1- smile That's okay, could you edit your post about Mark then please?
My bad for Kaine and Bert, I read your post again and it is Rem who is/was Lizzie's friend. But as then you mentioned that the group went to give their condolences to Bert I assumed that Kaine was also a friend of Bert. After all who would get out of there way just to give condolences to someone they don't know... I quote you: "Kaine and co. gave their condolences to Bert and left"
2- I am fine with your character being knowledgeable I just want you to role play it... As for your explanation of a/ & b/ that's great but where is it in the game? Am I suppose to fill up the blanks and assume the whole story? Your explanation is very reasonable, I'd love to see that in a post...
3- I am fine with your character being aware of Serenice/ they might have even met before, but the population just knows that the Princess has bodyguards...
4- Well if you want one of these replacement to happen in a known place such as the Fat Pig you need to role play it, not to 'assume it'.
I know I am peaky, but it's a literate role play so I am expecting depth and consistency...
For example, if Kaine is a trained soldier who is aware of Serenice's situation, why would he blow up her cover in the middle of an Inn where even if the owner is a friend, people might overhear...

I have no quarrel with your replies to my answers, I'll do 1, 2, 3, as for number 4, I'm just gonna edit that out so as to make things less complicated, for the first three I think an easy approach would be for Bert to ask Kaine how he knew all this and what happened to his men, as for talking to Bert about it, Kaine is barely talking above a whisper, and he sat at the empty end of the bar as yet another precaution.

I'm going to step on in here and just stick some stuff in. I, personally, wouldn't buy someone being able to tell someone's gender from the way that they step. Reason being:
The way people steps vary from person to person. But, that aside, Serenice is a trained bodyguard of the princess of Erion so she's probably packed with a lot of muscle. Even with a little muscle on her she's going to weigh more than an average woman. On top of that Serenice probably looks like a slim man, therefore it's natural that her footsteps would be lighter than a heavy male. Plus I've known women who step really hard and their footsteps are louder than men's. The sound of someone's footsteps doesn't necessarily reveal their weight, it just reveals their walking style.
Also, how does the soldier know that Serenice is a man? Was she just walking by and he saw her and knew? If Serenice is frequently mistake for a man she probably wears androgynous clothing. Unless someone could tell by Serenice's face (and considering that she's frequently mistaken for a man I'm doubting that) the only real way to tell someone is a girl is by their hips or hands. Or unless they happen to have a large chest. And if Serenice is pretending to be a man she's probably going through measures to ensure that those telltale signs are hidden.
On top of that Serenice is supposed to be unnoticeable. Think about it: If she's been by the princess's side since the princess's birth for all of those years and the public has no idea that she exists Serenice probably knows how to hide herself well. How is it that someone was able to pick her out of a crowd and know that she's a woman on top of that?
And how would someone know that the only person that a woman dressed up as a man was going to meet would be Mark?
Also, did someone tell Kaine about Serenice? And why would they do that? Lilith and Serenice would probably only make Serenice known to people whom they highly trust, based off of how few people know that Serenice exists. So, if Kaine learned from someone else, why did that person tell Kaine?
There are other things that I could point out or ask about but I'm not going to. This post is already long enough. xD I'm not trying to play battleship and sink your boat, I just want to point out things to consider or think about. And some of it I'm just plain curious about.

Alright Captain, I do admit you are correct about the walking style idea, but then again, in my town all the girls are the 90 pound aberzombie morons, so haven't had much experience with other women's footstep/ walking styles.
As for knowing about Serenice, Kaine was taking orders from the King himself, therefore Kaine would've been told about Serenice or else he probably would've thought Serenice some kind of stalker and/or assassin and fought with her otherwise.
I assumed that the inn was a very small one with maybe 1 or 2 rooms, and that the only regular person who stays there would be Mark.
You don't have to think your Battleship to sink my boat, I hate it when people have unanswered queries with my posts.
