Dame_Diabolique Personally, I am attracted to white dudes more than black guys. I have found myself only using black guys as sex tools but only falling in love with white dudes. There is a lot of irony in that but that is just how I have been feeling lately. It is a real problem that needs to be solved, [..I missed the ironic part... xp Care to elaborate?
@ mshonesty: 3nodding Thanks for giving us more insight into your opinion. The examples you gave do seem almost abundant among those in interracial relationships, but of course there are some people who genuinely care for one another. I think also that there are a lot of people who, unlike Dame_Diabolique, wouldn't confess that they are in a relationship for reasons other than "love." 3nodding ]

From what I have seen and am continually shown, interracial relationships are for the most part based on shallow and selfish reasons, and that is why I am against them. From what I have seen and am constantly shown, interracial relationships are mainly based on (among other things): Sexual stereotypes: someone (or both) is only involved because of sexual stories told about a certain race (for example, how black men are all well endowed and good in bed, how asian women are small and tight and submissive, how white men do certain things that other races aren't as likely to do, how white women will do anything, etc...) Self hatred against the person's own race: one person (or both) feels that somehow if they're with someone of a different race, that makes them a little less whatever race they happen to be Subtly erasing their own race because of features they don't like about themselves: I think the best example I can think of at the moment are the black women who refuse to have children with black men because they want their children to have "good hair" and be lighter skinned, or women of other races having children with someone who is of a different race because they want their children to have certain features that they see as desirable but are mainly associated with a certain race Status/money/power/etc: The main example I can think of are black men who get involved with white women (or any race other than black-but mainly white) because it improves their status in society, and it's not just athletes who do it, it's black men of all socio-economic classes and levels and occupatons Very seldom do I see an interracial couple that is together because the two individuals truly like each other regardless of what is going on around them; there's almost always something else under the surface. You make some very valid points. It's funny because I tend to think that way as well. I'm okay with interracial couples when it's a genuine like (or I guess love, even though I don't really believe in that so much) for each other.

As for myself I don't care what race a guy is as long as he respects me and my family. I've never dated someone that wasn't black because Im a little afraid of what their family would say. I'll date Latinas and Asians, occasionally I'll step outta bounds and go out with a white girl, but there is no chance in hell I would ever cross my Momma like that and date a black girl. Nuh uh. Momma scares me. So your Mom doesn't have a problem with you having an inter-racial relationship just as long as its not with a black girl? Thats why Im afraid to actually date outside my race. Even when I date black guys I have to answer race questions because their families always think Im hispanic. I have a similar problem. Many people think I'm 90% Chinese! I'm only about 30% or somewhere around there.

How in the blue hell do you get 30%? My mom is also mixed, but with many races. sweatdrop That doesn't explain the 30% I can see breaking it into eigths and sixteenths, but 30% does not make sense.
