Before the other party could have a chance to retaliate, the ground below shook with enough velocity to rival that of a small earthquake. Lasting for only a second, the area around the 4 genin quickly calmed back down as the barrage of rocks finally ended as well. From the many cracked and broken floors of the dojo, an item suddenly emerages from the ground at the other end of the dojo. Hovering partcially in midair, you notice that the item was a medallion of sorts. Looking around at the smash dojo, you see an various obstacles in the form of large boulders sticking up from the ground blocking your direct path to the floating item. With two different teams going after the same relic, it was now a race to see which team will reach the floating artifact first.

User Image As Zin was about to blow a gash in the dojo's roof until he re-thought his brash idea. That lady is probably keeping her eagle eye on us. She already threatened us last time about the tree.....But I'm tired of David getting all the fun! I'm the prince of the Rice and son of the greatest shinobi that ever graced this earth! I know he wouldn't approve of me sitting on my bum while another obtains many abilities and powers of old. When Zin finished his coaching to himself, the child noticed that the furious barrage and rocky war that happened within the poor building had ended. If this wasn't a better time for him to prove his worth to himself then he didn't know what was! Jumping from the roof Zin briskly moved to the Dojo door as he saw small crack, that was just enough to slip his snakes in. Thinking to himself,Zin could indeed barrage in himself, but seeing as there was possibly already a full team in there, plus David, plus even more dangers, adding himself into the room would just add more chaos. But then again......why put himself and other's in that situation when he had long-ranged scouts to do his bidding. Kneeling on his knee,Zin out-stretched his right arm and placed the sleeve covered limb on the ground as he focused on producing four more snakes from his being. The boy made sure although, that he kept his back to the Abarume,so that his power's wouldn't be completely shown if at all.

The snakes slipped out from the child's arm as he hissed to Nagi in the ancient language of the Naga, which would just be a fury of hisses to any other person outside of this sacred tongue,"Nagi...I want you to go into the Dojo and directed these snakes. Tell them where to find something of great importance. It will be something that greatly stands out from the rest of the Dojo and make them retrieve it. It they must, swallow it half-way into their mouth's carefully and bring it back to me post-haste!"Zin hissed to Nagi as his serpent friend nodded and hissed the orders to the other four snakes before they each slid underneath the Dojo door;or any other crevice that would gain them admittance.

With the four snakes in,plus Nagi, they slid into position while Nagi slid himself to find not only a higher ground to see,but also a safe place from any impending dangers;since Nagi was rather the smarter of the Naga snakes seeing as it constantly learns along with his master instead of the other's that get produced to serve a purpose and then are let free. Nagi, upon seeing the item, hovering in the corner of the room, hissed to it's four celled snaked team and gave them directions. Hoping that with them being low to the ground, quick, and gaining directions from a....moderately intelligent overseer, that they would achieve the item that their master so desperately desired.

Finding shelter behind his dome, Shinji waited for an answer from the strange young Genin, but received none. None would be needed however as soon, the room would stop hurling boulders at them from all sides, calming down with on last violent quake. The danger passed, Shinji stood up and looked around the room, hurriedly searching for anything which might be the artifact he had come for. He would be damned if any of these others would get the relic before h, considering it was there team who had bared the brunt of it all.

Searching the room, Shinji finally saw the relic, what looked like a medallion suddenly rise from the ground and hover in mid-air across the room. without wasting a second, he broke out in an immediate sprint towards it, navigating around the battered room, jumping off of boulders and the like with various acrobatic maneuvers before reaching the destroyed stone desks which was his child learning. Coming to the steps, Shinji suddenly felt a great pain in his leg, halting his movement as he crashed against the side of the stairs, the pain filtering out across his entire body as he was immobilized. The agony continued for several more seconds before he could finally spot what looked like snakes approaching the medallion as well.

