☼ The Songbird ☼

More kido? Hmpht. Grasping the mouthpiece of her alto flute, Alkonost spun about on her heels and jerked free her hidden blade. Dragging the seele schneider like weapon through the blaze of fire the Septima Espada was able to break his attack in two. Effectively dividing it Alkonost still felt either half of the attack lap at her now red cheeks. From the weapon a light humming could be heard. The humming brought forth the reality of how fast her blade were vibrating. Sheathing it once again in her flute, Alkonost used her sonido to dash off a good, safe distance from the Taichou. Pursing her lips and blowing softly she sent a bar of Ultrasounds out from her weapon. The high frequency sharp soundwaves would easily lacerate any exposed skin and the inner ear affect of the attack would surely cause some discomfort in the least. Too bad he doesn't have a kido to protect his ears. Smiling still the Espada sped up her attack by increasing the rate of the air passing through the instrument. The soundwaves moved faster and more frequent, bouncing off one another and becoming jumbled at times into a single mass.

So, hes proficient in kido eh? Well I'm the bane of his existence. His kido has nothing on me. In most respects Alkonost was right. With her down feather defense and ability to cut through and disband kido based attacks his powers and adeptness to kido was almost useless. Her sound could travel faster than his kido and was harder to defend against. Fighting sound wasn't as easy as fighting kido because sound keeps coming. You can't exactly hide from it either. The only way to defend against sound was to not hear it. But the job of the ear was to pick all audible sounds. In order to not hear one would have to damage their own ear if not get rid of them altogether.

A dark flash appeared in front of Yamoto, resolving in an instant into the form of Razil. He stood, his hands together in front of his chest, elbows bent outwards. He opened his steel-gray eyes, and the mark on his forehead pulsed darkly. A black nova built between his hands.
"Yamoto-san, forgive me for this, but please hold your breath."

Razil growled, then tore his arms away from each other, letting the orb of energy expand away and around him and Yamoto.
"Rei-!"
The last bit of the shout was cut off by a sudden rush of wind. Razil had created an orb of Reido energy, then let it fly outwards, causing the air outside to rush away and create a temporary vacuum around him and Yamoto. Sound, being a transverse wave, needed some sort of medium, in this case air, to travel through. With this factor removed, the sound never reached them. Razil felt a sharp pain in the soles of his feet, and looked down. The sound waves from the flute had still traveled through the ground, and had retained enough frequency to burn through his soft shoes and blister his feet. He cursed softly, and form reishi barriers between the ground and his wounded soles.
"How many of these pests are going to show up?" he asked to no-one in particular, surveying the area and the many skirmishes going on.

"Razil..." That was the second time that Yamoto had been interupted in a fight. He had let Bullene have the last opponent because it was a personel thing, but this was different. "Go find someone else to fight and don't try to save me again. I can handle myself thank you." Yamoto pushed the younger captain out of the way as he faced the septima espada once again. "Razil, if you want someone to fight I suggest fat boy over there, he be an easy kill for someone like you." Yamoto looked down at his shikai released zanpakuto. "I guess it time to get serious." Without any indication Yamoto's sword shattered into millions of white and black particles. The particles began to serperate, the white one floating up higher in the air, the black one sinking the lower atmosphere. (Just for the recorded I'm assuming the battle is taking place in the sky.) The particles all began to disappear as if they were being absorbed by the sky. "It is time." Suddenly the sky below Yamoto and the Septima became as black as night completly making the ground disappear. There was no blue sky above them just a white ceiling. This was Yamoto's true Shikai where he control the darkness below him and the light above him.

I haven't used this in a while, it just goes to show you how much you interest me. Yamoto smiled as he held up his hand and pointed at the espada. Immediatly two pillars of light shot down from above. There were both 10 feet in diameter and had the power to completly obliterate anything they touched. Yamoto smiled as he directed the pillars to collide with the arrancar and purify her soul. Not even your plumage will save you now songbird. Yamoto smiled as he watched the pillar near the target, but even if they missed this was only the beginning.

When dark reflections dance...

