Belram grinned when Uuni Impressed, pounced by the mischievious blue. He'd worried for a moment, but it quickly became clear that the action was purely playful, and no harm was meant at all. The girls were making out better than the boys, so far, and that was just fine by him. If someone was going to get hurt, he definitely preferred that it not be one of the girls.

And the latest blue was...waiting for his egg-friend to hatch? Despite his gender, Belram could confidently say that that was adorable. The Green Paradise egg, however, was in no hurry at all. Rather like the bronze, who peeked out to greet his blue sibling before settling back into his shell again.

The Candidate couldn't help but smile. He liked that o-

...wait, what? The blue was heading for the stands! Did he think he'd find His there? If so, one of the spectators was in for quite the surprise. He chuckled to himself at the thought.

Nadia watched in surprise as the blue ignored all of the candidates and went for the stands, she turned to watch the stands following the blues movements and wondering who it was looking for among the stands. Casting surprised eyes at the other candidates she saw that most of them had a similar surprised look on their faces.

"Oh great," Jaylin said sourly as the blue made his choice not to go to either of the Candidate sections, but to... the stands? Jaylin grumbled darkly about the heights of other candidates and shifted, torn between wanting to see where the blue was going and holding his place. On one hand, he had a nice view of the eggs. But on the other... ah!

He breathed a sigh of relief when the blue finally halted, looking up. Jaylin could see him from here! "Huh. Wonder what he's up to now," he said out loud, crossing his arms and tilting his head to one side in puzzlement.

Aiyisha gave a gasp as the blue started to lumber towards the group of candidates, but when he made no sudden veer towards one gender or the other, she threw a hand to her mouth in shock. As the hatchling sauntered up to the stands and stood at it's lowest rung, searching, she gave her fellow candidates a look of doe-eyed bewilderment.

"A STANDS impression, really?" she couldn't help but utter, not in jealousy but in true surprise. As many times as she'd watched a hatching she had never seen it happen. Granted, she'd only seen a few hatchings, but it was clear this wasn't very common. Still, she knew that if the right person was among the crowd, this was how it had to be. Location had no rights to separate what was meant to be.

Her hands worried the edge of the robe again with a new fervor as she turned to watch the blue, intrigued. What unsuspecting person was about to have their lives changed?

He breathed a sigh of relief when the bronze peeked out. Blue eyes were a good color. He was alright after all! He was just taking his time. Well, that was alright. Arolon could do that too in his wait for the hatchling to impress.

The blue ignored all the candidates and went for the stands. He grinned after it, my what an interesting hatching! The blue gave him hope, if someday he was too old to stand at the sands there was still a chance to impress. The blue was content Green Paradise was okay and now searched for his.

Kamihan was grinning from ear to ear. Sure, that one green had bumped a few people around, but honestly, they could suck it up. Both of the dragonets who'd Impressed so far were awesome. Note to self: make friends with new weyrlings.

He kept one eye on the watchful, patient bronze the whole time. Well, naturally. Bronzes had the potential to grow up to be weyrleaders, you'd want to keep an eye on who Impressed a dragon like that. He didn't seem to be moving, though... And then another blue hatched, and went right PAST all of them.

Straight to the stands.

What the heck was Theirs doing all the way up there? Maybe some apprentice crafter come to watch a relative stand, or something? Still, the surprised looks on everyone's faces were completely worth it.

Oh dear, Trista thought to herself. Someone might just impress from the stands. She had never seen such a thing. But then she had never been to a hatching at all before. She had heard of it happening very rarely. Curious she watched and waited to see who the little one would fasten on.

R'ysan and Regedth moved along finally getting guidance from other riders in the stands as to where to go. His mind was just a little preoccupied with his new lifemate that he couldn't quite wrap his brain about the rest of the world yet. But finally he made it to a table that was placed close to the stands and off to the side.

He grinned as he saw the fine display of prepared meats and looked to Regedth. "We're first!" He said outloud and then in his mind.

"We are R'ysanmine would you please give me the best pieces that you see?" she answered him with an eager dragonish smile. She wanted as many good pieces as she could get before the others arrived.

R'ysan scanned the meat and found some fine cuts dragging them out and offering them to her. "These are red, plump and smell pretty good. I'm sure the Weyr picked out plenty of taste morsels here."

Her mouth accept the meat and she chewed upon it considering its flavor.
"MMMHMMM!" she agreed happily and nudged him for more which he graciously complied to give her.

Amoreth

PostPosted: Fri Oct 09, 2009 2:55 pm

Curiously, Amoreth tracked the blue's progress to the stands. What was the little Dragon doing? If the Candidates did not provide him with His, perhaps he sought His in the stands. Aye, that must be it.. Hm. A Dragon Impressing from out of the stands. It was almost poetic.

