User Image OK - If you'd like... I am interested in learning...

I doubt I'll spend my next ability point on INT though... so it may take me quite a while to actually be able to "learn" celestial...

User Image*I tell you how to say a few things in celestial... a prayer or something of the sort.

User Image I suppose that'd be a logical place to start - if you could write it down for me and a translated version in common, it'd be much appreciated, and easier to digest and retain... we don't all have photographic memories...

When you are escorted from your quarters, you notice that you are in a huge cavern. There are 4 ships in the cavern, the most menacing of which, is a smaller ship, more like a yacht in size, but what really stands out are the 15 foot hooked blades that are mounted along the side of the ship. These blades are obviously spring-loaded and shoot out perpendicular to the ship. The captain stops infront of this ship.
User Imagehe points to the boat you arrived on, "The catcher only serves to catch business. The real boat is this lil' guy, it is the true pride. Only set 4 ft in the water and has amazing speed. You won't find a better ship that is not powered by Amira's Conique. Lemme introduce you to the true 1st mate, Gwei.User Image He looks a little girly but hes the 3rd bravest man on this ship." He leads you aboard, this time with only a crew of 7. Trevisan on lookout, Mr. Worth the 2nd mate on the helm. "Believe it or not, nobody know's how to steer this ship better than the kenderkin." The first thing out of the elf's mouth.

User Image((Your character doesn't know I have a photographic memory))
"Sure" I pull out a parchment of paper and write the verse in Celestial. Then I write how to pronounce it in Common. Then I write the litteral translation.. then I write how it would be spoken in common. "There you go. That should help."

User Image "Heh - 'The Catcher'... I like the sound of that... you should let me come on a run sometime biggrin -

good te meet cha Mr. Gwei ~ Name's Coud - Glad tay 'ave ya aboard!

You don't know what I know - Maybe I was just making a nerd reference - perhaps you should concentrate more on how you play your character and less on how I play mine -

In spirit w/ my post, he doesn't respond to your talk, accept that he takes your hand and shakes it. He extends his hand, His handshake is fine, that is he provides a grip and is not a homo.

You guys are escorted to the only cabin. User ImageYou'll have to stay here fer a bit and you's may consider grabbin onto somethin and holdin on a real tight."
PostPosted: Tue Jan 10, 2006 11:05 pm

The boat lerches forward for all you can tell, and in only 15 minutes and several directional changes, you are left out of the cabin. The boat moves amazingly fast, in fact, it moves as fast as a modern day motor boat with little to no wind. 4 hours later, Trevisan spots a storm on the horizon. The crew immediately sets into securing the ropes and battening down the hatches and what not. User ImageCapt.Spitz talks to Lorea, "You see that storm? Watch us try to evade it. We'll do our best, but if we're caught in it, it will try to run us into the reef or drive us away from the island. Such is the way of that beast."

User Image"I'm sure you'll manage, Captain. Though I won't say the storm is not intimidating."

User Image"You bet we will. It ussually takes several passes around the island before we can actually slide past the beast. We have a rally island if it starts to get furious. At times, the beast has been particularly vengeful and has actually chased us all the way to this island." He points to several harnesses attached to winches. "if we have to, be prepared to winch off, the winds could get quite strong. " You may even get to see some real secrets."

The kender pilots the ship amazingly, he is truly a pro helmsman. As you draw closer to the isle, the cloud seems to coil and change directions. 2 funnels dropping from its base start swirling around each other as if performing a dance. User Image "This is where you winch off." He yells, "winch off" and the crew responds. *click, click, click* "Full Speed ahead, Mr.Worth." The Boat jumps forward, impossibly fast and then veers to go along side the island. The boat is being pelted now with rain and some sleet, obscuring vision greatly. The storm immediately changes direction. The beast thunders as if roaring at the boat and visibly increases speed, tentacle like clouds begin to stretch across the sky.The kender expertly navigates the boat for several hours, darting in and out attempting to draw closer to the island but all the while being pushed back. Occasionally, several wrecked ships come into view when get close enough to enter your range of vision, but for the most part, you two are largely blind beyond the boat.