((Bull hasn't posted in a while, and I'm tired of having nothing to do, so I'm gonna go ahead and post before I leave for xmas))

Bikou let out a long sigh, dropping the tip of the large flaming sword in his hands to the ground. In truth, he was tired, tired of running about and fighting like a lunatic, tired of playing around with children wo spoke of ideals and power. Who treated death like it was nothing, and spoke of the killing of an arrancar like it was a game. He would show them, oh yes, they would learn the strength hidden beneath the masks he wore. For the first time since he severed his heart from his body, Bikou felt a glimmer of emotion. Rage.
His reiatsu exploded out from his body, erupting in a cloud of silver sheen that rivaled the brightness of the sun. The remainders of stone and trees beneath his feet crumbled, and the sword in his hand vanished, dispersing into ash beneath his fist.
Slowly, but gaining speed with each passing moment, Bikou-Bullene's face fell away, revealing the featureless mirror-skinned being beneath the disguise. Bikou was awake.
The liquid-esque skin rippled, opening into what seemed to be a mouth, and he spoke.
"Enough games, little captains. Enough toying about while I examine your powers." If he had eyes, they would have lowered to glare at his opponents, but since he did not, a flicker of reflection flashed across his face, and his smile vanished. "Tremble and cry, run and hide. But you will not escape." His reiatsu spiked again, this time revealing his entire form, and dispelling everything about him that had been Bullene, leaving only Bikou, and the raging fires that now consumed the majority of squad eights barracks and training grounds. In that respect, Bikou was amused, even if no one died here today, it would take weeks to restore the damage done. He planned to increase that amount of time.
"Behold my true strength, shinigami." He said with a laugh, his voice moving like crystalline wind, "Let me remind you why children fear the dark." He raised his sword to the sky, allowing his reiatsu to once again rise in strength, blanketing the sky with a thick haze of silver light, sending strange shadows about the area, and clouding the sun.
Abruptly, his reiatsu vanished, and so did he, disappearing into the air like a mirage, although no signs of shunpo or sonido existed. At least, not at first.
It began as a single static 'pop', then expanded into two, three, four, and continued, until the edges of the training grounds echoed about with the sound of sonido. It was as if a thousand arrancar were arriving, and leaving, in the same second. Silence. Nothing moved save for the others who were fighting, the air seemed eerily still.
Bikou's voice, seeming to come from hundreds of angles, and accompanied by more static sounds, echoed through the ruined alleyways, bearing a grim message.
"I count three that I can kill without sound. And two that would not give me much more of a fight. You cannot fight what you cannot see shinigami, even if you rage against the storm for hours, and exhaust every resource available to you. You see, there is a secret that you have failed to grasp. This entire time I have been fighting, I have been at half strength, limited by my use of Captain Katsurou's sword. Now that I have abandoned my mask, I am at full power, and I will not fall so easily. And in the haze of reiatsu, as long as I suppress mine, you will not be able to pinpoint my exact location, only know that I am here."
A ripple in the air moved behind the newly arrived shinigami captain, barely visible even from a close angle. A moment later it was gone, moving to a new location with a burst of static.

((Bikou just moved to touch Razil, not attack or hurt him. Unless Razil has ungodly detection abilities, and can react to an invisible, silent, and almost undetectable movement, the touch succeeded. If a retaliation is made however, I will accept it.))

Razil took a few steps to the side as Yamoto pushed him, shrugging his indifference.
"Just trying to help." he said, not really minding either way.
When Bikou began to change, all the young Captain could think of was how interesting it was. This Arrancar seemed to have a unique ability, one that deserved further study. As the sky went dark, and Bikou vanished, Razil closed his eyes, and let his chin drop. The Zaigou mark pulsed once more, right as Bikou reached out from the mist and disappeared. Slowly, dark tendrils of energy started to emanate from Razil, outlining his body in a dark fire.
"Arrancar, you who shines as silver. I do not know your name, and your ability is impressive, but you presume much to think you can take us all on."
He raised his head and opened his eyes, revealing them to have gone from steel-gray to a dark purple, almost black. His hair was suddenly shot through with dark streaks, and his skin grew even paler, revealing the hundreds of scars on his body even more than usual.
"It is foolish to think you are untraceable, especially when facing three Captains. Even more so when two of those three are Zaigou. I do admit though, your camouflage is quite..." Razil put his hands together, and drew them apart, pulling two long daggers out as well.
"...uncanny."
He flourished the twin blades, spinning them effortlessly in his hands. He brought his hands up and crossed his forearms over his chest, holding the daggers in a reverse grip, and waited.

