"Oh god... they're drinking... Miss Jinx, please save me," Alcharius mumbled from the log, ignored by Throngar, who had unthinkingly taken his own hip flask of ale upon seeing Gorum take his whiskey and was now starting to drink it in between sentences.
"No, we're not," the dwarf Mage agreed with his brother. "Which is why I still don't know why I let you drag me away on this insane quest." He rolled his eyes. "Oh right, I remember now. It sounded more appealing at the time than appearing as a witness in court." He glowered. "At the time."

Jinx turned back around when she noticed that Alcharius was talking to her. She walked over to the hat and picked it up, "What do I get out of it?" She asked.

"Eh," Jinx replied uncouthly "Why would it? I mean It's not physically here, I can't touch it or spend it." She grinned evilly, hoping that if she was mean to the hat, it would know how she felt and would stop.

Alcharius scrunched up a bit; he might well have been glaring at Jinx. Then he went limp and gave a sigh. "Fine, fine," he told her, still in a low tone of voice. "How does the Jewel of Niadis sound to you? I can tell you how to get it. Just get me away from these two before they start brawling with one another!"

"A magical artefact of the greatest and most ancient power," Alcharius told her in a grand and mysterious tone. "More importantly for you, I expect, there a lot of people who'd be quite willing to pay very, very good money for it, if you know where to look. So how about it? Does this get me my ticket out of here?" His voice took on a plaintive note at the end.

Behind them, Throngar and Gorum's conversation sounded like it was getting more animated with the drink. Alcharius gave a bit of a shudder, then answered hurriedly, "It was made centuries ago, millennia even, by a very powerful sorcery in the early days of the Gaian race. Its powers are many and varied; some have even suggested it can be used as a Philosopher's Stone. You must know what that does, surely?" He seemed to be getting rather agitated; he must have wanted to leave already.

"Yeah, yeah I have," Jinx thought for a moment, "Alright," She answered abruptly, "I'll help you." She smiled and placed Alcharius on her head.

"Excellent!" Alcharius declared in a pleased - but still hushed - tone. "Now, quick, away before those two notice I'm gone! We have to get to the continent of Silmar. To the city of Almar in particular."

Jinx backed up slowly, when she was out of view from the two dwarves, she ran until she got tired.

"Ah, away from them at last!" Alcharius rejoiced from Jinx's head once they were far enough from the encampment. "Thank you, thank you, thank you Miss Jinx. I don't think I'd have survived another one of their drinking sessions. Horrible affairs..." He shuddered on top of her.

Jinx stopped to catch her breath, "Yeah, yeah thank me later. It's a good thing that dwarves have short legs making them run slow." she giggled.