She shifted on the spot, distributing the weight from one foot onto the other as her white robes shifted about her ankles. The sands were growing steadily hotter, but the young woman took no notice. Already, two Dragons had Impressed and two others had hatched--things were happening quickly. Almost too much so, for Amoreth felt she could stand here forever, watching the Dragons find their lifemates and waiting for one that could be her own. Again, her eyes traversed the remaining eggs. Waiting was almost physically excruciating; nevertheless, she remained outwardly as calm as ever she was. Like so many still standing there, waiting for the possibility of a Dragon choosing them, Amoreth kept quiet. Once again, her green gaze shifted, this time to look through the stands.

This was the first time she'd actually gotten a real feel for how big the cavern was. Dragons were seated all around and above them in their own area, as humans sat in the stands, all eyes on the blue who was eyeing each of them in turn. He was searching so intently.. His had to be there. Amoreth sucked in a breath of air, suppressing a laugh. Oh, the look on the face of the one he found would be utterly priceless.

Zia followed the blue worrying, where did he think he was going? They were taught in lessons that dragons are often very confused right out of the shell, but he seemed to know exactly what he was doing, just like the adorably shy bronze.

"Looks like a stands impression," she nodded vigorously in agreement with Aiyisha.

Zia tugged at her long braid nervously, that dragonet wasn't going to climb the seats was he? he could get hurt that way. She clucked her tongue watching the blue.

This Hatching just kept getting better and better! Another Blue hatched, this time streaking straight for the Stands. Whoever that lucky one for him was in for a big surprise in a bit, once the Blue found them. Gylren watched appreciatively, wondering what would hatch next. Maybe a nice Brown, or another Bronze? Possibly a Green? It was all up to chance, and he would wait and see.

Grinning as the green and the blue each found Theirs, Bess began to loosen up as the Hatching progressed. It was hard to feel sad, or even worried, when the others around you were Impressing to such personalities! He would have to watch those two as they grew, because he was certain they, especially the blue, would become known throughout the Weyr. This Hatching was turning out to be a peaceful, but entertaining one so far. No one hurt yet except that one Candidate and most of the dragonets were proving to be amiab-

His thoughts were interrupted as the next dragon hatched. Ah, another blue! He grinned as the blue waited on the other egg to hatch, before eventually giving up and moving on. When the bronze's head popped up from its shell, he gave a hearty, surprised laugh at its appearance. So it was a bronze!

Idly wondering why the bronze hadn't Impressed yet, Bess's eyes followed the blue as he went...to the Stands?! What! He'd heard of Stands Impressions before, but he'd never actually witnessed one. This was beginning to be one of the most exciting Hatchings yet.

The blue was going, going, gone. Into the Stands. What a waste. There was probably a perfectly good candidate in the crowd and he had to go on a little adventure to try and get his own. Janga had a distinct dislike for people like that, too sharding goal oriented. But they would never step on another person that was in their way, just circumvent them and keep going. Honestly, they were far too good for their own good, for lack of a better saying. Whoever that dragon was looking for had better be prepared. They had a lot to catch up on. Not that she cared, really. Hopefully it was someone she could still push around.

Turning her attention back to the clutch, she focused instead on the remaining eggs. "Looks like the bronze didn't go Between yet," she mused to no one in particular, watching as the head lifted and then disappeared again. Had someone not gone to make sure it wasn't a wher that was in the wrong clutch? Sun-crazed wherry.

Kyllae couldn't decide if she was more excited, or terrified. Her last hatching...to say it had gone terribly was a vast understatement. The appearance of the two blues sent her heart racing each time, out of fear more than anything else, but neither of them seemed troubled, and after the first impressed and the second calmly trotted to the stands, well...at least he didn't seem anxious? She prayed he would find his without trouble. At least...if anything happened this time...she couldn't be faulted?

She took a deep breath. She couldn't worry now. It might scare the dragonets off. And she did oh so ever want to impress. All of the dragonets so far...they were healthy, seemingly happy, and though that one green did draw a little blood, from what Kyllae saw, it didn't seem serious. Hopefully that was all the blood that was going to be shed on the stands today.

She wasn't crowded at the front. She was tall enough that she could see over a few heads, and if there were any dragonets that decided to come plowing through the crowd, the front probably wasn't the best place to be. Hopefully people could keep their calm, and get out of the way in time if anything happened. Hatchings were supposed to be happy. She smiled a little, eyes ever attentive, scanning the eggs even as she kept an eye on the blue who was taking his time looking over the stands. Nothing to worry about. Not yet...

Amelia blinked as the blue paused to consider the thoughtful bronze and then made a beeline for the stands. Frowning, she wondered if a Candidate had gotten mixed in with the crowds rather then down on the sands - that would probably confuse the dragonet.

Perhaps he was simply window shopping as the earlier blue had done? As gasps of surprise rang out, she began to settle on that idea, brushing her pants off nervously.