When dark reflections dance...

((I am assuming that means that the touch was successful.. I will refrain from using anything involving that until I receive conformation though.))

A slight flicker in the air appeared in front of Razil, twisting to reveal the shining form of Bikou, his skin rippling like a pool of water that had been disturbed by a drop of rain. A soft sigh escaped his head, from what orifice it was not certain, but the sound came nonetheless. He wondered for a moment if Captain Bullene would try to step in on his new fight with Razil, or if he would dispatch of the cumbersome Sigeric for him before joining the festivities. No matter, he had what he needed.
"I do not intend to take you all on, Captain Razil." Bikou said as he smiled, or at least, seemed to smile, as it was difficult to tell in his new form. "My plans have never involved the mass destruction of your kind, no matter how.. annoying, you might be." His sword appeared in his hand with a slight ripple in the air. "As for my abilities.. I wonder if you truly understand them? Let us test it."
Without warning, he vanished, accompanied by a static burst of speed that would place him directly to Razil's left. Spinning in the air on a horizontal axis, he swung his left foot, still invisible, up towards the back of Razil's knee, using a rapid sonido a split second before the kick made contact, and displacing his motion to attack the opposite side.
Not waiting to see the results of his kick, he moved again, this time coming at Razil directly from the front, shimmering sword in hand. Or at least, so it seemed.
As with the previous attack, he vanished before a forward thrust with his blade, appearing behind Razil, and again directly below him, slashing upwards rapidly.
His blade dance complete, he moved backwards quickly, sliding to a stop in mid-air, several yards away from Razil, doubtful that any of the attacks had connected, but satisfied in the set up he had just completed.

☼ The Songbird ☼

Alkonost felt the considerable change in energies. A release within a release no doubt...clever, but faulty. Using her advanced Sonido she was able to move out of the path of the first pillar but the second grazed her left arm, annihilating it. Screaming soundlessly in agony Alkonost dropped to her knees, he Zanpakuto gone with her arm.

(AutoKill Power activate!!!!! )

Yamoto smiled as he watched the espada cry in pain. "I have no more use for this." Yamoto held up his hand and his true shikai reverted to it's orginal state. "You put up a fight, but sadly..." Yamoto appeared behind the girl and laughed a little. "I figured out how to win." Yamoto held up his right index and middle finger and began to hit the girl all over her back. He concentated mainly along the spinal cord and where he knew the kidneys were, but for the rest he just struck at random spot. "You see you plumage was designed to block large scale kido attack, as was your whole battle mentallity. You could only handle one attack at a time, which is why you only have one arm now. Unfortunatly you can't simply die of blood loss that would be boring, but don't worry I just killed you." Yamoto smiled as he held up his right index finger once more and touched the back of the espada head. "Like I said before you resserucion was good at blocking my spell on a large scale, but what you are going to experince is by far one of my cruelest kido techniques."

Yamoto smiled at the now almost dead espada. "Since you are still here I tell what is going to happen. My technique is a combination of hand to hand and kido. The intial strike was just which you felt was just the way for the actual technique to activate. With ever touch I released some of my own reiatsu in to your body. It was such a small amount that you body didn't think to stop it because it would normal be absorbed by your body during a long fight like the one we have had. Also in your condition most of your reiatsu and energy is trying to stop you from passing out of blood loss. Now since my reiatsu is inside you and I am such a close proximity I still have complete control over it. This while I have been talking to you I have been molding my reiatsu in to a condense sphere which I call a kido bomb. There is one at each place at touched you, all different sizes, but all very explosive." Yamoto began to laugh as he stared at the maimed girl. "Your final moments on this earth will be those of a living time bomb."