With utter determination and a hint of anger that these Genin would attempt to steal their artifact, Shinji forced himself up, flashing a complex set of hand seals as he stood tall and screamed out his next jutsu... "Doton: Doryu Taiga!" the earth immediately opened up on either side of him as a river of mud began to shot forth from the ground, flowing forward over the desks as it gained an impressive amount of movement, speed and size the technique. Whereas the normal technique would only drag someone away, Shinji's natural prowess made this a rank higher then even that, making the earth river into a torrential flood which exploded across the stone desks, blanketing the area in fast flowing mud and carried debris, which would surely drown and bury the snakes slithering toward the medallion.

His adrenaline surging, Shinji then found the strength to continue on, as he flashed another set of hand seals quickly... "Tsuchi Gunjikoudou no Jutsu"... Instantly as the technique finihsed, Shinji had sunk into the ground, swimming through the earth with the military movement technique, as he navigated through the stone desks and mud rover to appear right up next to the medallion, as he reached out and grabbed it triumphantly.

Vincent had tried to dodge the falling rocks but eventually some of them had managed to hit him at various parts of his body. Each one hitting him as if they were dozens of fists slamming into his body. There were even a few that managed to hit him in the head knocking him off balance.

He started to wonder if the appearance of the other ninja was something caused by the blows to his head. Eventually he staggered his way towards the other end of the room.

He even saw Shinji diving into the floor and arising again at the other end and grabbing the medallion.

"We did it," Vincent said as he fell to his knees and grabbed his head.

David was about to reply to the boy's question, when the room shook unexpectedly, dropping him to the ground in a rather unsatisfactory manner. That was apparently all the other genin needed, as he ran across the room heading for the artifact, which David could see appearing on the other end of the room. Well, he wouldn't be standing for that.

Lurching back onto his feet, David took off towards the artifact at a speed that could easily rival the other genin, possibly surpass him if he hadn't been wearing so much extra weight. As he reached the first boulder that truly blocked his path, the boy simply stuck out his hand, destroying the boulder on impact as it crumbled into sand. it was at that point that he saw the Iwa genin stumble, but annoyingly enough create a river of mud before vanishing himself. And then reappear at the artifact? That could not be tolerated! He had had too much disappointment recently to let it go like that. Grabbing his staff from his back, the boy lunged forward, leaping onto a boulder and using it to jump the distance to the artifact, and the other boy, he slammed his pole forward. But not towards the opponent, no. He aimed for the chain of the medallion, putting the pole through it to either hold it in place, or tear it from his opponent. Which it would be was the other boy's choice.

With the sand ninja quickly in pursuit, for that is what he had to call him as far as what he could see of the boy's ability, Shinji had no sooner grabbed the medallion, then did a metal staff come flying towards him. Nimbly bending backwards jsut in time to escape the staff's path, it just barely grazed past his chest, and had found it's way precisely through the chain of the medallion which Shinji held. Looking at the boy with surprise at his forward nature to procure an artifact which they did not achieve of their own... Shinji suddenly smiled sadistically. "I suppose if you're not good enough to get them yourself, you've got to resort to other means... eh?"

Without wasting a second of what would surely be a surprising maneuver, Shinji suddenly rushed forward, his hand still holding onto the medallion as the chain shrieked with a metallic sound as it was dragged across the pole's body. Shinji had in fact rushed the boy, using the pole almost like a zipline as he shot forward. Then, spinning clockwise, Shinji switched the medallion from his right hand to his left as he held on tight, planting his left foot solidly, before bringing his right around in a devastating backward spin kick aimed directly at the boy's chest. If the attack did not seem threatening enough on it's own, it soon would as his leg suddenly began to glow bright with his silvery chakra, his bloodline's augmentation screaming off of his leg violently as it threatened to decimate anything it struck.

User Image Zin as he waited heard the frivolous hissings from Nagi finally had to enter himself. Anyone that endangered his serpent would feel his wrath. Coming into the room,Zin saw the destruction for himself and even worse, saw his snakes stuck in the mud. Walking over to Nagi who was on a higher level,he let his poor pet return to his shoulder before utilizing the cracked walls and chakra on his feet to gather his snakes from the mud. Though they failed.....it wasn't a failure that he could be angry off of. Whoever produced this mud pool wasn't a normal Genin;then again, what classifies as normal anyway when it comes to his world?

