Dmitri's fit of depression only got worse as the day went on. His face was incredibly pale, or at least paler than usual. He had no energy for anything and he refused to talk anymore. Like..at all. Even when the teacher called on him in one of classes. He just looked up at her with his sad, brown eyes with his head resting in his arms. Luckily, Aaron had been there to cover for him.
After school was over, he trudged outside. He didn't have track that day so he considered just going home. But he had so much stress pent up in him, he decided to run. He ran down the school driveway and turned the opposite direction his home was. He ran faster and harder than usual. All he wanted to do was make himself so damn tired that he wouldn't even be able to think about Juliet again. Never ever again.
He didn't know how long he ran. He didn't bother checking the time. He just ran down every block and every street he could find. His legs ached and large beads of sweat dripped from his forehead. He was concentrating so hard on running that he didn't notice himself getting dizzy until he felt like he was about to pass out. He faltered and stumbled over his own feet. His vision blurred and he finally slowed to a stop. The sound of his own panting breaths reached his ears and he leaned over placing his hands on his knees. He stood there for a long time, staring wide-eyed at the ground in front of him. His head started throbbing and his hand flew up to the side of his face. He felt his heavy perspiration on his skin but he hardly noticed. He swooned and stumbled to the side, falling down towards the grassy lawn next to the sidewalk.

Juliet stepped from the building's doorway. A large sign titled "Vandwhel Dance Studio" rested just above the steps that she walked down. With some encouragement from Carol, she had decided to check out some of the other studios around her and see if she could get back on track. She had just gotten out of an interview. She walked down the cement pathway when she stopped abruptly, her cold water in her hand.
There before her was the crumbled up pile that was Dmitri. At first anger bubbled up in side but another step closer made it clear that things weren't all right.
"Dmitri?" she whispered, jogging to his side and crouching down beside him. Her hand reached out and grabbed him, rolling his body to the side so he was lied out flat. "Oh come on.... wake up..."
Worry clouded her face as she grabbed a small napkin from her pocket and whetted it slightly before resting it upon his forehead.

Dmitri's body lay still save for his slow breathing. He was quite warm to the touch and, if one looked closely, was shaking.
A quiet mumble was emitted from deep within his chest at the feeling of something cool on his forehead. His eyes tightened and his head turned to one side. He stirred a bit more before his eyes opened slowly. He saw the sky and a face next to him. It took him a moment to realize what was going on before he practically shot up into a sitting position. He squinted his eyes closed and rubbed his temples as he tried to gather his thoughts.
"Ugh...." he muttered, still massaging his temples. "My head..."

"Please," pleaded Juliet as she put her hand on his shoulder, "There's no reason to sit up so fast."
She looked at him for a moment longer before offering her water to him. "Drink. You're dehydrated."
She grabbed the wet napkin from his shirt and set it down beside her, her hand going to his and grabbing it. She brought it up to the bottle and wrapped his fingers around the plastic cylinder.
"Really... you should drink. I'm sure I have some sort of Granola bar or something in my purse."

Dmitri slowly opened his eyes when he felt something in his hands. He glanced down at the water bottle. He stared for a minute and, without much thought, brought it to his lips and drank a long gulp. When he pulled it away, he let out a long breath and slowly started breathing normally again. He then, slowly, lifted his eyes to his savior.
"Eh....sank..." He paused, seeing her there. "Um...sank you..." He felt rather confused and dizzy. He could guess what had happened but he had no idea why she was there. Or why she was helping him. He thought she hated him.
"Ah, no...no no, I'm...I'm alright..." he said, putting the back of his hand on his forehead. It was rather hot. "I can just go back home....I just need...to lay down for a beet. I'll be fine."

Juliet stared for a moment more before shaking her head.
"Nonesense... Come here," she said, slipping one of her arms around his waist and slowly lifted him up with her, "They'll have more water inside... and you can sit until you feel better.I'm going to move now? Will you be okay if I help you along?"

Dmitri closed his eyes again. "Eh..I...I suppose I don't have a choice, do I?" he said as he tried to will himself to move. He got his feet underneath him and tried to clear his head as he pushed himself away from the ground. He was incredibly dizzy once again and felt as if he was going to fall if he moved anymore, but he tried to ignore it.

