(Yeah, everything turned out just fine. Now I just have to distinguish between real and imaginary. razz )
Kiba's eyes suddenly went blank as he continued to stare at the picture. "You wouldn't want me as a brother." The young man said. "My mother didn't even want me as her son." He sighed, ruffling Nozomi's blonde locks between his fingers. "But you would make a great brother, I'm sure. And your mother would have been a great woman as well." Kiba whispered quietly, smiling lightly.
A sudden knock at the door made him pull away immediately from the younger boy. "Visiting hours are over for today." He called out. No reply. It obviously wasn't another nurse. The young man looked through the peep-hole at the top of the door. The two men from the park were on the other side. Immediately, Kiba walked over to Nozomi's bed and hit the nurse call button. "Shana, this is Kiba. Please remove the two visitors outside Nozomi's door." The green haired man whispered quietly.

(Well, good luck with that, then.)
Nozomi heard a knock from the door, and it was obvious that Kiba knew as well. According to his reaction, whoever was out there wasn't a part of the hospital nor a friend. Nozomi stared at the door, expecting it to open at any time. Apparently, as he heard Kiba's request to an employee named Shana, there were two people waiting outside. He grew worried, wondering if they were after Kiba.
Despite the worry, Nozomi didn't write any question down. He just kept staring at the door and expecting it to open or another knock. If those people dared to barge in, then what woudl happen? Would they take Kiba away? Would they try to kill him? What did they want with him?

(Thanks.)
Kiba waited for a long time, peering out of the peep-hole in the door. The two men didn't barge in, but kept on talking. As if, planning on what to do? Finally, the young man noticed the security guards, along with head nurse Shana, coming down the hallway. Soon, they had disappeared from the door. That's when Kiba opened it and smiled.
"Thanks, Shana." He smiled kindly. The young woman smiled back and headed back towards the front of the building. "Nozomi, are you okay?" Kiba asked, closing the door and sitting down next to the younger boy again.

I don't know, Nozomi replied. I'm okay, physically, but I'm a little scared. Who were those people outside? Were they after you? Before he knew it, those questions had already been scribbled onto the paper. He was already mentally kicking himself for asking such questions.
I'm sorry! Please disregard the questions if you don't want to answer them, he then wrote quickly. He just hoped that Kiba wasn't annoyed at the questions or anything. It would be terrible if he was, because it would be Nozomi's fault for asking them in the first place. Please don't be mad. I didn't know what I was writing until I finished.

"It's okay, I'm not mad." Kiba smiled quietly, wrapping his arms around the younger boy. "Those people were... men that scare me a lot." Kiba said quietly. "My mother sold me to them when I was little. They killed my little brother because..." The young man almost said the rest of his sentence, which would have been, 'because he was a mute.' But he wasn't sure how that would effect Nozomi.
"But yeah, I ran away from them. They're here to take me back." Kiba whispered, closing his eyes and he pulled the young blonde closer to him. "But I like being here with you, I don't want to go back."

I don't want you to go back there, either, Nozomi wrote, though it was a bit difficult considering that he was being hugged. He hadn't known that Kiba had gone through such a horrible life. It was no wonder that he was afraid of the people who were outside the door.
Nozomi then wondered about Kiba's brother. Why was he killed? Was he trying to rebel? Was there something wrong with him? Had the men just grown tired of him and wanted to get rid of him? None of those questions could be written down, because he didn't want to ask even more personal questions that he was sure shouldn't be spoken of. It was Kiba's decision whether or not he should tell.

Kiba smiled slightly and buried his head into the boy's neck. "Thanks. I feel wanted now." He laughed quietly. He could tell that the boy wanted to know more about his brother, and why he was killed, since Kiba did stop his sentence short. But Nozomi respected that Kiba didn't want to talk about it, and that was such a mature quality. The young man was sure that his brother would have been very much like Nozomi.
He thought back to that night, unconsciously. His brother had been dragged out of their room, the two men grunting since the younger boy had been struggling. The boy was trying to scream out, but he couldn't say anything. Kiba's own voice had been locked. Finally, with a gun to his back, the boy began to cry choked, muted sobs. The safety clicked, and the green haired boy closed his eyes. "Kiba!" A voice screamed. It so sweet, so innocent, then the shot went off. The living boy opened his eyes and looked up in shock, just to see his brother hit the floor. "And to think... he just found his voice on the brink of death." One of the men sneered.

