Anita smiled. "You're a smart one," she admitted to Lauren. Chris scoffed. His sister didn't give compliments a lot. In fact, he'd never heard her give one until now.
Anita turned on Chris. With the flat side of her blade, she knocked him down, but he ducked under and headed for Lauren, and, knife glinting in the torchlight, thrust it forward.

Susan frowned at the in her definition "mayhem". She pressed her back against a wall, but made no moves to attack. She had never trained with weapons, in fact she had refused to. The only thing she had a shot at was defensive.

Lauren darted to one side, the knife coming so close it ripped her jacket. She frowned and launched a couterattack, her knife blade aiming for his hand.

Chris blocked the blade, and a loud ringing noise echoed in the arena. The impact made his arm twist at an awkward angle, and the tip of the knife grazed his elbow slightly. Luckily, it had just been a touch.
Anita had near forgotten about the other girl. Susan was her name, right? She headed toward her, sword held out in front of her.

"Oh shoot.." Susan frowned, watching Anita come towards her. As Anita drew nearer, Susan started to project the drowsyness at Anita. "Maybe if I can just Cloud Anita's mind, I might have a chance at dodging her attacks." She didn't want to have to resort to suggestive mind control. Not for something like battle practice. But still, that sword didn't even have a sheath on..

Anita felt grogginess pressing in on her like fog, but tried to resist. She remembered a monster she and Chris had run into when they had known nothing about Camp Half-blood, that had made them nearly fall asleep. Anita made sure not to make eye contact, even though she didn't know if it would strengthen Susan's powers, and continued to head forward with the sword. She was used to doing extreme things while she was half asleep, since Chris had always woken her up during the middle of the night for one of his stupid experiments.

Susan grit her teeth as Anita come foward with slowing. She considered mind control for another brief moment but refused. She dodged to one side, but she wasn't fast enough. The sword cut her in the side, a little deeper then necessary. She winced and skidded to another corner while clutching her side. "Really wish they had put on the sheaths right about now."

Lauren saw Anita advancing on Susan, and her first instinct was to defend her. But, she thought to herself, this is only practice. Susan has to do this herself. Cr*p. Does Susan even have a blade? I can give her my styngian iron.... it can't hurt non-monsters, but it can block celestial bronze... No, she decided. If I threw it, Susan probably wouldnt catch it. She re-focused on the advancing Chris. Stepping back, Lauren seemed to melt into the shadows. Knowing she vas invisible for the time being, at least while she stayed in a shadow, she stepped around the areana and into chris' shadow. Abandoning the power, she re-appeared and jumped onto his back.

Anita hadn't meant for her blade to cut Susan. But how am I supposed to control myself when I'm falling asleep? she thought crossly. Instead, she asked worriedly, "Are you okay?" She really wouldn't say that Susan was okay.
"What the--" Chris felt Lauren's weight on his back and shook her off, staggering to one side. He heard the thud as she hit the ground. How had she just disappeared from one spot and reappeared at another?

Lauren groaned. Chris was very tall, and so was the fall from his back. Plus, using her power had drained some of her energy. Flipping back onto her feet, she faced chris again, blade at the ready.

Chris had no idea what to do now. He did the only thing he could think of: Chris started circling Lauren.

"I'm fine" she said panting. She needed space. Looking over at Chris and Lauren, she frowned she had an idea but she wasn't happy about it. Judging from how Chris and Anita acted around each other, they probably weren't the closest friends. For suggestive mind control to have a higher chance of working, it had to be a at least a belivable suggestion. She grit her teeth again, having second thoughts, but she choose to go through with it. "I'm so sorry.." She thought to Chris even though he wouldn't hear it. Still clutching her side, she put the other hand against her temple and closed her eyes. She needed more concentration for this to work. Picturing Chris's face she sent the thought to him. "Forget about Lauren, This is your chance. Get Anita."

Lauren was unsure what to do now. She could compensate for Chris' movements by turning to face him, but that would leave her back exposed to Anita. She shifted slightly so that her armourless side wasnt facing chris, but she didnt have her back completely towards Anita.

Chris could already tell that Susan was using her powers, although he couldn't resist her magic. Even though Susan was telling him to "get Anita," he could do that and talk to Susan. "I thought this was battle practice," he complained.

Lauren saw Chris turn towards Anita. Sighing, she looked towards Susan. This was supposed to be about weapons skills.... she frowned. Powers were great, but still... On the other hand, Chris leaving meant that she had the opportunity to attack. Drawing the styngian iron for additional blocking, she lunged for Anita, making a mental not to have both blades melted down and reformed into two knives that were half iron and half bronze.