Soon the two of them were back into the studio. The owners, once knowing what was going on, were very accommodating and quickly got him to a place where he could sit with his feet up.
Juliet stood beside him, her open palm once more on his shoulder. "I'll be right back. I'm going to get you some more water."

Dmitri sat, staring at the floor. He glanced up at Juliet when she spoke to him and he nodded. He was still very confused. Had he lost a day or few weeks of memories or something? Because the last thing he remembered was that Juliet hated him. But he remembered running and he remembered passing out. He also remembered not eating lunch. It didn't make sense.
He glanced out the window and then looked at his phone. It was almost five o'clock. He had been running for over an hour at least, most likely more. He wasn't sure how long he had been passed out for, but he assumed it wasn't too long. He rested his head back in the seat. His mother would be home soon....she would worry if he wasn't back.

Juliet came back with a water in her hands and offered it to him.
"They apparently don't have ice but I'm sure just cold water will work.... Are you feeling better?" she asked as she held the cup out for him to grab.

Dmitri looked up as Juliet returned and gave her a smile. "Sank you," he said as he took the water. "Yes, I am feeling a bit better." He took the cup and held it up to his lips and realized that his hand was trembling. He grabbed it with his other hand to steady it and took a drink. "Eh...I probably shouldn't have skipped lunch..." He gave a slight smile and a weak laugh.

She stared at him in silence for a moment before pulling out the small bag of crackers she had found in her things.
"Here, eat these. They'll help you regain your energy... If you think you'll be alright I suppose I can go then... do you have a way home?"

Crossing her arms upon her chest, Juliet looked away from him.
"I couldn't have you dieing... please don't push yourself that hard anymore... people will blame me if you die..."
With that she turned and walked out of the studio. She had to go home. She couldn't believe she had helped him, but what was she supposed to do? She couldn't let him die... she'd feel too bad about it. That and that a** Aaron would probably come kill her once he found out that she was there.
She shook her head as she walked once more down the steps. She was too soft hearted... and still so full of resentment.

Dmitri watched her leave. Confusion still floated through his mind, but he was just trying to gather his strength again. He ate the crackers and drank the water she had given him and thought. His depression wasn't gone, but it was dampened by a bit of hope. She had saved him.
But then her final words stung at him. People would blame her if he died. Was that the only reason she helped him? Well, it didn't matter. Not yet. He'd find out eventually.
After a while, he found the strength to stand and walked home. He had lied, sort of. His home wasn't that close. It took him about fifteen minutes to get there, but that wasn't too bad. He stumbled a few times, but he could handle it.
By the time he got there, both his mom and his sister were home already. He walked in the front door and his mom immediately turned to look at him.
"Dmitri," she said, worry suddenly lining her expression.
"I-" he began before a loud voice cut him off.
"Biiiiig brotheeeeeer!" came Kat's voice as she came running towards him. He put out his hands and tried to stop her but it was no use. She was like a charging bull. She tackled him in a hug which he usually could stand just fine, but not this time. He toppled over backwards at her weight. His mother gasped and came running over and Kat just sat on him, confused.
"What'sa matter, Dmitri?" she asked, looking at him as she sat with her arms around his hips. "You don't usually fall like that.......ewwwww!" She suddenly made a disgusted face and took her arms from him. "You're all sweaty! And your clothes are wet! Ewie! Dmitri germs!" She stood and started to run away, waving her arms in the air.
Dmitri sat for a moment before his mother came over and helped him up. "Vhat's zhe matter? You look terrible..." she commented.
"I pushed myself a beet too hard..." he admitted, not quite looking at her. "I passed out on the way home." Her hands flew to her mouth and he quickly tried to ease the blow. "Don't vorry! Don't vorry! I'm fine. I got help...and I'm fine. I just didn't eat lunch today so..I vas stupeed. But I'm fine now." He smiled. "I'm going to take a shower so I can get cleaned off. Please don't vorry about it."
"DMITRI GEEEEEERRRMMMMSS!" Kat yelled, running past the two.
