SLY

Name? It had no name. Nor was it a daemon. It only was. However, flesh had called it many things, and, it spoke to him such. "You are not worthy of names." It's voice, laced with fire and unknown language, seethed at the air it moved. "But the First shall call me Slyshanee. If it is to name your fear, you only need to know 'Darkness'." It disintegrated and reappeared five feet from him, standing tall and proud. "You have quarrels with the First and Second. If you act upon either, I shall personally break the bonds of the realm of flesh and show you what it is to die. The last we, the beginning, did this, it created the ground upon which you stand. I can make it crumble, and not even your nimbleness shall save you." It crossed its arms. It turned its head and turned back with the face of the Second. With her voice it spoke. "You wish for this," it turned and spoke with the face of the First, "but you would kill this?"

It turned and went back to the face it had before. Its eyes were black now, and its voice made the walls tremble in fear. "You will do what is ordered of you, lest your mortal soul be cast from the realm and into oblivion." It disappeared once more and rushed to the side of the First. The Second was present. "You have a visitor in your room, Second."

DAHN

The figure looked at the people in the distance. He had seen the faces of many men take their final breath, but those men deserved to die. These souls were innocent, blameless of their sins. "I accept. You shall call me Dahn, for it is the name my parents gave me." He turned from the window and stood at the back of the room in the deepest shadow he could find. He would wait until called forth to be awakened. He would not speak again.

Lilith

Lilith raised one eyebrow in quizical confusion at Sly, then nodded in thanks for being informed. It was fairly clear who it would be. She slowly stood, "then I'll beg to be excused," she bowed deeply from the torso. She stepped backwards, turned, summoned a portal several feet away, then walked in, phasing between the throne room and her own room. Her eyes quickly scanned the room till they fell upon Koji. She wasn't surprised to see him, she couldn't think of anyone else who would dare enter her room other than The Shadow himself.

"I don't think I need to give you a tour," she gestured at the room. It was all exactly as it had been before. Speaking of which, this was the first time she herself had been in the room since the last Shadow died. It was strange how familiar it felt, as though she hadn't been gone long from it at all. It was bizzar how right everything felt, every touch, sight and smell seemed normal despite her imprisonment. She returned her attentions to the assassin. "What do you want?" she questioned his reason for being there.

Zanos Falen: The Heir

Zanos nodded at the assassins reply, "Im glad to have you with us Dawn, I promise you that i will do all in my power that you wont have to break your ideals." he did not understand his sharp retort about the money but he figured he would find out in time. He turned to sheba, "So whats next?" he asked calmly.

Koji Kasshin

"When your heartbeat stops, remember that I killed you..."

Koji, for the first time she had ever seen, finally decided to release his true potential. "This is what not even you have ever seen," Koji stood up, the red armor seemed to glow, it seemed to bathe the area in blood. He smiled, "this is what I naturally look like, but the Shadow, the true Shadow, told me to hide my true form, and to only use it when the situation merited it." He walked over to her and brushed some of her hair over her ear, "I'm offering you the chance to join me on my quest. The Shadow taught me as well, but still most of my abilities were learned alone. I want to bring him back, and I need your help," for the first time in a hundred years, Koji let a little of his emotions show through his normally calm features, letting her feel his love. He cupped her face with his hand, "please?"

Galbrix

OOC: ((Sorry to be gone so long... so much to catch up on too...))

Galbrix had been glad to call this demon a name and even greater joy flled him when he learned it had served The True Shadow. Slyshanee. He would hope to remember that name. Being The Shadow wouldn't be too bad...

And when Lilith bowed to him he felt that awesome, terrible pride swell even greater... but the news was that which he had not expected. Slyshanee had appeared and warned Lilith of a visiter, and Galbrix was glad he only had to hold his facade of strength for a few moments until she left. Then he sat upon the stone steps, running his long, skeletal fingers through his white and thinning hair.

"Who would have thought that forging a civilazation would involve so much trial and tribulation. Such a stubborn assassin... and my death to be involved..." Gabrix shuddered, then continued, "Did The True Shadow use you as an advisor?" he asked Sly, not looking at it. He could surely use that and more. Come of think of it, why didn't these miserble humans wipe themselves out? Were they not already such a war-like peoples? Were not most sentients war-like in nature? Why were any of us still alive? He stared at the ceiling, noticing the small cracks in the dome shape above him. By the end of this war, he thought I will have this place a nice city, large and law-abiding and... and followers of The Shadow... The only question now was which one he would choose... himself or his mentor...

