Since his new teenhood and receiving news about what his brother had done, River had taken to hanging out in open places. Something about being cooped up in his dorm room just made everything feel worse. Eno had forced him to return to the dorms after while, once he had become more stable.
So River was sitting on one of the couches in the commons area, not really doing anything. The news of Zahur's rampage still baffled him. He had a sort of zoned out look on his face, eyes not really focused on the wall on the other side of the room that he was facing. He hadn't yet visited or spoken to Zahur, thoughts of how to go about doing that filled his head most of the time.

Bored was not an emotion that Nadia was very fond of, though it was one of the ones she felt more acutely then most. She'd tired of practicing her dance moves and the thought of hanging out around most of her siblings seemed tiresome as well. Hanging out with Edmund might not be so bad but he was likely covered in dirt and in the garden. Nadia had no interest in getting her clothes dirty at all either. They weren't anything too terribly special, just a cropped purple top that showed off a bit of stomach and a pair of brownish shorts since it was hot and she wasn't out to impress anyone at the moment. Both the top and the shorts were tight fitting and showed off her new teen curves wonderfully if anyone cared to look though.
The most potentially interesting thing Nadia could think to do was wander around a bit and maybe hang out in the common room. That seemed the most likely way to meet new people really, and if her brother and his two friend were on the couches then she'd just have to squish her boredom by teasing Gavin's friends a bit.
As she rounded the corner she saw that her brother and his friends were not there, but instead a dark skinned boy with white curly hair that reminded Nadia of a cloud. She remembered that he had been at Cial's party and that his name was River but they both grown into a teen since she saw him last. He seemed a bit out of it, staring straight at the wall totally zoned out. Even with his zoned out expression Nadia thought he looked attractive, that hair just seemed like it would be fun to run her fingers through.
She padded her way over softly in the bronze colored flats she was wearing and hung over the edge of the couch behind him.
"Anything interesting on that wall over there?" Her voice came out with a soft teasing tone and close to his ear. She smelled of patchouli, oranges, and spices though whether it was due to perfume or some scent that she was producing with her powers she would never tell.

River was so lost in his train of deep thought that he never noticed Nadia entering the room. He didn't even notice her leaning over the back of the couch until she was speaking rather closely into one of his ears. The teen stiffened, resisting the impulse to jump up.
The skin over his cheeks darkened with embarrassment. Had he really been that zoned out? He turned his head enough to see Nadia out of the corner of his eye, a small, nervous smile on his face.
"N-not really, no. It's a rather boring wall, actually..." The reply was a little hesitant at first. Once he saw who it was that had come to interrupt his thoughts he calmed down... though he supposed the most wonderful scent coming off of her probably aided in that as well. He had always loved it when Eno had put on some incense and cuddled on the couch for some late night stories.
He shifted a little so that he could look at her better, propping one yellow pant-clad leg up on the couch so that he could lean back against the arm he was next to. "I don't think I know you, at least, not face to face." He remembered seeing her around, though she was younger when they happened to be in the same room. He had been younger as well. Perhaps Metas grew in groups? Zahur had grown after his rampage as well. After realizing he'd said something rather awkward and hadn't followed it up with introducing himself, the darkened look returned to his face. "I-I'm River, by the way."

An almost musical and slightly breathy chuckle escaped Nadia's lips at how cutely awkward River was being. He was even blushing too, it was really just too adorable. She placed a hand on an exposed hip and gazed at him.
"Hello River. I thought I remembered that being your name. My sister once mentioned a boy with hair that made her think of a sheep, I thought it must be you. I'm Nadia by the by if you'd never come across my name." She resumed leaning over the back of the couch as she spoke to River flashing a bit of cleavage mostly unintentionally as she did. Sometimes she realized doing things that others would call seductive came naturally to her without thinking on it.
"Well at any rate I'm flattered that you find me more interesting then the wall. Though I didn't interrupt any important thoughts did I? You looked like you might be having a few." She found herself wondering what had been going on under all that fluffy hair.

He had to admit, she had a nice laugh. And... wow. He blanked for a moment, eyes darting to the floor as she leaned down again. That.. that.. his brain was having issues forming coherent thoughts.
"O-oh, yes... that's me all right." He attempted a laugh, though it sounded mostly forced and quite awkward. "No, I don't believe I ever learned your name, j-just saw you at some events." He shrugged a bit and finally looked back up, trying to focus just on her eyes. That way he wouldn't accidentally look anywhere embarrassing. "Um.. kind of, but it's not something I think I should be lingering on, I mean... negative thoughts aren't the best, right? Think happy is what they always say, huh?" The reminder of his previous train of thought brought a most saddened look to his face but it only lasted for a few seconds before it was forcibly replaced with a smile.
"What uh...brings you to the commons, if you don't mind me asking?"

