Alena_Ryu Fathomless Fae Flit grabbed Ryu's willing finger and hugged tightly.
"Fae, I think it's time Ryu meets the others." she said exitedly as she watched Ryu's eyes fill with swirling magick. Fae looked into Ryu's eyes and was consoled by his whispers with Flit.
"Yes, I whole heartedly agree with you Flit, now is the best time, he'll be able to see all of the others now." she said as she was amazed at the control he was showing with his new powers, and how quickly he was becoming accustomed to it's surges.
Fae tucked her hair behind her right ear and tousled the pewter earring, and caused a distinct tinkling sound that resonated through her soul-magick and was amplified into the room.
"It's time to reveal yourselves little ones, come out from your hiding places, all is safe, we are amongst friends!" Fae called about the room as she continued to jingle her earring. ((Erm....I'm a bit confused. Who are these "others"?))
Ryu gasped, looking around the room with his energy-clad eyes. Blue silhouettes, all around. Through the walls. All through the town. His eyes were opened.....so many. There were so many magical creatures! All hiding in this town! And....what the....
"That large building..." He said, looking in the direction of the nearby island, on which was Nightengale Acadamy. "Its chock full of magical creatures..." He said, blinking.

Flit leaped from the table and shot up to the ceiling.
She flew in large circles before she dipped down to dart to each light with a broad grin. She greeted each one and flew over to hover next to Ryu's head. "They all say hello...." she smiled. "Hello friends. This is Ryu." Fae said as she looked about the room at the glowing lights.
"Ryu" she whispered, "You cannot see them clearly yet because they are still trusting, but the two over there" she pointed to the wall floating by the fireplace, two blue orbs, "one is Flit's sister."
"And the few over there is a leprechaun, a unicorn foal, a centaur about your age," she seemed to bow her head in respect towards the door and then said, "and they all bid you good tidings."
She smiled at him kindly, no worry present on her porcelain face.

"They're....trusting?" Ryu asked, turning his pupilless eyes to the Enchantress. "They trust me....so I can't see them? Is that right?" He asked, raising an eyebrow. That.....made no sense.....
They...can see me. Using this not only illuminates their locations....but I shine like a lighthouse. I need to be careful when doing this.... he thought. Though this technique could prove quite useful later on. "Why couldn't anyone, including myself, see them before? If they're in the town, why does everyone look human?"

Fae looked at Ryu as he surveyed the room.
"Ryu, you must remember, this power is new to you, and not only yours. It lives in everything. They see you for what you are, a small boy with surges of strong magicks, which you possess for doing good."
Fae wiped at her brow gently with her gloved hand. She was breaking out in a sweat and becoming pale as she continued to speak.
"They still don't trust you yet. And I have no idea just how much power you contain. I'm having a hard time keeping a barrier from them seeing us, and most importantly.....you....." Fae wobbled slightly in her chair as the room seemed to pulse.

"But....this power.....the energy I'm wielding right now....its not just mine.." He said, his hand shifting about a bit. "Its all of ours......"
The boy took in a deep breath, and on the exhale, he began to will Fae's power back into her, hoping to strengthen her enough to continue to keep this barrier intact. Although......
"Who exactly would wish to attack me?" He blurted out, a question that had been nagging at him since the barrier was erected. "And I refuse to believe that I'm more important than Flit....

Fae's face grew solemn as her strength renewed at Ryu's urging.
"You may not believe so now, but the things that have stolen creatures like Flit, crushed their lives and spirits for their own gain, do everything they can to stop a mere legend of a clan of elves. Elves who care for these magicks that you, half human, half high elven blood are able to use. It's never been heard of." Fae closed her eyes and relaxed some as the air seemed to thin for her alone, allowing her to catch her breath.
"It's too much for tonight" she sighed lightly.

"Who....who could be so heartless...." Ryu said, anger and despair entering his voice. "No....not Flit. Flit won't be taken....I swear it....I'll protect her as she protects me!" He yelled, tears flowing from his face as he stood up, raising an angry fist in the air.
He knew he wasn't that strong. Heck, physically Ryu was a downright wuss. But he was agile. (Kinda helped to be part-elf.) And now he had magic. With these two tools, he'd make sure him and Flit were never separated....

Fae only nodded as Ryu spewed vehement feelings of fear over the loss of Flit, and she was proud. His compassion, like his father's, strong and resolute.
"Ryu, I know it's scary and you may be afraid, but all of us here have great faith in you. We don't want the light to go as much as we don't want the dark to take over either." she said solemnly.
"He would be proud of you, you know. Of your heart and your eagerness." Fae perked up a bit, trying to sound less of a worry wort.

Ryu sighed, collapsing back into the chair. His pupils returned, and his body seemed to go somewhat limp. Channelling that much energy was, at all instances, tiring. It felt wonderful to have it moving and swirling within him, but taking too much more then just the ammount he and Flit already shared was like trying to keep two supermagnets apart from eachother. One could do it, but not without exerting alot of energy.
He smiled a bit, before letting his head rest on the table. "What are we gonna do....about my adopted parents...?" He asked, thinking of his old room.

Flit landed lightly on Ryu's slumped shoulder as he rested his head against the table. She patted his shoulder, trying to soothe him some and ease his mind that she was close. Fae nodded, "Yes, we do have to do something about that don't we?" she stated more than asked.
She arose from her seat, took in one deep breath and closed her eyes, focusing on releasing the barrier now that Ryu's power had calmed.
"Thank you friends, you may go, but stay close, I will be calling you again, and maybe soon." Fae said as she opened her eyes, feeling the last of the barrier slip and the blue crystal upon the table vanished with a final bright glow and then dimmed to just bare table.
Fae walked to the staircase by the door, gave Ryu a somewhat helpless look and then gathered herself. She had to do this, so Ryu could keep his home he'd known all of his life without her, and so she could see to his happiness with her in the future.
She disappeared to the other side of the staircase, where she kept the human invention they called a a telephone, and picked up the receiver. Flit nudged Ryu gently as to distract him from what his mother was doing.
"Ryu, are you ok?" she asked wearily. The little faerie looked pale and frightened. She trembled a bit, and seemed to be piled up on his shoulder, barely able to hold herself up.

"Y....yeah...." He muttered, smiling fiently at the tiny fairy. "Just tired...."
"One of these days....we'll use magic....without wearing ourselves out." The boy joked, nudging Flit back with the side of his cheek.
"That....school. The one with all the creatures....do you know anything about it?"

"N-no, actually I don't. Other than your mother's shop, I haven't ventured far." she said kind of ashamed for not being able to help him.
"Do you know anything about it?" Flit asked, her faced cheering some as Ryu snuggled her close.

"I think.....that the creatures are students there......theres some humans to, but they're much fewer in number....." He groaned, craning his neck slightly to look in the direction he had seen earlier, when the silloughets were visable. "It....it seems like a school FOR magical creatures....a boarding school no less..."
