Takara listened as he went by. Then she silently slipped from the room and went to the kitchen. She looked around until she found a large knife. Then she crept back down the hall way.

Prospekt rolled over in his bed. He drifted in and out of sleep. The moonlight outside shone directly into his room illuminating it more so than others. He pulled the covers up farther.

Takara walked back to her room and sat where she had been before. She kept the knife within easy reach as she closed her eyes and leaned back against the wall. She slept, lightly.

Prospekt's eyes blinked open as a ray of sunlight passed through his curtains. He got up slowly and dressed. He looked out his window at the field of tomato plants. They would be ripe soon. He exited his room and walked to the kitchen. He began to cook tarts, for breakfast.

Takara jumped awake and grabbed the knife when he walked by. She was tense for a few minutes, then she put the knife down and stood up. She quietly exited the room.

Prospekt wrapped the dough around cherry paste. He picked the pan up and placed it in a small brick oven. The scent of cooking soon spread throughout the house.

Takara walked to the kitchen and watched him cook. She didn't think she could leave here.

Prospekt hadn't noticed that Takara had woken. He opened the oven and retrieved the pan. Two hot cherry tarts were laying on top of it, crispy and a little burned, but otherwise well cooked. He sat the pan on a cloth to protect the counter. He turned around and noticed that Takara was standing behind him. He jumped a little, then said "Takara! I didn't know you where there." He motioned to the food behind him. "I baked some tarts if you want breakfast, but be careful, they're still really hot."

Prospekt smiled at Takara's seeming cooperation. He stepped towards her. "Well, I need to tend to the animals. Can I get by?" he said gesturing at the small space that he would have to slip through to get by her.

Takara quickly stepped to the side and out of his way.

Prospekt smiled and nodded in thanks. He walked by Takara. He pulled gloves from his pouches and began putting them on. He stopped. "Takara. Feel free to stay as long as you want." he said turning his head to look at her, "And please, dont be scared of me anymore." With that he continued to the door, where he began to put on his boots.

Takara watched him leave and then ran forward to get the food she had been left. She quickly gobbled it down.

Prospekt walked to the barnyard. The four cattle roamed about eating the grass. A sheep followed behind them, eating the cut grass, its coat was almost ready to be sheared. Prospekt hopped the fence to be greeted by his horse. He brushed him, sitting on the fence to relax.

Takara then walked outside and watched Prospekt work. She wasn't sure what she should do now.
