As she passed, she allowed her tail to trail against his side before flicking to the other as she moved out of reach. Eyes set forward, she walked until the small embankment of the stream shifted on her paws and without hesitancy she walked down into the water. Immediately blood pooled and drifted down with the current, shifting to her hind legs in the water so she could wade in till she was waist deep and took the kitling into her paws.
Dipping the small body into the river, she washed the blood and saliva off from the wolves and closed its eyes. Staring for a few moments, she lowered it under and spoke softly, "Sinussa maailman kauneus, josta kuolema teki minusta taiteilijan. Luojani, luoksesi anna minun tulla siksi miksi lapseni minua luulee..." ** Opening her hands, she let the small corpse drift away with the current before dragging her body back onto the shore where she sat down still in the water; rubbing some of the blood from her fur quietly.
**In you is the beauty of the world, of which death made me an artist. My Lord, to you, let me become what my child thinks I am.

He let the tail whisk over him, and knowing she was out of sight, he crawled over to where he saw the cubs flee from the earlier snarling demoness. With his keen eyes he quickly spotted them in the bushes, cowering and appearing rather lost.
Although a warrior by heart, he was still a father....lord knows how many sangheili he had sired back on his home world, but never had he the opportunity to care for them. Even in his current place and time, his children had grown and had no longer needed him. He never liked not being needed.
Letting out a purring like growl, he slowly got to the ground and hoped he could coax the cubs out, immediately deciding that he would watch over them until their mother returned...if..they had one that was

As the feline vixen finally rubbed the last bits of the blood she could reach off; she turned her head to see no trace of Arbiter. Odd... She thought, as usually she'd pin him for keeping an observant eye or something. Rising to her paws she quietly loped back to where she'd left the kits and Ripa; only to draw her ears back at what she was seeing.
Seeing the large creature even bigger than Corosina, the little cubs seemed to shy back from their earlier adventure out into the open...but once he'd gotten to lay down the remaining boy decided to slowly edge out, followed by his sister. Mewing gently, as if to test the grounds; they were unaware of the tigress' watchful eyes as they slipped between the alien's large paws to cuddle into his chest for protection. Giving small calls to their fallen sibling in belief he was still around and would come back; too little to understand fully.
What the... Corosina thought, never pegging Ripa to be a family man; which gave her such a horrible feeling in her stomach. Never had the instinct to flee been so strong as it was in that moment, but for the time being her feet were as heavy and rooted as cement to the ground.

He spotted the tigress approach from a far, but at the moment was focused solely on the two remaining cubs. Although not having a tongue, he was capable of combing the little kits' fur with his needle teeth, gently of course. Why should they feel uncomfortable for the time being.
After a short amount of work on the stubble haired kittens, he lifted his head and looked at Corosina, sensing the gears in her head turning. He could only stare at her with a half raised eyebrow. He wasn't questioning, or concerned, but rather only a little confused. Will she run, or will she stay? he wondered to himself as he blinked a few times.
"Something the matter? You seem.....torn"

Jumping in a mild surprise as she was soon met with his gaze, cursing herself for being so preoccupied to obviously not remain as stealthy as she would have liked. She couldn't run now, not when he was staring right at her. Perking her slender ears at his voice, they only slid right back down as her eyes immediately met with the green grass at her paws. Damnit....he sure does know how to hit the nail right on the head. She thought with a sense of bitterness as she slowly made her way into the clearing and stood a few paces away from him and the cubs.
There was no use in lying, he seemed to be well aware of her body language. "Shredded, to be precise. Being torn was something of my past life." She spoke softly, as if not to upset the cubs with her tone of voice once more.
Purring deeply at the gentle combing of the teeth, the little cubs seemed to enjoy the affections and tried to groom Arbiter when the little tongues ran across his suit. Looking confused, the little femme mewed while the brother had decided to try and gnaw the suit off as if it was some unacceptable substance.

Not being terribly accepting of the gnawing action on his suit he snorted in a form of warning. He offered one of his paws instead as apart from his head, it was the only thing that went uncovered.
"Shredded then? Why so if I may ask?" he inquired, even though right from the beginning, he had a clue as to what it was that she was confused about. But he liked to play mind games too, so watching her flounder in his questions was a bit amusing to him, despite how cruel they could be at times

Cowering down at the snort, the two cubs immediately stopped what they were doing. At the offering of his paw, however they seemed to take an immediate curiosity as they sniffed and pawed at the strange rough skin.
Corosina frowned, her pupils narrowing. Nosey pest, she should have left as she did with so many....if he wasn't such a good lay...
"Many things, Ripa. Ones which do not concern you at this time and place....but I do not make a habit of being around in the morning if you've gathered that much. Just like I dare not hang around these cubs...but I feel bound to them." Already the gears were working in their disfavor the longer she lingered; as was evident by the dead cub heading into its final resting place.

