Alex Treecko

Alex grinned. And it was done! "Come on, everyone, let's go back to the guild," he said, opening the door and passing through. He was positive he'd gotten good footage. This was great!

Client:
Rebirth
Mission:
"This place has long been known for its potential to both enhance and corrupt a Pokemon's power. We've noticed a sudden influx of travelers to this place with no explained reason. The one word we've been able to get out of these odd pilgrims is 'requiem,' no more, no less, and those who traveled there before have never come back. We need experienced Teams to investigate just what the cause of this phenomenon is, and act accordingly if you must."

"You idiot." The words lacked their usual affection. Normally such insults from Nigel were words of endearment. They were siblings afterall. What was blood without love to bind it? They did love eachother, they were the only family eachother had and so tolerance of the other was expected, but this time it seemed the Gardevoir had crossed a line though no response was offered as an excuse.
Nigel glowered over at the other Ralts line, his arms folded. The Gallade was not one to be trifled with, for his age he was built and tall and clearly the one in charge all things considered. His sibling was not quite so tall, but hardly weak-looking for all appearances. The Gardevoir seemed able to handle a battle just as easily as the Gallade though and both Pokemon bore the same gold coloring. Gold where their kind had green and both of them bore golden breast plates as well. They looked strikingly similar except one oddity that stood out. The Gardevoir had one red eye and one blue while the Gallade simple had two blue. Their eyes aside, the two differed entirely by personality. It seemed the dual type was far more aggressive than the pure Psychic and butting heads seemed to be a normal occurance between the duo, but this was a bit too far...this was pure rage coming off of Nigel and his tolerance seemed to thin gradually as the silence lingered.
Finally, annoyed to the point of speaking once more, the Gallade gave an audible growl. "We need to get it back. I can't...I can't believe you would LOSE it."
"I'm sorry." Came the softspoken reply. The Gardevoir's voice was a faint sound, barely rising over a whisper and difficult to place tone wise.
"Sorry doesn't bring it back. You did this, you fix it. I'm going to go punch some trees so I don't punch you. When I get back I expect a solution." As he spoke Nigel was already heading to the door and his sentence ended with a resounding slam as he stepped outside and closed it sharply behind him.
Two days later Nigel didn't return and it seemed that the Gardevoir had lost more than just a useless trinket.

"A treasured family heirloom has been stolen from our temple, and the culprit has fled in the direction of the Anomaly. If you should locate the thief and bring back our heirloom, we shall reward you accordingly." Fiorin lowered the paper with some scrutiny and extended it out to Harley, turned so she could read it as well.
The Mightyena's nose wriggled as she inwardly sounded out the words in her mind. Her reading was painstakingly slow and she had to take the time to sound out each and every syllable. Finally the jumbled pieces of letters came together to form the word properly. Mystic Portal.
"Hell yeah, that place only has Psychic type! Those suckers are all toast!" Her enthusiasm seemed forced, the Pikachu could tell she didn't want to go. Especially without Kit. As her new second in command it was his place to make sure the team ran smoothly and efficiently and that meant ensuring their health. Both body and mind. Harley was clearly not in the mind to do this mission. Fiorin was torn, did he want to say something and allow her to stay here and dwell or would actually getting out and doing something be better for her? In the end he settled on a subtle, "I think Evelyn, Alec, Aries and I can handle this if you'd rather just chill here. Whatever you'd prefer." He shrugged, making his comment as lightly as he could without trying to force her into it but when he turned back to meet her gaze he found the gratitude swimming in them and had to fake patience. She had taken his suggestion and clung to it as one would a floatation device in a storm. After a staring contest that lasted a good five minutes her head gave the most marginal of nods before she turned and swiftly slipped into her own room, tail curling to pull the door closed behind her.
Fiorin breathed a sigh of relief that was mixed with remorse. He hoped she'd be okay here alone. He considered leaving Aries here to at least amuse her, but the Skitty was a medic of physical injuries. He couldn't heal what ailed Harley. That, however, was a matter to be dealt with when they returned. Time alone would either help her or make her worse, but Fiorin really couldn't do anything about that at the moment. For now...the mission.
He clapped his paws, calling the team together. The younger ones would not be going and Cheshire was old enough to keep an eye on the others. She knew which team rooms to go to if they needed anything. Mist Melody and Stormcloud were close by and both run by kind Pokemon who wouldn't mind helping if the need arised but he doubted anything would happen.

From the day they were born the two had been inseperable. Twins. An anamoly in itself, made even stranger by the smaller of the two with those heterochromatic eyes. Life started off with despair, mother falling ill shortly after they had hatched from their single egg. She no sooner laid eyes on her children when death swept in and snatched her away. Left grieving, their father barely noticed he had infants to attend to and their care was left in the feeble hands of an aging nursemaid who answered simply to 'Lady'. While she doted and spoiled the twins as she would her own flesh and blood, their father locked himself in his study and his despair and rarely ever left either.
As Ralts their adventures were limited to the confines of the manor, but as they grew older and became Kirlia it extended outward to the family shrine. A majestic building, it was located a fair distance from the estate and made of pure marble. Inside it was the graves of their ancestors and extended family. The marker nearest the entrance was for their mother while next to it a blank stone was left in place for their father who, at the rate he was going, would surely follow as he withdrew even deeper into himself. The temple, as the mauseleum was called, was their hideaway.
For hours on end they would play tag amongst the dead, dance across the tops of the graves. Tired, they would lay before the stone that marked their mother's final resting place and whisper to eachother in a language only they spoke.
They were twins. Always two, always together. Fingers laced and steps synced with one another. They took turns playing the shadow, were rarely ever more than a few feet apart. They slept in the same bed, curled up together and hands clasped for fear of losing the other in their sleep.
Nothing else existed, nothing else mattered. So long as they had eachother the world would continue its casual spinning. They were odd, didn't seem interested in the affairs of others. Never spoke to anyone else. They stared at other Pokemon with blank, almost hollow, expressions.
Strangers would look and tell you they were lonely. So alone. No interaction with anyone, no friends to their names but what strangers didn't seem to get was that it was quite the opposite.
What must the rest of the world look like to them? To them it was always two. Two of them, two pairs of hands, two sets of eyes. What would Pokemon that came in singles look like to them? They must seem like halves to the twins. Everyone else was an amputee. Missing an important piece.
The twins looked upon everyone else with pity. How lonely they all must be. So alone. Afterall they were incomplete.
That was how life was it seemed, everyone was born alone and they spent their lives looking for their soul mates. Seeking the state of 'twiness'. Tormented by their incompleteness they strive to be a part of a pair.
So when one of them went missing, the other was left in that state of loss. By losing your other half, you became an amputee as well.

When the sky opened up Fiorin extended a paw outward instinctly. Storms never really bothered him, he was an electric type after all, but he never did like the way cold rain could chill you to the bone. This rain, however, wasn't freezing and so he withdrew his arm and turned to the trio behind him who each had uttered a protest of some sort in response to the downpour. Evelyn was none too pleased, fire types generally disliked getting wet in any manner, but she would need to get over it as the rain wasn't hurting her. The other two, Alec and Aries, were acting in the manner of their respective species. Alec shook like a dog, his sword rattling in its sheath from the motion while the Skitty wailed his displeasure and attempted to, to no avail, lick himself dry despite it still raining.
Fiorin is confused. It hurt itself in its confusion. Fiorin used facepalm.
Fiorin could have throttled the lot of them. Not even to their destination yet and they were whining like children.