Yamoto smiled suddenly disappeared at he looked at the girl a final time. "I do thank you for a good fight." Yamoto snapped his fingers once and the process began. The explosions occured randomly, but that didn't matter, the espada back was completly destroyed including her entire spinal cord. Yamoto could actually see the inner workings of the girl. Then the area around the kidneys exploded shattering the girls hips causing the now dead body to fall to the ground. The smoldering corpse was still in free fall when the final explosion occured. The head of the body was encenrated by a fire leaving nothing but a burnt lifless decapitated body.

Yamoto sighed as he watched the final moments of the now wretched body, before in decinagrated in the reishi. "What a shame." Yamoto smiled as he turned his eyes to Sigeric. "How about it do you want to end up like that one did."

When dark reflections dance...

Looking on from his fight with Razil, Bikou stopped cold, his eyes, or at least what would have been his eyes, glazing over.
Alkonost was dead.
The pure weight of what had just happened fell on Bikou like a thunderbolt, and he collapsed to his knees, head in hands, and letting out an unearthly shriek, so loud and high-pitched, that the very air about him exploded, shattering and crashing outwards, turning the very earth beneath him to dust.
This was not supposed to have happened. He knew it was foolish to allow the others to accompany him. He knew, but still he pushed them. The fat fool he cared little for, and his fraccion were even less in Bikou's eyes. But Alkonost..
Alkonost had been a glimmer of light on the battlefield. Someone, like Bikou, who fought with finesse, rather than sheer force alone. His collapse was not out of sadness, but rage. The shinigami had crossed a line, and it was time this dance ended.

As the others looked on, Bikou's skin fractured, shattering into thousands of shards of glass and swirling about his body like a tornado. His form shifted almost faster than the eye could follow, moving from one shape to the next in the space of mere milliseconds. His head remained in his hands, but the air about him shimmered with reiatsu, releasing enough force to throw a herd of elephants across the Niger. Abruptly, he stopped, and his shape remained as one coherent thought, the reflection of his minds eye, and the focus of his hate. Yamoto.
It was not a manifestations of Yamoto's own powers, but rather, a reflection of the sole subject on which Bikou's mind was focused. You see, on a normal day, Bikou was emotionless, cold and calculating. Things were not much different now, with the exception that he had been forced into a rage by the numerous captains approaching him from every angle. He hated tight spaces.
Slowly, Bikou stood, cold eyes leveling at Yamoto from across the field.
"YAMOTO." His voice was deafening, but not a yell, "What you have done will not be forgiven, nor forgotten. You have sealed the fate of this squad, and every member in it. I curse this ground." He spat, contempt glowering on his, or rather, Yamoto's features.
Strangely enough, what happened next was without a doubt one of the strangest things Bikou had ever done in such a situation. He laughed. Not a laugh of hatred, nor a laugh of anger or helplessness. But rather, a pure laugh, full of amusement and mirth. What was especially odd about this, is that it sounded like music. Strange music, to be sure, but music nonetheless.
Yamoto's visage faded, and Bikou's own smiling eyes peered out from his face, white teeth flashing in the light.
"Is that what you were expecting, little captain?" He teased, chuckling once more. "Think again." He yawned slightly, patting a hand over his mouth, and shrugged nonchalantly, a frown of boredom plastered across his once-smiling features. "You all bore me. I came here to accomplish something, and I have completed my task. To make matters even more boring, all I've gotten so far is a bunch of un-thinking idiots rampaging about in a show of power. Is this what Soul Society has become?" He scoffed, spitting again, as if he had a bad taste in his mouth. "Power-drunk fools, the lot of you. To think I once considered this mottly bunch rivals. Blech." He shuddered, as if shaking off spider-webs. Not that true spider-webs would have phased him. "As it now stands, and as far as I am concerned, this fight is over." His cold, still gleaming eyes turned back to Yamoto, emotionless, yet altogether full of amusement. "But remember this, Yamoto Shiboo. For every life taken, another must be claimed. Remember this as you look out upon your precious squad, and the squads of your friends, for I will come as a thief in the night, silent as the grave and with a mouth full of vengeance."
With that, Bikou held his hand out to the side and snapped his fingers, opening a mid-sized Garganta, slipping into it, and closing it behind him.
[exit]

[EDIT]
((This thread has basically died.. and it is preventing me from posting anywhere, so I'm going to have Bikou leave.
Sorry Raz.. I was really looking forward to our duel..))
