Zuko sighed as rain began pattering on the road. He look reproachfully at the innkeeper before addressing the grizzled man. "If you are looking for money, we can oblige you, but only to a certain point. But we have more than money." Zuko lowered his voice. I can make sure the Blue Spirit wont bother you for up to one year. What do you say?" Thunder rumbled closer and closer, and lightning flashed a few miles off. Zuko gulped as his fear returned. "Well?!" he demanded.

The old man laughed seeing the frightened look on the kids face. "You think I'm scared of that punk? I'll take your money but as for your 'protection', keep it. I aint interested." He closed the small window and jerked open the door. "I've got 2 spare rooms and a barn out back. There should be some hay but not much, just make sure ya leave my Ostrich-horse some."
Azula had been wandering around the forest for a good hour. There was a very familiar looking tree she had been passing for the last 20 minutes. The rain had gotten harder and was soaking her through to the bone. Lightning and thunder surrounded her as she sat down with her back against the tree. Azula hugged her knees close to her body to try and retain as much heat as she could, but she could already feel herself catching cold. "Some princess I turned out to be..."
It had been a long time since she had seen her boyfriend, far too long. Suki walked into the village where he told her he would be. It was hard to believe that just a short time ago they had brought peace to the Fire Nation. She saw Sokka carring a few bags towards a hotel. "Sokka!" she yelled, waving her arms in the air.

Katara pulled out some of her money, a mix of water tribe, earth kingdom, and fire nation coins, and payed the man. She led Appa to the barn out back, and pulled off his saddle. She patted his fur, and he licked her. "Appa!" She laughed, and bended the Bison spit off of her before she went back. When she was back, she caught up with Zuko, leaving Sokka to stay with Suki. "Who's sleeping where?"

Sokka turned around as someone called his name. "Suki!" he called, as he dropped the bags he was carrying. He scooped her up and swung her around a few times before setting her down on the muddy road and giving her a huge smooch. "How have you been? We're sleeping here for the night." he jerked his thumb at the hotel.

Yue kept her eyes on Sokka, happy he had found Suki, yet upset that it wasn't her in his arms. The moonlight dimmed a little.

Zuko shrugged. "I dunno. Suki might wanna spend all night talking, so take your pick." He stepped through the door and saw the staircase immediatly to the left. Walking quietly up the old wooden steps, and found the two doors the innkeeper had mentioned. "With Aang staying with the guru and Toph with her family, thing will certainly be a little roomier." he said, and a loud boom of thunder shook the house as lightning illuminated the hallway through a small window at the very end. Zuko groaned.

Katara nodded. "But you can't help missing them..." She said, looking off into the distance. She chose the room on the left, and put her stuff down. In each room there were two beds.

Zuko sighed and nodded. "It's true. Maybe we can pick them up for the autumn eqinox." he said, trying to reassure her. He slipped downstairs and went to find Suki. She was chatting with Sokka near the foot of the stairwell. "Suki, who do you want to room with?" he figured it was his duty as Fire Lord to let the ladies pick first.

Katara smiled, and when he left she went into the room. She looked around, and smiled when she saw a large vase, witrh nothing in it. She produced some water from the air, and bended it into it. She looked around, and found a bunch of flower pots. Some were dying, so she waterbended the water from the vase onto the plants.

Zuko let Sokka and Suki talk a little more. He wandered back upstairs and was suprised when the scar on his stared to throb. Stars appeared in his eyes, and the blood seemed to drain from his head. A clap of thunder cleared his vision, but the nerves of the new tissue on his stomach seemed to burst into white-hot fire. Zuko gasped and doubled over, and leaned against the wall for support. His vision blurred, and he silently cursed to himself as more thunder and lightning rumbled outside. Zuko fell on his knees before realizing what was going on. The static in the air was damaging his sensitive scar tissue, and it sure didn't feel good. Stumbling around, he managed to heave himself up and reach Katara's room. Maybe her waterbending could help, as it did after his battle with Azula. He pushed open the door and stumbled slightly. "Katara!" he gasped,"I think the static is doing something to my scar!"

"I'll bunk with Katara, you and Sokka can get the other room." she said, happily. Suki threw her arms around Sokka and gave him a big kiss on the lips. "I missed you, my mighty warrior." she cooed into his ear. She heard a yell coming from up the stairs. "Was that Zuko?"

"Mmmmm, I missed you too, my favorite Kyoshi warrior!" said Sokka with a big grin on his face, and nuzzled her afffectionatly. He heard the same yell, and worry spread accross his face. "Yeah, we sould go see what is wrong. It sounds kinda serious." He stared to climb the stairs, and waited for her to follow.

Things were just going from bad to worse with Azula. The tree she was sitting under was struck by lightning. This was possibly the ONLY time she was ever going to thank her father for teaching her the secrets of lightning, she bended the electric energys away from her. 'No wonder Zuko hates storms.' she mummbled as she ran towards what she hoped was the town. "The faster I find civilization, the safer I'll be."

"Go you slow poke!" she yelled, trying to push him up the stairs. They reached the top and saw it. Zuko was clutching his chest in pain, leaning against the door frame of Katara and Suki's room. He was saying something through gritted teeth but Suki couldnt understand it. "Oh my gosh!" The kyoshi warrior paniced and ran towards the Fire Lord.
The old innkeeper heard the noise form upstairs and grumbled "Damn, kids and their rock music..." he picked up his old broom and banged it against the roof. "Shut up in there! I'm tryin' to sleep!"

Zuko groaned and slid to the floor. With his back to the wall, the blurry faces of Suki and Sokka loomed into view. "Something..." he gasped as pain shot up through his spine "Something is going wrong! The static is doing something to my scar. Not that one," he said, as they both looked at his face. "The one Azula gave me! Its still new, and healing!" he muttered through his teeth.