Lilith

Her eyes traced this new form. It was alien and unfamiliar, but the manner of speech assured her that it was in fact the same man. Her eyes drank in this new him, slowly tracing his face and figure with their movements. She was silent for several long moments. It felt like hours, but was likely just minutes. Though the movement wasn't entirely concious, she felt herself tilt her face closer to his hand, her own hand coming to meet it and hold it to her. As soon as she felt her fingers touch his skin, she stopped, then recoiled like a snake, stepping backwards though she did not take her eyes from him.

"The Shadow..." her voice was strained, as though a thousand thoughts were flying through her head, and a hundred choices batteling for supremecy. "The Shadow..." she repeated, "is gone..." she spoke slowly, more to herself than him. "The Darkness itself has placed a new Shadow on the throne... It's my duty to remain by his side. The humans are growing nearer to destruction, but the Warriors have been resurected. I cannot ignore this threat to run about chasing ghosts." She turned her back to him and walked several more steps, trying to clear her head properly and think things through. "We know how this sort of thing ends up... it didn't work before, it wont work now," she spoke as though the words pained her to even think, one hand gripped the bed post in support as she turned to face him once more.

((by the way everyone, Koji created a new character, a general for the Shadow side, he needs someone to free him from the statue he's in by breaking it. Please read the bio on the first page to see what I mean. Anyway, if any of you can manage it at the moment, please do so so that he can bring the character in))

"When your heartbeat stops, remember that I killed you..."

{{OOC: This is where Scream by Avenged Sevenfold would fit... good theme music}}

Koji walked towards her and pulled her close, taking her hands into his own, and whispered to her, "this form is more powerful than my old one, I am the Prince of Darkness, not above the Shadow, but close. I know how we can bring him back," he pulled her yet closer, putting emphasis on the 'we'. "Trust me, it could work if you allowed your heart to do it's work," he used his abilities to create an illusion of them, standing alone together in a sphere of darkness, their own little world. He let it fade, it wouldn't work, not on her, only physical would, she was too strong now for illusions. "If you believe, anything can happen, even bringing the true Shadow back instead of this... this placeholder." He spoke gently to her, and squeezed her hand, not hard, but not too light. "It's our chance, the time is now."

Lilith

She felt her breathing quicken, her heartbeat pounding in her ears. She felt herself forming the words of acceptance in her mind, that she would go with him. He was too close. She couldn't think clearly. At the same time, she wanted him closer... Suddenly she felt a force of will grow stronger,"shar" she said in her native language, speaking the spell to clear her mind. Instantly she felt the emotions leave her head, like a fog that had dispersed with a single gust of wind. She could now think and reason clearly. "Sansiss ssin'urninness," she said, the language she hadn't spoken in a long time rolled off of her tongue so easily.

Her hands slipped out of his, and she took another step back. She shook her head, "my duty... is to protect The Shadow. This is the one who now sits upon the throne." Lilith reached out so her fingertips brushed against his cheek, then dropped to her side. She forced her face to become apathetic, knowing that both of them would break if this continued, "the past should be forgoten. It's over," she said, as though she couldn't care less about him. It wasn't her true feeling about him, but she felt that things would ultimately be better this way.

"When your heartbeat stops, remember that I killed you..."

Koji looked hurt and left through a portal, once through the portal, however, he smirked. He had her, it was as simple as that. He had planted the seed of love within her, and now it was only a matter of time. True, he did have strong feelings for her, but he could show those later when his plan worked. He knew from how she entered and how she carried herself that she was expecting poison, so he would start with something he would have tried last. He put a Devourer worm in the food. It was a deadly organism, and he was sure it would be found, so he prepared a trap on her body itself. He was sure she hadn't noticed the contact poisons that had gotten on her hand from his own, and as soon as she touched the food, it would seep in and become lethal, and it would happen after she had already cleared it. He looked over his true form, it made him feel more powerful. He walked through a portal and arrived back at his own room in the castle, all of his stuff already moved back in. He laid on the bed, waiting for the summons to the royal feast celebrating the new Shadow's coronation.