The avoiding staring at her chest was not lost on Nadia and she had to force herself not to let out another chuckle. She unleaned and came around to sit next to River on the couch. River looked unhappy, and even his smile seemed forced. Nadia thought that maybe it was up to her to properly distract him.
"Hmm yes I suppose that is what some people say. I usually try to find things to distract myself if I get some upsetting thoughts. But I came to the commons just because I was bored, I figured there might be someone here I could talk to." She shrugged a bit gracefully. "And so there was. I lucked out that it was someone cute." She gave River a flirtatious smile. Maybe they could help distract each other.

"I wish it were that easy," he shook his head a bit. Normally a simple distraction would work, but not for this. This was a little too heavy for that. His cheeks darkened again at the mention of 'someone cute,' and he let out a small laugh. "Hahaa, I guess that makes both of us lucky?" Well, he supposed that 'cute' probably wasn't the word he would use to describe Nadia... she was more...
He interrupted that train of though, blinking a few times as if that would help. "S-so um.. how long have you been in the dorms?" He figured that would... be a sufficient topic. He had to admit that Nadia was rather good at being distracting even when she wasn't talking.

At the 'I guess we're both lucky?' comment Nadia's lips curled into an amused smile. The smile continued to grace her lips until she opened her mouth to speak.
"Oh, I've been around them for a little while. I moved in when I became a child." Nadia straightened up from leaning over the couch and began walking around it so she could sit down. She kept her walk lightly swaying and settled down into her seat with a dancer's grace. Turning slightly so she could face River better Nadia pulled one leg up, mirroring River, and tucked the other half under it. "My Mother had all my siblings do that as well. So we can make more friends of our own kind I suppose, though I usually go home on the weekends. What about you? Been around here long?"

River could not help but note how smoothly she moved... it was really quite hypnotic. He blinked a few times and shook his head. "Sort of, but my dad is pretty protective so even though I got a room I spent most nights back at home, 'til I grew. I'm probably going to move back in with him though." He shrugged a little.
His poor father would probably need someone to look after him after what happened with Zahur...

"Oh I see..." Nadia nodded a bit as she listened and brought one hand up to play with her hair a bit. She let her fingers catch in one of the curls and began twirling it and untwirling it around with her finger. She gave a bit of a sigh.
"That's a shame, teen years are best spent being left up to your own devices to get into trouble and make mistakes right?" She gave River a teasing wink. "Or that's how I would imagine, I haven't been one very long." She gave an elegant shrug.
"You should try to have some fun before you move back home..."

He grew a sort of sheepish grin on his face and nodded a little. "I guess, I haven't really done that yet, though." He shrugged and gave a small laugh. "I've been a teen for awhile but nothing's really come up to give me that opportunity." River nodded a little. "I guess I should, but uhh... people are pretty scarce around here lately. Not a soul to see. I'd be up for something if there were someone to do it with, you know? No fun all alone."

At that Nadia's smile broadened playfully and she leaned forward slightly, sliding her hands around to clasp her knee.
"That won't do at all. You'll have to do something now that there are more teens around. I know at the least my brother is planning some kind of party with his friend. You should try to come to that, knowing him it should be a good time. Otherwise... you and I could always do something..." She trailed off meaningfully with a flirtatious smile. It was a mystery to her how River would react to such an open ended invitation but she was dead curious to find out.

River's cheeks darkened again, and he blinked a few times. "Oh, uh... well if I'd be w-welcome I'd come.. hate to drop in uninvited... that'd be rude." He fidgeted a little, wings shuffling their position before folding back up against his back. "But um... I'd be up for something, if you wanted to do...something..."
River mentally kicked himself. Smooth move there, bro.

A pleased chuckle spilled from Nadia's lips. That little blush on River's face was just completely adorable. She softened her smile a bit so he didn't think she was making fun of him.
"Of course you'd be welcome. I'm inviting you after all. Gavin will be happy to have more people there and if he's not.... well he'll just have to deal with it because I'd like to see you there." She tossed her hair a bit. "I'd love to do.... something... sometime. I could give you my number if you wanted." She suggested helpfully, maybe River just needed the right nudge.

Welp, her chuckle just made his face darken even more. He offered up a twitchy smile and nodded. "I s-suppose that's a pretty good reason to uhh... not mind me there?" He shrugged a little.
"Oh uh... s-sure..." He dug out his phone from his pants pocket. "Umm, I only get a certain amount of uhh... texts or minutes a month but I don't really use them so I guess that uhh... doesn't matter." River rubbed at his head with one hand, making his already fluffy head even more fluffy.
