was just as funny as when she used it head on against someone. Now that she had tortured someone she decided maybe she would be nice and help her. She jumped to the wall and melted the scroll before slipping along the top of the wall once she was close to the girl again she carefully slipped down in an area to the side and poked her stone kanji in behind her belt to hide it. Then she let out an exaggeratedly loud sigh. Then turning the corner she nearly walked right into Yua "You too huh?" she questions meaning hating the place "I heard what ya shouted earlier." she states with a big grin. "Maybe we could have better luck searching together?" she questions entirely dropping her stealth at this point, if need be she could likely make a hasty retreat.

Notwen ran across the spikes in about three seconds. He looked back and noted that all the spikes had held.
"Whoooo~ What a rush!" the boy exclaimed as he landed with a skid on the other side of the pitfall. Turning around, Notwen noticed he had come to a large circular chamber. As he stepped in,
he noticed ten ornate chests, six of which were already open. There was a pillar in the center. "This must be the center of the maze." Notwen said to himself. He approached the pillar, which had the words "Take One" chiseled into it. That must be referring to the contents of the chests, but why are there only ten? he thought, walking to one of the unopened chests.
Notwen opened the lid and found a stone kanji with a looped string attached to it. He picked it up and hung it around his neck, tucking it into his shirt for safekeeping. That leaves three more... Well, at least i got mine. 115 Event Lines
