“I’m okay,” Kanti replied as she reached the entrance to the den. She looked at Sanoskue fondly. “Thanks.” With a bit of effort she managed to crawl into the den where it was warmer and curl up, her tail hiding all of her face except for her eyes.

Sanoskue crawled after her and moved the rock into place again. He laid down next to her and rested his head on her side, "It'll be warmer if we share body heat...I hope you don't mind." He said, thinking only of survival right now.

“It’s fine,” she replied softly. A small yawn escaped her. “Guess I’m more tired than I thought,” she said sheepishly.

Sanoskue smiled, "We should get some rest then...I doubt that doe will still be there tommorow, so I'll have to go looking for something else."

“Maybe I can help, catch a rabbit down by the creek or something,” Kanti said, yawning again. “In the meantime, good night Sanoskue, sleep well.” She licked his nose fondly and laid her head on his paws, already beginning to doze off.

Sanoskue just smiled and closed his eyes, drifting into a deep sleep almost instantly.

Kanti woke up slowly, her vision blurry for a moment before she made her eyes focus. She found herself curled up against Sanoskue, who was snoring lightly. Kanti chuckled softly and carefully crawled away, attempting to not wake him.

Sanoskue woke up as Kanti moved away, "Huh what?" He asked aloud, not yet fully awake. He blinked rapidly then he registered what was going on, "Morning Kanti." He said with a yawn.

“Oh, good morning Sanoskue. Sorry, I was trying not to wake you.” She gently nudged his side with her nose. “But now that you’re up, I suggest we go hunting.” When Sanoskue yawned again Kanti gently bit his tail and tugged on it. “C’mon sleepy,” she growled playfully around a mouthful of tail.

Sanoskue chuckled "Alright, alright. If the doe is still there you can knaw on that untill I return with something a bit fresher ok?" he asked as he crawled out of the tunnel. Blinking a bit, slightly snowblinded, he looked around and saw that while the doe was gone there where bits and pieces scattered around.

Kanti crawled out after him and looked at the scattered chunks of the doe. “Looks like we need to go hunting,” she observed. Without further hesitation she began to walk down the hill, careful but confidant.

Sanoskue walked after her and caught her tail in his jaws, genlte but firm, "And where do you think your going? Your legs are in no condition for you to be hunting, I don't want you getting hurt."

Kanti sighed loudly. “So what am I supposed to do all day, just sit here and do nothing while you do all the work? I don’t work like that. I wasn’t going to go after anything big, just a rabbit or two. C’mon Sanoskue, I’ll be careful.”

Sanoskue looked at her with a stern expression, he didn't want her to strain her legs to much, but at the same time, who was he to stop her? "Alright...just so long as your carefull..." he said as he scented the air, not getting a trace of anything fresh. He sighed heavily, it seemed his luck had run out and he'd have to actually search for prey today.

Kanti chuckled and playfully swatted at Sanoskue’s nose with her paw. “I’ll be okay.” She walked a few more yards down the hill. “See?” she called back to him. “Told you so!”
