G.L.B.T.
Hate the action, not the person G.L.B.T. Whatever you are I don't hate you I hate what you do You aren't a plague to be avoided Not an object to be extorted I just want you In all your simplicity To be with me In my eternity We love you all And want you with us No more hatred No more bias Just you and me In heaven's glory Let happiness be The end to your story No more hatred No more dread No more hearing "Oh, your friend's dead." There's none of that On the other side There's no need For suicide Just peace and love For all who come So, please, won't you? Won't you come?

My Eyes See Empty
My eyes see empty There's nothing It's void There's no emotion left When repetition wears it out My eyes see empty But why choose empty? Because it's "easier"? You are a fool My eyes see fools Emptiness is their bread Void is their drink They feed on nothingness Yet wonder why they hunger My eyes see hope Even ones such as these Can still see a faint light If only they would Open their eyes

You write good poetry so I say keep it up but perhaps you could use a little punctuation, it may add a little bit of clarity to what the rhythm is. But other than that your poetry has much meaning which is good to see.

Meh, who uses punctuation anymore? xd Some of my poems use it, but, most of the time, I find it an inconvenience when writing them. And, really, in the end, isn't the reader's deliberations from my poetry more important than the rhythm in which they read it? mrgreen To be honest, I'm not sure I could convey the right rhythm even with punctuation... sweatdrop Some of my poems are tricky like that... ninja

Perhaps but sometimes the way that a poem is written can detiremine the way the reader interprets it. Oops, spelt detiremine wrong, I can never spell it so oh well...hmm okey dokey I am going to go write more in my book.

Chains
I looked in the mirror and saw a new way. But as soon as I ventured down that way, I discovered that it was an old path. Nothing is ever new in this mirror of mine. Nothing ever changes. Is it really possible to break a chain? Link after link-ever flowing, ever continuity. I am told that the chain can only take so much stress. That it will eventually break with enough force. But I am left to wonder: Is it really possible to break a chain? In a flash of hope, I see a link give slightly. I hope. I pray. Please, be the first of many to break. The chain won't give. I am left to wonder: Is it really possible to break a chain?

Arachnid's Snare
My, how she dances. My, how she sways- The mistress in my head. Oh, how she tempts me. Oh, how she plays On my most animal instincts. She dances alone- All on her own, For it is not I Who urges her on. Less of a woman And more of a virus This entity has become. She sways on and on And begs me to draw near Thought I dare not. She continues her dance- That most wretched dance. Oh, how I loathe that dance. Less of a show And more of a lure Her dance becomes my trance. I'm invited in with pretty things Only to leave with sour feelings. Oh, how I seethe when I finally realize the ruse. A beautiful lie with which to ensnare. The arachnid's web shows No mercy for the captive. My mistress-the Spider Queen- Has tricked me again and again. Each time I fall victim I leave a piece of myself behind. So I wonder, "If only... If only, if ever, If ever I can restore My dissected soul..."

Walk of a Lifetime
[Verse 1] I remember a time Not so long ago When I took a walk Down life’s bumpy road. It was a walk to forget All the troubles of today But there is a man Who had a plan that day.
[Chorus] It was the walk of a lifetime. It was the walk of The Way. It was the perfect time For me to stop and pray Dear Father up in heaven Your will this day. I’m bowing here now For you to show me the way. And I pray you will guide me Be always beside me Because Father I love you. Please show me the way.
[Verse 2] As I finished my prayer And began to stand I had to wipe my tears With the back of my hand. I realized right then How good God had been. It didn’t seem like enough But I thanked him again and again. Then I ran straight home To tell my wife what happened.
[Chorus]
[Verse 3] About the time that I finished My wife began to cry And it broke my heart to see. She said, “Honey, Honey, I’ve been praying for you And I think God just Answered my prayer.”
[Chorus]

Hide and Seek
It was a Sunday at church, like most that I'd seen. I sat in my pew and listened to the preacher. I can't remember now the words that were said, But I do recall a distinct feeling. As the sermon wrapped up and they gave altar call, I clung to the pew as tight as I could. Sure enough, my methods had worked, And I passed God up once again.
[Chorus] I was playing hide and seek with the Lord Jesus Christ. But I was hoping he would find me all along. It made me so happy, so greatly relieved When he finally found where I was. Yes, thank God, he found where I was.
It was true that my plans had worked thus far, But I soon found that my mom had other plans. She pulled me aside and I knew that I had tell her. "Mom, God was calling me today."
[Chorus]
As quick as a flash, I was in front of the altar, Bowing and praying for forgiveness. And my momma bowed with me and prayed her own prayer. Thank God for a momma that cared. But nothing was important but that key word forgiveness. I'm so glad God forgave me that day.
[Chorus]
You see, friend, we can hide for as long as we like, But God just wants to hear one thing: "Dear Father, I've been hiding for far too long, and I want you to forgive me today."
[Chorus]

Ice Heart
See my hand Grip your heart. Watch your world Fall apart. Deadly poison Imparts your fate. Laugh and watch it Disintegrate. Honest mirrors Melt away. If only they could repeat The words you say. Feel my hand Upon your heart? Bitter taste. Love is so tart. Open your mind To the final score. Love is innocence. Love is war. Bind me now. Shackle this heart. Prisoner that The war begot. Seek the end In the icy grip. Love's a wonder. Love's a trip. Unshackle my heart. Set me free. Only with you I long to be. I'll carve the words Into my soul More times than You will ever know. Meet your grip With my own. I'll break your heart- This heart of stone! My hand in yours I'll melt the ice. Don't let go. This feels so right. Keep it together I'm still right here Keep on smiling. I'm still right here.

How Love Should Be
Walking hand in hand This is how we want to be, right? I'm with you. You're with me. Is there any better eternity? Could love really be As easy as this? I feel like I could Light up the sky With my love for you If that's alright. Even winter's cold bite Couldn't extinguish The flame in our hearts. I want you now. I need you now. And you feel the same. Two hearts united As two become one. Such beauty in harmony Has never been seen. This is how it should be, right?

Shadows & Veils
I can't face the mirror Because the sins of yesterday Pile high my disgrace. What am I if my shadows Hold more light than I? Who can the disgraced Run to when they've Lost everyone else? Dispossession. Like running a knife Through my still beating heart. I'd rather die Than give in to the darkness. You are what you are in the dark. Base and vile, Your agony is mostly deserved. If only you would Cast off the veil That blinds your heart. But you find more comfort in your pain Than in the peace that waits for you. How foolish you are. Then you shall sleep- An eternal sleep. For that is the only peace I can offer Such a hopeless man as you.

I knew I saw that screen name somewhere. xd Yeah, I'm the big poetry junkie in my guild. It's sad that other people just post their stuff and leave. I was hoping this place would be used more than just me... neutral

My Picture
Let me paint a picture. The one that shows this place. Gaze into my picture. Pass through time and space. I'm in this field and all alone. There's no one here; I'm all on my own. The only flower In this lonely field. The only one Still refusing to yield. To yield to the forces Of oncoming threats. No time for remorse. No time for regret. I dig in my roots And hold my petals high. All I can do Is gaze at that sky. That blue, blue sky Untainted by my surroundings. That deep, blue sky Still untainted by the lies. The lies that haunt the field Every single day. Those nasty, little lies I wish would go away. Yet here I am Planted firmly in place. I'm wishing for someone. Just a new face. I wait for a rose To be planted beside me. I wait for a rose That might lead and guide me. The yin to my yang The yang to my yin Whatever the case, I know we will win. But I'll wait in this field For as long as it takes. My field of old I long to create.