Nozomi was aware of a thoughtful atmosphere and he stayed still, not wanting to bother Kiba. He was probably thinking about something from the past, so it wouldn't be right for Nozomi to ask about it. Once more Nozomi began to draw more pictures into his notepad, but his hand was drawing something a bit disturbing. Immediately, he scribbled it out, getting frightened.
The picture had been of Nozomi and Kiba, but they were being separated. Two men were holding Kiba by the arms and dragging him away, and Nozomi, who wanted to chase after them, was being held back by people who had forbidden him from leaving the hospital. He was afraid of it happening, so he crumpled up the paper and threw it away, hoping that it was just a picture.

Kiba saw the picture and clapped his hand over Nozomi's eyes. "I saw that... maybe you should take a break." He muttered quietly into the younger boy's ear. "You hungry? I'll go get some food." Kiba said quietly, taking his hand off of Nozomi's eyes.

Nozomi nodded, still a little scared. On a new piece of paper, he began to write another note. I'm sorry. I don't know what I was thinking, he wrote. I guess I'm still scared of being alone. He tried to smile, but fear was already evident all over his eyes.
He didn't want to write anything more, because his hand was already shaking. He couldn't believe that he had drawn such a horrible thing. What was going on? Was he actually hoping for that to happen? Impossible!

Kiba looked thoughtfully at the younger boy, then smiled and nodded his head. "Yeah, being alone really sucks, I know. But honestly, I believe that your Mother never left you in spirit. She's here now, watching over you. I believe that." The young man said quietly, wishing that maybe his own brother was watching over him.
"And you know what? I'll never leave you, too." Kiba smiled a small smile, lightly kissing Nozomi on the top of his head. "Sorry if that was too much." The young man said quietly, patting the blonde's head.

Nozomi blushed a little, not knowing why Kiba had kissed him. Sure, it was only on his head, but it was still a kiss nonetheless. It seemed a bit strange to him, even though Mother had done the same thing so many times.
It's okay, Nozomi wrote. It's not like I haven't been kissed on the head before. He was still blushing, however, because Kiba was actually the only person other than Mother to kiss him. Why in the world was he making such a big deal about it? It wasn't anything and it wasn't like the volunteer had any attraction to him.

"Well, aren't you a lucky goose." The young man smiled, ruffling the blonde's hair. "I never get a kiss. Not once in my entire life." He smiled sadly, looking out the window. He may have had once or twice from his mother... but that would have been long ago when he was little.
Then Kiba noticed Nozomi blushing, and he smirked, kissing the younger boy again. "Nozomi... why are you blushing? I'm a guy, not a girl. Save the rosy color for them, okay?" The volunteer said quietly, poking the younger boy's cheeks lightly.

It's just a reaction! Nozomi wrote quickly and in shaky writing. It wasn't expected, that's all. He only blushed deeper, however, and he tried to hide it with his hands. How could he be blushing? He didn't think of Kiba as any important person other than a friend. They were only friends and nothing more!
Unfortunately, his heart thought differently. It began to ache and he didn't understand why. He had only known Kiba for one day. How could it be that his heart hurt now? If it should hurt for anyone, then why wouldn't it hurt for Mother when she died? It would only make sense if it ached for her.

Kiba just smiled, pulling Nozomi closer to him. "It's okay, I'm just messin' with ya'." He smirked, looking out the window thoughtfully. Nozomi was just the person he was volunteering to take care of. That is, until he got a real job. Which was highly unexpected, since most people can't get a decent job unless they have a college degree. Something that Kiba did not have.