Lilith

Lilith sat on the edge of her bed, thinking, for a long time. Eventually she stood, sighed. She felt that she had to do something to take her mind off of the seriousness that had just passed. She moved through a portal to the edge of the land of the Shadow's power. She knew the exact line that marked passing into the human territory and walked with one foot on either side. It was not a real line, of course, just one she had memorized from maps and statistics. She saw something up ahead, something that reaked of power and bloodlust. She recognized it at once and started towards it with some speed. He had vanished, leaving behind nothing but a stone statue, declaring his return upon it, but where was he? Now that there was once again a Shadow to lead them, how dare he not obey his masters call? She was still several yards away when she whipped out her staff and cast a bolt of magical energy at it, an angry glare in her eyes. She knew she was probably just taking her emotion out on it, and there was really no reason to destroy the statue, but The Shadow had no use for generals who did not return when summoned. The shrapnel from the explosion of rock flew everywhere, and one passed by her cheek, leaving a light cut in it that bled a few drops. She cursed to herself as the dust settled.

Omen

As the debris settled a slender figure lay crouched at the foot of the statue. His skin Grey and sickly, a few wisps of Grey hair hung from his scalp. Darkness settled around his shoulders creating a cloak of darkness. Beside him blasted from the grip of the statue lay a long slender black sword. Bright red symbols of an ancient language glowed along the length of the blade.

The figure looked up at the frustrated young women and grinned, "Long time no see young Lilith... it has to of been what... a century or so." he said in a Dry raspy voice. He was missing much of his teeth but one K nine tooth stood out among those that remained, It was long sharp and lethal. He opened his eyes and grasped the sword with both hands using it to stand as much as he could. Once he reached his full ability to stand he stood shakily still grasping the sword. He took a shaky step, then another his right leg seeming lame. "I have returned." he said with a twisted grin.

((I was actually hoping it would be her because they would sorta know each other.))

"When your heartbeat stops, remember that I killed you..."

Koji decided to spend some time aquainting himself with some abilities only this form could use. He learned that he could make himself fully invisible except to those that knew him well, meaning no one could see him except Lilith. He learned that he was stronger and faster than before, and, most importantly, he could raise the dead. He only needed to find the Shadow's resting place. Koji drew a katana which had no sheath and magically floated at his hip, meaning he could grab it and not worry about the hinderances of a scabbard, and he also found an Onikaze shuriken that could fold up (Demon wind, Oni meaning demon and kaze meaning wind) and be attached to his sash, as well as a dagger made of blackened steel so as not to reflect light, just like his katana. He decided to test it all out and go for an assassination.

On his way he sensed an old presence and decided to check it out instead. He saw a man he hadn't seen in a very long time, conversing with Lilith. He decided to listen, this man could be a threat to him. Then he noticed it, a slightly curved canine tooth... the man was a true vampire, as much as Koji was an artificial one. True vampires were a slave to blood, Koji had thanked that he was only an artificial one for every day of his life, he also found himself kind of pissed off that Lilith was talking to someone else. A slight twinge of jealousy and anger. He examined the feelings for a moment, and realized that after all this time, he was starting to love Lilith again, he couldn't avoid her; he'd tried many times before her imprisonment, and she'd turned up every time, looking slightly hurt that he'd avoided her. "********, my own plan backfired, I wanted her to love me again so I could use her, but I began to love her again as well. Now I'm in some deep s**t."

{{Sorry for posting like a novel, didn't think it would be this long. I guess my friend's posting habits are getting to me now, his posts are always like this, damn, this OOC thing is making it even longer...}}

Lilith

Lilith observed him for several moments, then commented, "Indeed, though you seem a little worse for wear. I guess I wasn't the only one imprisoned for so long." She tilted her head slightly, rubbing her left hand against the back of her neck once in contemplation before letting it move to her hip. "A new Shadow has taken the throne, I trust you will serve him," she questioned, eyes on him. She needed to be sure that after all this time he was still loyal. If he was, and was still fit to serve, then that meant that two of their generals had returned. The Shadow would be pleased about that, though not about Koji's disloyalty.

"You look like you could use a meal," she offered, with every implication that 'meal' didn't mean a plate of food, but rather a human body for him to feast upon.

"When your heartbeat stops, remember that I killed you..."

Koji decided the conversation was getting boring and decided to spice it up. He made sure that he was in his true form, and walked out, tattered red cape billowing behind him.

"Interesting, but also very boring," he said, walking out from the shadows. He turned to Lilith, "we always seem to run into each other, don't we?" He faced the vampire without waiting for an answer from Lilith, "and I think that we need to be introduced, it's been a while." He smirked and rested his hand on the hilt of his katana.