ignoring the sniffing the cubs decided to do, which tickled him a little, his attention was focused far to much on her. He couldn't help but let a glare slip by, but one more of scrutiny
"I have, but I wonder. If you are prone to leaving those you lay with, then why have you not left me? I'm not holding you against your will" he examined. He was unsure of a good answer at this point, he he had many theories. Mostly pointing to how 'experienced' he was, but he was sure there had to be something else that he couldn't see

"....Who do you think you are Ripa..." Corosina hissed out of confusion, beginning to pace back and forth as if fighting an endless war between her instinct and her logic. Both had such compelling arguments. "How do you get through when so many have failed, where no one sees let alone understands!" It was frustrating, and refreshing at the same time.
He brought up more questions than just one ones he spoke of, that was for sure.
"I don't know. I have been trying to figure this out all morning...." Finally dropping to her haunches as she grumbled incoherently, even now, she couldn't leave. "Perhaps...it is because being with you reminds me of happier times, from before." And well, coupled with other key factors.

" I don't pretend to be something I'm not..at least I try not to. You on the other hand, you pretend to be a predator, when I find it obvious that you don't want to be." he raised an inquiring eyebrow. He had a gut feeling that she wasn't a creature who just hungered for more power. At least not without reason. He wasn't going to pry into her past as he could tell it was bothersome, but if she was willing to share, he was willing to listen

"Pretend?" Her voice rumbled in a low growl, never one for full blown anger it simply was trailed in with her frustrations. "Never do I need to pretend I don't have to need it, because I always do. In how I get it, yeah....not everyone is so willing at first; and certainly aren't plagued to never be satisfied. Would I continue this path if I had the choice? No. I would give anything to get back to the roots....yet it shall not happen." She didn't need to pretend any more than she had to, no mask she could wear would cover that illusion if she created it.
Flicking her tail on the ground, her ears remained nestled against the ivory of her hair. "Short of heading back to the spirit world, its just day after day here. I have no ties here, that is...until their mother decided to pick a fight when I was having a bad day." She glanced to the two little cubs once more; wondering if they had any idea she wasn't coming back.

Listening to her plight, he remained utterly silent, but continued to give a raised eyebrow look, which soon faded away when he learned the true fate of the little cub's mother, and even who is responsible.
He couldn't say he had reason to attach to them, or her, or for that matter anything at all. But he had felt the effects of all three in his life at one point. His mother being murdered by another who was seemingly having a bad day, and he himself had done the same thing to countless of others, and that wasn't counting the humans he killed as well. He still remained silent and his gaze skeptical

Corosina didn't appreciate that look of his, his silence didn't go unnoticed either as she was almost willing to tell him to speak just so she could have a clue what he was thinking. None the less, he didn't seem to believe her.
She couldn't believe what she was going to do.
"When I was alive, I had kittens with someone who was not my betrothed, because I believed he was....what are they called here......Soul...mate? When word got out, they were killed, and he didn't stop them; and then it was my turn. Since resurrection is when that curse had come to be, which is why I did not notice those cubs when she was protecting her land...and why I leave everyone. Believe what you will, Ripa."
With that, the demoness turned and moved back to the edge of the clearing where she lowered her body to flop down on the grass. Turned away from the small group she rested her head on her paws and allowed her ears to slide back along her skull.

Again, he said nothing more. His look changed only away from a skeptical on to one of more seriousness. Was it good to for her to be saying this? He didn't know but it left a lot of unanswered questions that he felt was not the time to ask.
He looked to the cubs, finding they had nestled into his broad chest and arms and decided it was nap time. Not wanting to disturb them he stayed put, giving one last harsh glare to the demoness.
"Then leave." he said knowing full well that's just what she wanted to do. He didn't tell her that she HAD to stay with him forever just because they slept with each other. He could almost care less at this point. Just another meaningless fling. At least that's how she was treating it

Lowering her tone as her ears could pick up the soft breathing of the cubs who had probably fallen asleep, she didn't move as her own chest rose and fell gently. By all means, she should have been elated that she had gotten the order to go....but she had no desire to go anywhere. As she had said earlier, it wasn't the fact she hadn't left which was confusing; it was the question of exactly what was making her stay...since it wasn't Ripa.
"Is that an order, or a suggestion?"
Lifting her head, she looked over shoulder and couldn't help but give a soft smile at the cubs; it almost gave Ripa a whole new light with them snuggling against the large beast like that. "Because I have no desire to leave till I figure you out, so you might just be stuck with me."
