"You'll never understand me..." xxxxSayuri trailed mere steps behind Tares as they approached the place that had been so welcoming to Sayuri. For the first time in what felt like years, but really was mere days, Sayuri smiled. The grin that graced her perfectly symmetrical lips was shy and timid as she looked at K. The smell of fire and the smelting and soldering continuing ceaselessly throughout the day in the forge provided the strong odor of burning metal that was just barely chased away by the secluded countryside that the house was found in. She listened attentively, but warily, to K as he explained, and suppressed a groan when she heard what was going on. It was just her luck that, right before she was prepared to go and make progress in her career as a kunoichi, something like a zombie apocalypse would take place. However, when tares took the conversation in a completely unrelated direction, she snapped her eyes onto him and stared into his face,
“If you’d like. I believe that a quick rest before we continue would be good for both of us.” Her words were a bold faced lie. There were two reasons that she wanted to be in the Demascus House. One of them was standing right next to her, and the other was somewhere in the house, screeching her lungs out and dragging a stuffed bunny fondly named Mista Wabbit around by his ear. Mei."That's the whole point."

Uchiha Bloodline| Mist ANBU Captain| Jonin Commander|Bloody Mist  LT was surprised at Sayuri's words so he nodded his head and smiled. "Well you heard the lad-" All of the sudden a loud squeak and a giggle burst out of the front door way of the house. A young girl ran out of the house toward LT and Sayuri, and LT knelt down and opened his arms to accept the girls welcome. Instead Mei ran straight past LT right into Sayuri's arms. "Miss Sayuri!!!! how come your never visit me any more?" She squeezed Sayuri's hand gently, and showed her Mista Wabbit, who through the year, has had a couple or more holes it him and some cotton sticking through.

"You'll never understand me..." xxxxSayuri’s entire body turned at the sound of the squeal that shattered the silence like brittle glass, and she dropped to her knees before her mind had registered her actions. The small girl ran into her arms and Sayuri cradled her close, arms entwined around the child that she thought of as her own. The tears that welled up in her glacial blue eyes spilled unchecked down her pale cheeks as she held the little girl close and smiled sheepishly at Tares. The silence that fell was louder than thunder as Sayuri cradled and rocked the girl in her arms gently, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear just like she used to. Her hands worked to remove her overlarge blade from her back and set it aside while she gently pressed her lips against Mei’s forehead.
“You have no idea how much I missed you while I was away, sweetheart.” Sayuri’s voice, soft and choked thick with tears, murmured into the quiet as she continued to hold Mei in her arms. Her eyes stayed on Tares through the encounter and she smiled."That's the whole point."

Uchiha Bloodline| Mist ANBU Captain| Jonin Commander|Bloody Mist LT sighed and straightened up, he stared for a couple seconds not wanting to destroy the... love between Sayuri and Mei. And he guessed Mista Wabbit too. LT would give them some peace so he turned to the guards and had a short conversation before he patted each on their shoulder and started heading towards the house to get lunch ready. He turned around one last time to see Sayuri clutching Mei in her grasp, that image would stay with him till the end of his days. It was moments like that, that keep Tares fighting, that was just another reason for him to do what he does, for the future lives of his people, and the people closest to him.
LT sighed again, he tilted his head back to feel the warmth of the sun on his covered and masked face, he smelled the carbon and smoke from the fires in the armory. He heard the birds chirping and leaves rustling in the trees. He could here the rhythmic ping of the forge like a heart beat, the heart beat of his clan. Gently with one finger he pulled his mask down around his neck, bowed his head, and walked through the steel doors of his home.

"You'll never understand me..." xxxxtanding up and smiling at K and L before she grabbed her sword, Sayuri scooped Mei into her arms and followed Tares through the doors. She dried her tears quickly with the backs of her gloves and carried Mei into the house to kick off her boots in the entryway. She held the small girl close and planted a kiss on her cheek before following Tares into the rest of the house, being sure to stay close enough to him so she could always touch the tips of her fingers to his vest.
"So..." She began slowly, seating herself on the floor cross-legged with Mei in her lap. Her quick hands began combing the little girl's hair back and braiding it idly."That's the whole point."

Uchiha Bloodline| Mist ANBU Captain| Jonin Commander|Bloody Mist The "So" from Shayeri shook LT out of his trance. "So? So what? Wait, what's going on?" LT sat down confused next to Sayuri and Mei, and pulled a table closer to them. One the young girls came in with two trays filled with food, from bread and cheese, to meat and uj cake. LT thanked the girl and she him a quick hug and polite curtsy to Sayuri welcoming her back after such a long time. She left sliding the door closed quietly behind her, All the while Mei giggle and laughed in Sayuri's arms, as if Mei belonged there. LT picked up some bread and nibbled on it quietly as he read the pamphlet from the guards. "This looks bad, as if entire villages are gone." LT leaned over and patted Mei on the head, "I missed you booboo" Another giggle and smiled arose from the ball of energy and joy.

A small breeze blows outside as hundreds of paper swirl around the door to the Jounin Commander's house. They seemed to suddenly stick together to create an unknown figure. In a matter of seconds, the figure is more familiar as Shaoran, the paper master of the mist, stands before the door. He raises his hand and knocks on the door.
"Commander Tares, are you here?"

"You'll never understand me..." xxxxSayuri immediately stiffened at the knock on the door, every muscle tensed as she reached towards her sword, keeping it within arm’s length as Mei stiffened in response to Sayuri. The familiar tenor voice of the Jounin had her raising a blonde eyebrow at Tares and looking at him with sapphire eyes full of questions. She released the hilt of her sword and returned her attention to the braided mess that she had turned Mei’s glossy brown curls into. She smoothed the tangled strands idly and rested her chin atop the toddler’s head as her gaze tracked Tares’ movements.
“I don’t see why we don’t just light all of the damn things on fire.” Her soft soprano voice was blunt as she spoke, her chin moving awkwardly against the top of Mei’s head. Reaching forward to wrap her arms around Mei and grasp the young girl’s hands in her own gloved ones, Sayuri sighed contentedly and leaned her left side against Tares, perfectly at ease."That's the whole point."

LT kissed both Sayuri and Mei on the head before getting up to answer the door. "We very well may have to bun the entire thing to the ground." He paused a moment in thought as he slid open the door. "Ah Shaoran, what pleasant surprise. What can i do for you?" He ushered the man in and with one hand on the shoulder sat the man down at the table and push a tray of bread and cheese in the mans direction smiling at Mei the entire time.

"You'll never understand me..." xxxxOnly partially listening to Tares’ words, Sayuri’s glacial eyes tracked his movements as he crossed the room to welcome the intruder. She inclined her head politely at the Jounin, splitting a piece of bread in half and nibbling on one end while she handed the other half to Mei. The look Tares was giving the toddler, however, had Sayuri suspicious that he was going to say or do something in the very near future that would require Mei to move from her lap, and that simply was not happening. Her thin arms circled around Mei and held the girl close as she pondered the “let’s burn everything” plan. She thought silently to herself for a while, resting her cheek atop Mei’s head and listening to the steady heartbeat of the tiny life she held in her arms.
“Burn everything and then we can go to Konoha.” Sayuri mumbled miserably against Mei’s hair, peeking up at Tares."That's the whole point."
