[ffff I do too. ;__; ]
Hayden was only intrigued by whatever it was on the egg and stomped closer to it, narrowing his eyes curiously. "Ohman it's a lizard!" A grin spread over his face within a matter of seconds. Lizards were cool, no... lizards were awesome. He reached out in an attempt to catch it, but the creature zipped off at lightening speed, spitting the egg out at Hayden, successfully hitting him right in the shin. "Ow!"

"Ohmigosh, did it get you?" Freya peeked behind her fingers. She had covered her eyes the moment Hayden even started walking to whatever it was. She saw the grass move around it as it ran away, causing a squeak to escape her hands, which now covered her mouth. She shut her eyes and stomped in place, hoping that would scare off the whatever-it-was from getting her too.

Sorrel grasped at the eggs, but to no avail; she was only able to grab two or three before Theo had thrown himself over them, and she stared at him with a deep sense of dismay. How were they ever going to get any of them away from him when he was doing that? She let out a tiny whimper to match her expression.
"No, Theo, they don't belong to you! You can have some, but some of them are mine, too!" Her tone was pleading, as though she expected if she asked nicely he would give some of them back; and ask nicely she did, letting some extra honey seep into her voice. "Please?"
Of course, at the same time as she said that, she realized the truth that he likely wouldn't move unless they made him. Not wanting to resort to that yet, she scooted closer to him (bare knees acquiring the same dirt smudges as Adeline's stockings) and attempted to wiggle one of her arms under him in an attempt to snatch back even one more of the capsules.

"Naw the egg hit my leg." Hayden pouted a little, holding the egg up, but by the time he did that Freya was stomping in place. "It's gone Freya, it was just a lizard." He laughed a bit and got up. "Yer not scared of lizards, are you? They're really small!"

Cedric blinked at Gavin, who had been so kind as to introduce himself. The boy opened his mouth, about to give a proper greeting back, but all that came out was a
"Hiya. I'm Cedric"
What? That was NOT what he wanted to say at all. It was supposed to be longer, more verbose. Drat it all, his toddler body was preventing him from saying what he wanted. Apparently it auto translated into toddler. Ah well.
"These eggs are plastic..." he said with a sigh. "Was hopin' for real ones..."

Gavin grinned back at Cedric and then dug around in his basket, shaking various eggs until he found one with contents that sounded promising. "These have surprises though. Real eggs just have..." Gavin didn't really know what it was in an egg. "All the same stuff. Dun you like surprises?" He tilted his head to the side and opened the egg to reveal a small baby chick wind up toy that would hop when wound.

Freya stopped her stomping fit for a moment and looked at Hayden defensively, "No, I'm not scared of lizards, Hayden," She said with an awkward emphasis on his name. "They're just icky and gross." It was then that she just realized what Hayden had said before. "How'd the egg hit your leg?"

It was unfortunate that Sorrel even tried to reason with the invincible toddler force that was Theo, because not a single word penetrated his thick skull. All it was to him, was a bunch of noise that he didn't give two craps about. After all, he had what he had come here for, and now the mission was to leave with them. Ignoring every last pleading word that left her lips, Theo started to scoot back with his plunder - at the very same time Sorrel gave up and grabbed for them. Theo's pupils were huge, dilated blots of ink that followed every movement of her arm's advance.
Stealing his treasure? Oh, that'd happen. So the only logical conclusion was to stop the thief by any means necessary.
He bit her.
A sound of outrage had leaped from Adeline the moment she realized where the confrontation was going, but this time, she was ready to intervene. Her hand lashed out and smacked her brother in the back of the head, swift enough that he let go immediately and stared dumbly over his shoulder at her. Still angry, Adeline stood up at full height (all of about 4'6, with unimpressive skinny limbs), and grabbed the toddler under both arms. It seemed like a miracle that her princess-worthy little muscles could've lifted him, but she somehow managed to haul the boy off of the plastic eggs long enough to yell at him.
"NO! You say you're sorry RIGHT NOW, she was being nice to you! Sorrel, are you okay? THEO--I'M TELLING MOM!"
Her voice raised an octave or two by the end as the brat squirmed and touched his feet to the ground again, whining like a wounded animal. Ironically, the same girl had now been bitten by two members of the same family. Adeline wondered absently how she was ever going to keep a friend at this point.

"Nuh-uh, they're awesome." Hayden shook his head with a laugh. "When the lizard ran away the egg hit my leg...?" He blinked, realizing how weird it sounded. "I dunno it just did." He folded his arms and huffed a little.

Though she should have, Sorrel hadn't seen Theo's teeth coming. There was a brief moment after he bit her where she just stared in shock. And then she let out a sharp cry of pain and jerked her arm away.
A regular bite wouldn't have spurned as strong a reaction, but Theo's teeth were sharp, even at such a young age - with the amount of pressure he had put into biting her in his determination to keep her from her spilled eggs, they had managed to break through the skin enough to make her bleed a little. Tears sprung to the girl's eyes as she stared at the collection of tiny tooth marks as beads of blood collected in the centre of them. Unlike the time Adeline's tail had bitten her, this time actually hurt.
Cradling her bitten arm, Sorrel looked back at Theo reproachfully. What reason did he have to be whining? She was the one who had just been bitten! Then she looked at Adeline and nodded. The gesture wasn't particularly convincing, considering the fact that the tears hadn't yet left her eyes. "I'm okay," she reaffirmed regardless, voice trembling just a little bit. She seemed to be aware of how she sounded, however, because she held out her arm to prove it. A thin coating of something clear had formed over the crescent of tiny puncture marks, effectively stopping the bleeding. "See? I even have my own bandaid" And then she cast a glare at Theo again, and there was something in the look that said she wasn't going to be forgetting this any time soon.

Freya looked at Hayden with a very confused look on her face. "It what?!" She looked at the egg on the ground, then to Hayden's leg, then to a scurrying tail in the distance, then back to Hayden. "... That's... weird." She then turned her head sideways and looked at his leg. "You okay now?"

"It was weird, uh-huh." Hayden shrugged a little and picked the egg up to stare at it for a second before placing it in his basket. "Yup! No more pain." He grinned, looking up at Freya. "D'you think therrs anymore?"

Cedric shrugged at Gavin's question. "Sometimes surprise good, sometimes not. Never know until too late..." he explained with a nod.
"If always same, always know if something is good or not..." he said before cracking open one of his eggs. Looked like a noisemaker. Not his cup of tea.
"You want? Loud noises give headhurt..." he said, holding out the thing to Gavin.

Gavin had never thought about surprises that way before. "Guess that's true...I usually get good surprises I think." He saw Cedric hold out the noisemaker and took it with a smile. He turned it a bit and looked for the spot to blow into. He brought it to his lips and blew getting a loud noise. He pulled it away again with another smile and then pocketed it. While it seemed like it would be fun to make lots of noise with it, he didn't want to give Cedric a headache. "Thanks Cedric!"
"So...wanna look for more?" He grinned and rocked up on his toes before flattening his feet again.

Freya instantly shuddered, assuming Hayden meant lizards. "I don't want there to be! They'll spit eggs at me too!" She covered her mouth with both hands and looked around with a worried expression, thinking that she might've given any hiding lizards the bright idea to spit eggs at her.
