"No, I don't. Tell me." Okay. In truth, Laini knew something about love, probably more than Muroki did. Why she asked was that she wanted to hear. And of course also because the love was complicating thing and she wasn't sure what exactly was going on. Especially when her daughter was involded.

"I care more about Hisani than anything. Which is why I'm sure I love her." He left the carcass along for a minute, trying to think how to explain. "But whether this is what everyone else calls love, I do not know. All I know is her happiness means more to me than my own does."

Laini let go of the carcass as well. They weren't in hurry. "Do you miss her every second when you and she are separated? Does your heart beat fastly when she is around? Would you die for her?" Laini gave him some time to think about it before continuing. "If you answered yes to everything, then it's love."

"Yes, I miss her when I'm wandering. And sometimes, my heart beats faster, though she also makes me so...calm and docile - I never lie to her." Laini had to know how Muroki lied - "Mawali" lied - and charmed and tricked. She'd known him as a cub, after all.
"And I've wanted to protect her for so long - of course I'd die for her. Better I live and stay with her, though."

Laini smiled and looked touched. "I'm so happy, to get such a good son-in-law.... I mean, you have told her, right? After all, you asked did you do wrong by telling her about your feelings."

"Oh?" Her brows jumped up for a moment. "I'm sorry. I thought..." Her gaze went down and soon she picked the carcass in her teeth. She carried it for some while until dropped it. She had to ask. "Should I talk to her?"

"No! No, it's okay." Muroki was sure that's what Hisani had meant and having Laini talk to her about it...oh, he'd run away with embaressment. He caught hold of the kill again and started to help drag it.

"Okay then," Laini said and grapped the carcass again. They carried it close to den though not exactly on it's mouth. It would be dangerous if she would have carried it too close. Who knew what kind of creatures would find them.
"There," she said, more to herself than to young fellow besides of her. Dragging the kill was quite task, though she had used to it and this time she had some help too. She turned to face Muroki. "Would you like to get in or do you want go and tell Hisani that the dinner is here?"

"I'll go let her know." He nodded, his brown mane flopping over his eyes as he did so. He'd be helpful. Muroki felt a little bit bad he hadn't helped get the kill, so the least he could do was go get Hisani to the meal.
The ex-Dawnwalker padded up to the den's mouth. "Hisani? Goldie, dinner is ready."

Laini nodded and as soon Muroki turned his back to her, she dig in the kill.
The den was quiet. No answer from Hisani. Why she was quiet? Was something happened? If Muroki examined the den closer, he could find Hisani laying against some dry grass, which blended almost perfectly with her golden fur. She was curled into a ball like shape and her eyes were closed. She was sleeping.

He padded forward, and found this out by sight and hearing alone; almost blended, and her breathing was deep. The male was very concious of the tender little smile that grew at this sight. Bloody female! He never usually grinned like an idiot - but she was kind of cute...
"Hisani?" He nuzzled her, trying to wake her up gently.

Hisani mumbled something that wasn't even real words, just sleepy mumbling. Her right forepaw twitched and she turned her head a little. "Hmmm? ... Muroki... where are you taking me?" She asked through her sleep. She smiled. Apparently, the dream was pleasant one.

"Nowhere, Goldie. Except to eat." He nuzzled her shoulder, more insitantly, and sat back. Come on 'Sani, wake up...Sandy ears flicked back, listening to Laini outside. Maybe he should go eat, and they could save her share - he could guard it from scavengers.
She did look so peaceful and happy~
