I also got lots of gold by buying items at the cash store and selling them in the marketplace.

It's not very difficult. If you got Gaia cash, you can do it. But if you don't, then do surveys or over-click the g-cash tree that's next to your gold amount.
2. Go to the Cash Shop(Or probably Phin Phang?) and buy something from there with your G-cash. (Yes, you must have the correct amount of G-cash to buy it!)
3. Once you've gotten the Item you want to sell, go to the marketplace and sell it.
For example, if you have Double rainbow and the Gold costs like 100,000 gold, I would put it to 60,000-70,000.
So pretty much, you don't want your item to be too cheap (Or else you'll earn a low amount of gold) Or too expensive (Or else no one will buy it!)
4. Then wait for someone to buy it, and you'll get your gold.
So thats how I got 300k. (I spent most of it, but I still have 200k.) And you don't need idiotic and false glitches/hacks just to get alot of gold. That's cheating!