Looking down Zin saw the dispute between teams. Obviously.....they came in last, and rather did it in vain,as now the other team now had it in their grasps. Now Zin could swipe the material right out of the other's hand with his speed but that would require: A) Zin has to exhibit his abilities and B)The ground would be at least somewhat even. It was so broken up,he was surprised anyone could reach any full speeds in this place. Sighing lightly Zin hissed to David as he watched them rather battle for the items which Zin truly wanted. From what it looked like,it seemed like the perfect item to gain to retrieve another item but in order to get that item you would need that one."Quite a conundrum." Zin said as he shook his head and looked down to David,"David-san......I believe we should move on and not waste our time fighting them. We have many more riddles to go through. Losing this one, though unfortunate,is not the end of the world."Zin said,a bit bitterly but he remeber Matsuya saying to him,'Don't Cry over spilt milk.' Plus, the child rather not waste his energy battling for one artifact when there was still a full page of them.

Vincent knew that thing would come to this eventually. Teams fighting each other for an artifact despite the fact that there were plenty of other artifacts for the other teams to get their hands on. Still, he watched as Shinji attacked the boy of another team and understood that this wasn't his fight.

As the boy prepared to kick, David smirked and let go of his staff, spinning to the side rather suddenly, as well as letting his gourd fall from his back, where it smashed on the ground, spilling sand everywhere. As he got to the boy's right side, he held up both hands as his sleeves suddenly began to spew sand, one forming into a tentacle like form as it lunged to grab the other boy around the neck. "I'm plenty strong enough, this is just convenient." The boy said with a smile, the tentacle of sand growing from his other arm lunging for the boy's outstretched foot. He hadn't wanted to show these abilities so soon, but this seemed like an opponent that he couldn't simply hold back against. Hopefully Zin was quick enough, both mind and body, to grab the artifact while he distracted the genin, because this boy seemed different than most. And it wasn't just because he had been smashing boulders with a sword that David thought that.

"There is no doubt about that, Sand Ninja," Vincent spoke to the ninja whom Vincent had seen by both his forehead protector and the fact that he was using sand jutsus that he was from Sunagakure. "Still, as far as this exam goes, there doesn't seem to be a need for us to fight each other as there are plenty of artifacts to find."

Konaga Shinji

Though not so surprised that the boy would try to dodge his kick, Shinji was shocked that he would fully release his weapon. This however is probably only due to the fact that Shinji would never yield his weapon to anyone, but as it was, when his augmented strike went unused, the chakra fizzled away, granting him an immense flood of pain through his leg. This time however, since he was in combat, Shinji was easily able to redirect the pain, embracing it in an almost sadistic pleasure and used the feeling to spur him on.

Just as the gourd had fallen to the ground and crashed, releasing mounds of sand, Shinji had removed the medallion from the staff, but spun around as well, catching the staff in his right hand. Placing the medallion around his neck, Shinji twirled the staff around several times, handling it like an expert as it spun in fast circles to his side, before resting in both his hands, one end directly pointed at the sand nin. "Let's hope there's something to this weapon just as there would be to Forza. I can't be the only one around with a customized blade." In a bout of pure experimentation Shinji quickly surge his chakra into the staff in his hand, not even realizing the amount he had pushed into it before two chakra blades formed off either end of the pole, each one about a foot long, crackling with his silverish chakra as it was menacingly pointed at the boy.

Shinji's eyes squinted slightly as a wide smirked wiped over his face at discovering a secret within the boy's weapon and his face mocked the other ninja's foolishness for allowing him to gain control of such a weapon. Little time was left however for a mocking tone as the boy's sand seemed to be part of an elaborate attack or jutsu which he could apparently manipulate at will. Not knowing exactly what to do to defend against such a thing, Shinji quickly spun the pole in a circle, expertly batting away the first sand tentacle which aimed for his neck, the silver chakra blade cutting through and dispersing it in a puff of sand as Shinji jumped away in a perfectly coordinated backwards flip down onto a boulder in an attempt to dodge the other tentacle. However, the tentacle of sand seemed to follow him, making it's attack while he was in mid air. Shinji however would not be caught off guard as he twisted in the air, spinning the opposite end of the weapon around as the chakra blade cut through and destroyed the sand tentacle once more, dispersing it.

Finishing his decent into the mud river he had created. Shinji landed on a boulder which jutted out of the middle of it and spun the blade around again for play, sticking the blade into the rock, which seemed to leave an impressive gash in it, as the chakra blade passed through the stone like it was butter."Interesting abilities you have there... and an interesting staff too. However, the artifact is mine... I suggest you give up this fight and leave to your next destination. This doesn't need to get any more serious then it is, and I would personally feel bad if I beat you beyond the point where you would be able to continue on with these exams. There are plenty more artifacts for you to obtain. I suggest you spent your time and energy on locating them yourself rather then trying to steal them from others."

David scowled as the boy escaped, and with his staff to boot. This was not going well at all. Letting even more sand fall off of him, actually creating a mound where he stood from the sheer mass he had been carrying, the boy vanished. He had been so weighed down by his sand, that he had forgotten the speeds at which he could normally move, and seemingly, had become even faster for it. As he reappeared, he was standing against one wall of the dojo, propped up against it as if he was kneeling on the vertical surface thanks to the momentum with which he hit it. An instant later he was gone again, reappearing directly in front of the Iwa boy, one hand on the staff, and the other slamming forward for a punch to the boy's gut. "Give it back!" The boy yelled, angry that someone else would use his weapon before even he got the chance to try it out.

Shinji had not expected the reaction that he got as he saw the boy suddenly explode with speed that he had not shown before. Carrying all of that weight with the gourd and all that sand however was probably weighing him down the whole time. Being fairly speed himself, Shinji was at least able to partially track the boys movement, but as he saw him appear on the wall, in front of him, Shinji suddenly had a grave thought enter his mind as to what would come next. Not wanting to hurt the boy seriously, Shinji released the chakra in the staff, surprised to see that the chakra which was used to create the blades actually flowed back into him.

This however carried a strange effect as there was nowhere for the energy to go. Being a Konaga, his cells were already constantly and forever replenished with chakra... his people in essence being eternal wells of it. So, as his chakra attempted to re-enter, it had nowhere to go as it suddenly paralyzed his wrist. the feeling was so strange that Shinji himself was somewhat paralyzed by it as an intense pain entered his arm in rejection of his own chakra, forcing him to spastically release the pole just as the child had placed his own hand on it. Before Shinji could even move his arm again, the sand nin's fist was in his gut, and with the physics of the boy's movement, Shinji was easily knocked off the boulder, sending him flying backward through the air, striking the ground harshly as he felt several sharp pains ripple through his body in the way of rocky stones striking his back.

His decent ending in a slide near his teammates, Shinji struggled to get up against the pain of it all, but did so anyway... his body having been trained to deal with and push through pain far beyond what even the toughest of ninja could sustain. as he did however, his right arm still seemed to be partially paralyzed. Anger in his eyes now instead of sadistic glee, Shinji stared down the young ninja as he fought through yet another agonizing wave of pain... this one practically taking over his mind as he could only stare forward, the pain almost manifesting itself in the evil stare he gave to the boy. "FINE! You can have it! If you hadn't been so careless you wouldn't have lost it in the first place!"

Shinji's words held a bitter venom behind them as his arm hung limply at his side, his legs bent, but holding him up as he panted slightly after the battle. His body had taken a lot of damage, more then he had registered and as such he was struggling to have it move the way he wanted to. "Just hope I don't take it from you again in Stage Three! Next time, I'll impale you with it!"
